Question for @@murmel or anyone else who knows. Regarding symbolic ceremony... do we get to choose our own officiant from a list they use at Karisma, and do we have an opportunity to meet with them prior to the wedding to go through special parts of the ceremony that are unique? Im assuming that if we hired someone who we could consult prior to the wedding, we would be charged the $800 fee- and we arent bringing someone with us from our travel group, so we are kind of stuck with the ceremony officiants offered by the resort. But we want to make sure they understand what we want. I don't trust the off site WC to communicate this for us.

This is normally dependent a lot on your TA relationship with your tour operator and resort. For us, we got upgrade to elite on Sunwing, credit for one adult package for every 16 (So 1 free "room" for every 8) and free unlimited private events at the resort based on number of guests booked. (lowest resort incentive was free cocktail reception, highest was unlimitted private events- but this was specific to our resort)

We are doing the passports and having them act as welcome letter, itinerary, helpful hints (some common phrases, excursion info, resort map etc) and the middle pages will be the actual ceremony program. If we have laurielee send these out with the travel packets, then we will do a one page program for the ceremony, if we include them in our OOT bags, then we won't. Still undecided. Because I wanted to really use my website as an extension of my invitation and I was saving money (and trees) on RSVPs etc I went with a purchased site vs one of the free sites. We used wedshare and I 100% am happy with the decision! You can check it out here to give you an idea of the way we garnered RSVPs. Http://www.kimiandmark.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Woops missed one answer! Yes... When you get the sky deck ceremony package at Sensatori it includes fans for guest use during the ceremony. I'm just curious what they look like (if they are all used/dirty looking etc)... Since I think this will be nice to have sitting on each chair as it may be hot.... But if they are ugly I may choose to bring my own rafia versions which look nicer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We did our RSVPs via our website which allowed us to keep track and manage requests like meal choices and DJ song requests. Even my Grandmother (84) was able to navigate it. Our invitations directed people to our website and provided them with the deadline for response... Then on the website, they entered their name and the invited guest and their accompanying party could then enter their reply info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not Getting Married Until 2015...am I Planning 2 Early?
kmk2016 replied to Clarissa20015's topic in Newbies!!
I would ask your TA to get you manual quote. If you like her and feel confident that she will be helpful during your process then keep her- but many less experienced TAs don't realize that they can work with the tour operators and get pricing further out than the standard 12 months, but that they need to submit the request manually. Tell her that other brides have gotten pricing and are already booking and you don't want to miss out! I'm sure your TA will come through! If she is still unable to do so, then I would reconsider. A few of us brides here all use the same Canadian TA who is fabulous and I don't mind sharing her info if you are interested. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

My TA has already been booking my guests from package pricing secured for our Feb 2016 wedding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Your TA should definitely be able to get you room only rates for your wedding. However, your guests may opt to simply buy day passes. If they are coming on property for a private event (your wedding ceremony and reception- if private and not semi-private), Karisma does not charge- however if they want to be on resort for other activities where they will be using the facilities, they will need to buy a day pass. So your entire group are staying for 2 weeks? Wow! You may want to get a quote on a one week stay as well, since this may make it less expensive for your guests too. I know it's a long way to travel from the UK- but it will definitely help with costs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Newly Engaged And Looking For A Fab Canadian Travel Agent

So you are just using a tour operator with no TA? Are you still able to get good perks and bonuses from the resort? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 22 replies

Ok hopefully can answer all questions. Same as us/canada for appliances so no need for adapters. Dress code is pretty lax during the day. Id recommend pants everywhere but the buffet at night for men The chic is free if in premium or honeymoon suite- you will 99% surely get upgraded to one of these categories at BDR so take advantage! They do offer an upgraded menu or a wine pairing- we did neither and still had am amazing experience. Hope that helps! Peso or US dollars- there is an ATM in the lobby that dispenses usd as well. At BDR there were people in everything from shorts and ball caps to long pants and dress shirts. I would dress comfy- it gets hot! And take a note pad for taking notes at both your site tours and BDR afternoon Didn't get itinerary until the week of departure.... Bug your TA if you don't have it by Wednesday. There are irons and hair dryers in the room. Both work well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

awesome! You will love it! Not sure where you are staying but this is based on if you are staying at Sensatori Only words of advice are: 1) GO TO YOUR SITE TOUR. A few couples we talked to "skipped" their site tour at sensatori because they figured they could walk around during their stay and see it all- and they were frustrated with the weekend. Well duh!! The site tour is when you get time with the onsite WC and get to ask a ton of questions and get real answers...so don't miss it! 2) if you have your heart set on going to Le Chique as the WC to help you get a reservation. I do have a couple favors to ask for when you are on your visit.... Thanks in advance! 1) can you take a tape measure with you and measure the height, width, length of the sky deck gazebo at sensatori? No one has accurate measurements since it changed to white and numerous brides haven't had enough fabric with them to do the job. 2) can you ask the onsite WC during your tour, how the buffet option works with kids. I know it's 50% of the price for kids. But. Does the rule apply where kids are free in totality if they order off the standard kids menu rather than eat off the buffet? (This is for private events btw) 3) can the free signature drink used at the ceremony for the toast (or as included in the free cocktail reception) by one of their speciality mojitos? Or does it have to be basic like highball wine or beer? 4) what do the fans look like that are included in the sky deck wedding package? Thanks!!!! Have soooo much fun! I can't believe I have all these questions after only just being at the BDR in June.... But somehow I didn't answer these in my visit! Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cost For Photographer In Cancun?
kmk2016 replied to shelikespink's topic in Destination Wedding Vendors
Depending on what style you are looking for, and the quality of the work it's a pretty broad spectrum. $1000-$5000.... You are best to read some reviews and email for quotes to a few photographers you are interested in. It's the only way to get a true sense since there are simply too many variables. I did boarding pass invites/stds that directed people to book and to our website... And am not planning on doing a formal invitation... BUT I am doing passports sent out to everyone who books, about 2 months before the wedding that details the plans of the wedding week and acts as an Invite/program/welcome letter. For sure it's a nope- if people are staying elsewhere to "save money"... Then they can pay the pass fee, that being said; my resort doesn't charge gusts to attend the wedding if you are hosting private events that they are attending. If they are coming on property for any other events than ceremony or private reception- they charge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you are wanting a specific date in May (2015?- you wrote 2014 but im guessing that was a typo) I would sort out your wish list, work with your TA and book ASAP. May is one of the busiest months for weddings (for the reasons you mentioned) and many resorts may only do 1 or 2 weddings a day. Believe it or not, many may already be solidly booked for your date so the quicker you can select a resort the better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They are available at michaels in Canada year round.... Always have thousands of tubes near the front checkouts. We travel to Disneyworld with our kids every December and I always stock up before we go to save $ on glow toys during night visits. I always find them then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
