My girlfriend who was married in cancun last year said her biggest tip was getting lattisse... That it made her lashes full and huge and easy to deal with in the humidity of Mexico.
-
Just an FYI- these deals aren't offered by the resort, but either your TA or the tour operator. Make sure you ask!

Us too. Originally we planned on lowering the price of everyone's package, but with $5000 and change in free trip credits spread over 82 people that was only like $55 each and hardly worth it. Instead we are putting that $ toward a few extra special things in Mexico for our guests to make their trip more memorable.

You sign a certificate with your witnesses just as if it was the legal ceremony.

Depending on how many people you have attending you could do it at spoons. They have a section that they make semi-private that allows for a fixed menu and could be a nice option. You can also do something similar at zocalo or the Italian restaurant but the rooms are smaller and would not allow for as many people. Would they be open to hosting a welcome event instead? So that it's not the day before your wedding reception?

Well I'm a total planner, lol.., my wedding is Feb 2016 and my booking/RSVP deadline has already passed so I was very early!! Hahah my guests had no problem booking that early (82 guests booked) and it's allowing them to pay down slowly with our TA if they want. They are price protected if then price went down and it allowed them to make this their winter holiday for next year and start planning! So I'm in the camp that it's never too early to let your friends and family know you want them along for your DW!

We will be bringing our own centrepieces. As for DJ it depends on how you want your reception to feel. There is no hard fast rule for sure! We have 80+ booked and my family are big dancers... So a DJ to keep the party going was a must for us... But others may opt for a docking station and a great play list and be totally fine! Do what feels right for you and your FI! It's your day!

Sunset Cruise in RM?
kmk2016 replied to beachbride2009's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
How many people can they accommodate? (We are karisma too). We don't want to exclude anyone and gave 80+people so are thinking we may have to cross this one off our list sadly! -
How did that work for you? Did you have a lot of guests going elsewhere? Did it impact your perks and bonus offers through your TA? Are you still able to link all the reservations as a part of your wedding group for those that booked elsewhere? I have read too many horror stories on here of parties being moved to other resorts not knowing they were part of a wedding group when overbooking happens... And for guests not being linked to the wedding and it causing confusion that I pushed my guests to book only with our TA. All by 2 of my 82 guests did so (they have a time share in the area and are coming just for the wedding), but I'm worried we might have stragglers book with someone else as we get closer to the date & and am not sure how resorts ensure they are linked to the master.

For you legs, it should be fine to get them done the day before.... It's more delicate areas where I would plan ahead a bit. Leg waxing is easy and relatively painless. Just make sure you have enough growth for the wax to grab onto! If you just shaved sometimes in the last week it will likely be too short. Congrats on your wedding being tomorrow!

The problem isn't sharing your personal wedding websites to show other brides and get feedback on your designs.... It's with brides who are trying to encourage others to join groups on Facebook to plan and discuss wedding details- taking away from the community here! I'm glad this rule is being enforced... The support and community between brides (and some grooms) is amazing here and I would hate to have it fade away if people took their discussions to another forum! The owners of this site do such a great job keeping the mood here informative and supportive- i don't know how I could plan a wedding without it!!!

Our tour operator dictated ours as well. Deposits needed to be paid within 90 days of getting our contract pricing... And then paid in full 60 days before departure.

Guests Not Booking Through Travel Agent
kmk2016 replied to kellymiller's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Yes it's a charter airline that only does package travel (hotel, air and transfers) for Canadians. -
I was told that we are eligible for the free events piece at Sensatori as a Canadian, (based on rooms booked) but NOT the free wedding package. I have this in writing however for 2016 the incentives aren't confirmed yet so this may not apply to me but was also told this offer is pretty standard and will likely be repeated. In addition, if you are working with a GI certified agent, there are other perks that the hotel gives you (a choice of three packages), so make sure you take advantage of that! Also if you attend the BdR there is the $500 credit to your account. Remember to read the fine print- and fight for anything that you think you should get (like the screen shot).... Be the squeaky wheel and sweet as honey, and you will be rewarded!

Packaging Snacks In Your Oot Bags
kmk2016 replied to trbutler's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Gels and liquids will get tossed- but snacks are 100% fine as listed in OP -
It is my understanding that unlike the legal ceremony that must follow exact wording and is performed in Spanish (with an option for translation), the symbolic ceremony can be written however the couple chooses. Of you don't have your own script they will provide a standard one, but you can be as creative as you want (I'm assuming it can't be a 2 hr ceremony or anything or you will be charged more for the officiants time. But standard 1/2 hr or less can be however you like.

Hahaha- we got a great price with our TA and made our RSVP date the same as our booking deadline. We then made sure people understood that the price was only for the first 50 people who booked (as per contract) and people just did it... Turned out our TA managed to keep the pricing held for our additional guests who booked by the booking deadline even though we were well over our 50 people! We have 82 now! (Late tricklers). I'm totally type A and everyone knows it- so I think everyone just knew to book early and save me the stress. We were blown away by the love and excitement shown by our family and friends.... We had hoped for 40 people- 80+ is surreal!
