Absolutely! Not sure if you are Canadian or American, but if you American I strongly reccomend the owners of this site (wright travel) who are amazing... If you are Canadian like myself and many other brides here, travel works a bit differently than the US girls- and I can certainly suggest a great TA as others would also agree is fab.

Chinese Lanterns And/or Sparklers On Plane?
kmk2016 replied to nadiakat17's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I think that's in your carry on- NOT in checked (none permitted). I am sure that's the new rule/ but I could be wrong. -
There are several amazing Canadian TAs that us brides here have recommended that specialize in destination weddings- most have great relationships with the tour operators and have been invaluable! I know there are threads where we have given suggestions of good people to email/call and see what they offer.... But if you need reccos just ask.

Wedding Idea: Cruise Ship Or Banquet Hall?
kmk2016 replied to DorothyEzell's topic in Canadian Destination Wedding Group
So are you meaning like a local day cruise close to GTA for the ceremony and then a reception at a local hotel/banquet facility? That sounds nice. Many brides getting married in their home towns change venues between reception and ceremony. Is this what your daughter and FI are also envisioning? Most of us here are planning weddings that are destination in nature, meaning usually travelling to another country/city and being there for 3-7 days hosting the entire wedding celebration in a local not in our home area. This results in often a much smaller group, but there are many perks to that. I think if your daughter were wanting to take a cruise with close family/friends where she would get married and then later in the month/year come home and host an at home reception at a local ballroom for guests unable to travel for the actual wedding this would also work as well. It all really depends on what your daughter wants. There is no right/wrong rules in a destination wedding. -
Chinese Lanterns And/or Sparklers On Plane?
kmk2016 replied to nadiakat17's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
You are correct in that sparklers are not allowed. Depending on the fuel cartridge on your lanterns they may not be permitted either. Have you confirmed with your resort that Chinese flying wish lanterns are allowed? Most of Mexico have banned them due to fire hazards. I would double check with your WC for sure. You can likely purchase your sparklers direct from your resort or make a trip to Walmart depending on your location. -
As a Canadian your best bet would have been to work with a Canadian TA for package pricing since our pricing is often much cheaper through tour operators than what US customers pay when booking separately. they would then negotiate all the extras that were previously mentioned- and liaise with the resort itself. But if your bookings are done it may be too late.

Wedding Dress Prices?
kmk2016 replied to gkashmira's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
So I tried on dresses today at blissful bridal. Very nice people there! I worked with Alison who was a doll and didn't rush us at all. We were there for almost 2 hours and she was great! I tried on a bunch of dresses... Confirmed that the Vera wang Gemma is my ceremony dress based on the silhouettes that I tried (they don't carry her dresses but I tried in a similar style)... And will order that one through Jasmines in blush. I did find my reception dress though! It was $899 and perfect! Not lace like I thought id choose- but organza and layered with rouching, will go back with my BMs to show them before ordering. -
To Ask Bridesmaids Before Or After Rsvp
kmk2016 replied to peachykeen159's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I asked before but had thrown the idea of a DW to them before hand and knew they were coming. I did however not ask my flower girl before RSVP came in since I didn't want to pressure our friend/family to bring their children and the added expense of doing so. I waited until RSVP was in and knew they were bringing their child before asking flower girl. All others in party knew before hand. -
Talk to a TA that specializes in destination weddings. Ask them for their recommended options based on what you are wanting- and then research their suggestions and choose the one that fits your needs the best! You are in a great place here... And will get lots of support and answers once you narrow things down! Congrats!

Hair & Makeup
kmk2016 replied to talicea7812's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Try asking them if they can work with you at all on the outside vendor fee you need to spend to have them be your stylist. Sometimes these companies will share the cost or discount their rates a bit knowing you have to put out a large amount of $$ for this fee. It may not result in much of a discount- but it's worth asking. The worst they can say is no right? -
Process Of Getting Legally Married
kmk2016 replied to nadiakat17's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I think she means... Who would know if the signatures were put on the piece of paper in their kitchen at their home state or at the altar in Mexico. I believe I read a bride did this a few months back and it worked just fine. I'm trying to find the thread! -
Ahhh- yeah I don't have the app either (not sure there is one). But I can access internet which is how I do it.

Just sign up online to have the coupons emailed to you. You only need to show it on your smart phone- you don't need a physical coupon! So you can go store to store with same coupon if needed.

Anti-Chair Sash - Ideas?
kmk2016 replied to JenFL's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Yeah that's my plan... Since at the site visit when I asked the onsite WC she said they could do it for a fee- I plan on pushing the issue with a little cash! Here's hoping. Since the sky deck at my venue has since changed the gazebo from chocolate brown to white- it won't look totally icky with the white chairs... At least they will match. I may come up with a couple plans to dress up the chairs just in case. -
Anti-Chair Sash - Ideas?
kmk2016 replied to JenFL's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Totally wouldn't mind I'm sure but would need to be done while our bridal party pics were happening sadly. The only issue is that our cocktail reception is taking place in the same general area as our ceremony- so it would require their staff to move the chairs past our guests into an elevator and then over to the reception location and may be disruptive. Not sure what to do at this point. But I'm not keen on spending $28 a bum! -
Anti-Chair Sash - Ideas?
kmk2016 replied to JenFL's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Sooooo jealous! Mine are $14 each and according to my offsite WC, another $14 to use them at reception. Needless to say I am ordering them once, and then begging the onsite team to move them for me to the ceremony space. (It's down 4 flights of stairs so I'm not optimistic but worth trying.) worse case? We use them only at reception and plain folding white chairs at the ceremony but it's definitely not my vision. -
What to say during the Sand Ceremony
kmk2016 replied to Archie510's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Thanks for this! Originally I was against doing a sand ceremony- but then I saw the thread where everyone present poured sand in to be the foundation- and I really liked that- so I may reconsider doing one after all and a good script will help! Has anyone successfully had their resort supplied officiant in a symbolic ceremony read the script? Did it all go smoothly or was some lost in translation? -
I think she mentioned in above post that she had the seating chart/meal selection to the onsite planner so they knew and went over this in their planning meeting. Many brides put a symbol on the dining/seating cards too- "shell stamp for salmon, starfish for lobster" for example... And then give a back up seating chart with selections to the head waiter.

Thread is over a year old and OP likely made a decision by now since the wedding was to happen last November. Just an FYI

Murmel is right.... Read through as much/all of both this thread and the Official thread for Sensatori and all your answers are found! Great resource and will totalling assure you! It may take a few evenings reading- but sooo worth it since many brides have the same questions and it's great to be able to find answers to your questions from brides who have gone through it!
