  1. You may want to check with Alberta retail display before ordering. They have an online catalogue so just google- but they are in Calgary (by the road king off Deerfoot)... And often sell in smaller quantities and their pricing is amazing! I have used them often- and they have a storefront/showroom with examples of everything so you can see/feel before you buy! 2. Pretty! I'm sure it will be fabulous! Yeah- my dresses are fairly detailed so I'm thankful Jasmines has a "mid production photo" option. Just in case there are parts I need them to change/fix. Can't wait to see it on you when it arrives! When's it's ETA? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. We saw a reception there at night and it was beautiful and seemed to get enough light. Most people seem to being strung lights for the plaza but say afterward that it was more for aesthetic than function and not really needed. I think you will be fine! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Congratulations! Have a fabulous time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Silk/fake flowers are totally fine. They can also go in your main luggage and protected and then fluffed when you unpack- sounds like this bride wants to fly with fresh? If that's the case I wouldn't do it even if customs didn't take them- they would be out of water for so long and touching the petals would make them wilt! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Ahhhhh quit adding to my list of things I want (NEED) to buy! Hahahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. It may be best for you, to get the most helpful response- to post your question on your specific resorts planning thread. Brides who have been married at your actual resort would be most helpful in decor ideas and suggestions based on the specific space. Good luck and happy planning! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Banana republic is a good option for those with varying sizes of groomsmen/groom since you can buy jacket separately from pants... My FI doesn't want to be sweltering in the sun so we may opt for pants and suspenders/dress shirt and tie for the groomsmen and the pant dress shirt and vest with tie for FI. It will keep out look of not being too casual, while being understanding of how hot it will be! Unfortunately Le Chateau and Mexx aren't an option for my 6'4 FI either. He has broad shoulders (hockey player) and just doesn't fit in their clothes the way they are cut. It's easy to find nice wool or dark suits here, (he has several) but when it comes to loose linen while still being tailored is harder! Studio suits are so reasonably priced it looks like the best option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Welcome! Definitely post pics! Are you getting mid production pics done? Post your inspiration pic too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I love your dress on you so I wouldn't not wear it! But how about a reception dress that is easier to dance in and relax and party? You could go with a totally different style so it was obvious- or the one you like is really pretty and paired with a fun sash could be gorgeous and obvious that it's a different dress! That's part of the reason I am going this route! So I can spoil myself with two dresses! (One tight mermaid and one sheath as well!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. We are doing this... Our reception will be until 11 (4 hours standard with an extra hour)... Anyone that is still standing after that can go to the disco! Being outdoors all day- in going to bet that the party will go hard til 11pm at which time most will be ready to put their feet up and relax anyway- but taking over the disco is always an option! 12. Awesome' I'm using them too and knowing that they are approved and not subject to the fee, it's great to hear such a good review! Did they just pass the mic to someone you chose from your group to be mc (since and Mc isn't included) and play the music? Did he bring any props (glow sticks etc)? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk They are one of the two vendors for DJs approved as vendors at karisma resorts... So no vendor fee. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Wow! Can't wait to hear your review when they come in!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. "Ette",Sonia's Bridal and "S2" is where I would 100% go for a designer gown if I were buying locally. I am however having my dresses custom made by designer inspirations by Jasmines bridal overseas. So many brides rave about the service and prices at Blissful Bridal that I have an appointment in 2 weeks here to make sure I like the silhouettes I'm considering before ordering- and you never know.... I could end up buying my reception dress here instead of the price is right! I would stay away from Ethos and Bridal Centre. Both have terrible service, inflated prices and don't care about you are a bride. I used both in my first wedding when I thought they must be good since they are ao big- I have since heard so many of the same horror stories from other brides of being pushed to make a quick decision and getting terrible service throughout the process- never again! 15. Wow that is awesome!!!! I'm going to double check with my WC too- perhaps they have reversed their decision in last months! I didn't even care about the $800 charge- it was important to have a great DJ and so when we heard that they weren't allowing any outside vendors in this category I was really upset! You have peeked my interest for sure! Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Yup #1 and #2 are on my list too! And our photographer added in a photobooth with props to our package so we will have this at the reception. Also planning on adding a go-pro camera to a bottle of tequila during the dance (saw this on a brides video and it was amazing and hilariously fun!) We are having a DJ so hoping the party goes til 11pm outdoors and then moves to the disco after. Funny- we are considered old by many but still want to have a great FUN wedding. 17. Oh sorry to hear your site visit didn't go well at Sensatori!!! That's too bad! If you can post a pic of the fan here, I'm sure others would find It useful, but good to know that I need to add fans to my DIY projects if I need them- since it sounds like they weren't nice! Good confirmation on the kid pricing with the buffet- I know others were inquiring too! As for the gazebo dimensions I'm sure someone over the coming months will get them, so no worries!!!! What happened that your site visit didn't go as planned? It's too bad you didn't get up ok the sky deck... It's a beautiful space! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yes in Canada we are so lucky to have AI resorts priced through tour operators that included everything. Generally it's almost the same price for land only for US guests as it is to get a package that includes a charter flight for Canada for 7 nights. It's one of the only advantages we have here when it comes to travel haha! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Are you American? I think OP is Canadian and talking about package price that includes air hotel and transfers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Another bride passed on the fabric samples for studiosuits.com and we plan on ordering from them. If you want I can lend it to you? The quality is really good and reviews are great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Wow... Amazing! I have to say, the wind wasn't CRAZY on the sky deck either time I was up there during the dress rehearsal weekend. Sure, it will move your veil around, but I didn't notice it to be windy- maybe it was the time of year? (End of may/start of June)... But it wasn't really a factor. The nice thing about doing it up on the sky deck would be the privacy... But if you are having a DJ who will have a full sound system set up at plaza zavaz it may be louder. There is a large wall on one side of the sky terrace that blocks some of the wind... And would hold the sound I think! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. This will be totally dependent on time of year! A great "cheat" to narrow down some options is to use tripcentral.ca chart! Their prices are never the best out there, but it's a good starting point to narrow down a month or hotel that may work. You load your departure city and other things like length of stay and what star level, choose a region and it populates lowest price by hotel/month! Once you find a couple that look to meet your needs then you can investigate further with your own TA or here specific to weddings! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. my girls wanted to host something but I told them no! I don't want anyone spending anything aside from attending the wedding- so no bachelorette party or shower for me! I'm a second chance bride so I don't feel like I missed out since I got both at my first wedding a decade ago, this time I'm fine not celebrating until we reach our all inclusive the week of our wedding! We do plan on taking off as a group of girls and enjoying the disco one night while the guys enjoy the sports bar- but that's it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Depending on the style/ hands down for a higher end replica with either intricate beading or lace- Jasmines bridal is the best option. For less complicated dresses Cara bridal on etsy, or dressilyme seem to have the best results behind jasmines. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. No I think they are totally safe to travel with and aren't really frozen. Great info at bloomsbythebox.com in their FAQ section! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
