  1. I have loved the service I have received since moving to this new team approach! Never longer than a day delay in getting a response!
  2. Does this include being launched from the boat? If we did this, there would be no need for an outside vendor fee correct? Since waters are open to any boats and you wouldn't be on resort property? (Thinking of azul sensatori). So long as I had a beach side event that night and we had a set time for the fireworks arranged, it would go off fine no?
  3. Yes I would be interested!!! I am in Aspen so close to Lakeview and this sounds ideal!
  4. Same question. I would love to add this to one of my events but would want to keep my budget reasonable! If it were $1000 or less I would definitely consider it too!! @@Soulmate - can you share basic pricing? I have seen other vendors have pricing by minute- can you share yours?
  5. Hmmm sounds good @@Mrsktobe. I didn't expect to have to pay that much to be honest for NO ceremony and just 5 minutes to sign the paperwork and send it in. But if that's standard I guess we will bite the bullet.
  6. If you read this thread and the "official azul sensatori" thread you will be in good shape! Amazing amount of info in these thread pages!! Official sensatori thread will have pics of everything. Good luck' happy planning!
  7. In Alberta you can't do that you have to hire a justice of the peace. The whole city hall thing isn't legal here and only happens in the movies sadly!
  8. In my instance this is for a package (air, hotel transfers) through a tour operator (sunwing in my case) free person is a credit for the amount of the lowest purchased room level before taxes. It counts adults only, kids do not count toward your "purchase x, get one free". These are often negotiated as an incentive from your TA and your operator. Even if travelling to the same hotel or using the same tour operator, your TA may negotiate her own incentives. This will all be detailed in your contract and should understand all the small print before signing because it can likely not be amended once contract is signed.
  9. I'm an idiot... Sorry Alison! Dulce de leche is normally in a jar no? (Not a cake flavour)... In any event, it's the Tres Leches cake that they have NOT the caramel/dulce de leche. Sorry for the confusion!!!
  10. Yes. It is listed as a cake flavour in the banquet kit and you can order it. It is decorated just like all the other flavors and is simply an option. I haven't tried it but have heard it is moist and good.
  11. Me too! Good question!! I plan on just having the person do it at our house night before we leave. If we need witnesses my MoH lives 2 blocks away and her/her hubby can sign and be done with it. No ceremony or anything... Not telling anyone either. So cheap is all I need!
  12. Chocolate, strawberry and champagne were all delicious...red velvet was also delicious and although it wasn't there to try- I have heard the dulce leche is also yummy. Cupcakes were so dry you couldn't eat them and the gluten free options were brutal. They all have a cream layer in the cakes and those were good (strawberry for example seemed like a vanilla cake but with strawberry cream between the layers.) the fondant was... Well fondant Hahahaha but it peels off easy. Butter cream doesn't hold it's shape well in heat and they don't recommend it for cakes there.
  13. Another option is to book her as "room only" through your tour operator and then book flights separately through regular channels. WestJet for example flies daily to cancun (some with stop overs) from almost every city but will get her in on the day you want. It may cost a bit more- but give her this option and then let her decide what she wants to do.
  14. Some of the cakes were really good...but agreed that most menus include dessert so a cake isn't 100% required. My FI really wants a cake- and for it to be big and grande. That being said we will go with a 3-4 layer (we will have close to 80 guests). I am however having them slice the cake and my MoH is being tasked with boxing the cake for everyone to take to their room in cute little take away boxes (resort won't do this for you, but allows you to do it yourself). I always like a little sweet treat late at night after a night of drinks and dancing... So it will be something I (and hopefully my guests) will appreciate!
  15. If you are booking an AI charter, flights are limited... But may open up closer to the date of travel. (Usually only 1-2 direct charters per city a week) The other problem is when using multiple tour operators (flight companies), you will not get credits accumulate like when you give the business to one company. The last issue is some tour operators often have exclusive rights to specific hotels whereby they are the only charter company privy to booking rooms at that hotel. Best of luck navigating!!
  16. Yup depending on city, guests charters leave on different days. This is typical. Luckily as it looks right now, Vancouver and Calgary departures are the same day- and 80% of our guests are these two cities. I allowed everyone who wanted to bring a guest to do so- but had quotes for single occupancy too.
  17. Go to the martha stewart section, not the punch section... she has her own area in the scrapbook area (In most calgary area michaels).... it's in there with all her other punches! It was really cheap with coupon too!
  18. I talked about the cakes I tasted at the bdr earlier in this thread. As for caribe, it can be simply added to your detail page with your offsite WC much like all other details.
  19. Oh that's good then! Haha... I just didn't want it looking like some sort of line up asking for $... They do this on cruise ships all the time. We look to have about 80-90 people based on bookings... So I will have a good deal of staff and definitely want them to be allowed to be properly thanked! Just didn't want guests feeling like they were having to go through a receiving line of sorts that implied "money time"
  20. Sky deck brides (past or present)... Anyone have issues with knee length chiffon dresses and the wind?? I'm worried about short dresses for this reason. Anyone have experience from their weddings?
  21. They line up???? I'm all for tipping the reception team and planned to do so discreetly but I certainly don't want my guests seeing this and feeling like they need to pull out their wallets too! I'm shocked to hear that they do this!! I'm at Sensatori, but I would assume all karisma properties would operate the same way. How many staff were there in this "line up". We are generous tippers but if this is done in view of my guests I will not be pleased.
  22. That sucks about pricing being so high at the Now Resorts. (I considered them too) They are generally a bit less expensive than Karisma properties too.... But I managed to have my TA negotiate a great 2016 rate at Sensatori. Still costing a lot for the wedding itself, but the cost of the package for my guests seemed acceptable based on everything they offer. My guests have all been pleased.
  23. Can you send me more info on the girl you are working with for decor?? I love this idea!! I plan on packing a lot of stuff but this could be helpful too!
