This only works for room only reservations.... Any Canadians booking as a package, this wouldn't work. Also- it would really only work for a single- since if you put 3+ names on a reservation, then you need to pay more and it would be for every night of the reservation not just a few days in the middle to cover the 3 night minimum for vendors Keep in mind too- that this vendor would have 100% rights to room keys etc to the room you have their name on- which would be "shared" with your guests... Make sure that your guests are ok with that!

Are you having a DJ? Or an IPod docking station? What type of music are you putting on the playlist? If you have a DJ then you need a dance floor since it's implied that you will be dancing.. And doing so on sand would not be great. If you are doing an iPod reception then you can dictate the mood and just have background music aside from your first dance- then after dinner go to the disco. We are definitely having a dance floor- but we are 85+ people and are having a DJ.

Yikes! Never have had a bad experience with vista print ever! And shipping has always been crazy fast (I have learned to never pay for expedited shipping since my orders always seem to arrive in 4-5 days with standard! (Which is usually free)

Same here! We are 3pm start at end of February... I'm not worried about a little heat!

If at all possible, try keeping all the site shares on one thread so they don't get lost in the shuffle.... It's helpful to brides to just pull up the one thread and have different planning sites in one place, vs having to hunt back through thousands of threads to find that great inspiration!

Sorry... I call them floats too- I'm just muti-tasking and quickly thought best way to describe them as mattresses. My bad. I'm ordering them from china... So about $4 a piece... Not bad! (Buying from a wholesaler)

These are the ones I'm ordering (not me in the pic!).... Some resorts offer thick foam mattresses for use in the pools... Unfortunately mine doesn't! So I'm making sure everyone can relax in the pool without shelling out $$ to buy one in the lobby gift shop!

My big purchases will be insulated mugs/cups and pool mattresses... Our resort doesn't have floats (only sells them for ridiculous price at the gift shop) and one of my favourite things to do on holiday is to lay on a pool mattress and sip a tropical cocktail! I want everyone floating their cares away! We will then add a couple smaller things to our bags but these are our "big items"

Your settings must not be properly set up or your spam filter is catching them all! Trust me... They are a 2-3 times a day spammer!

If you sign up for their email spam, you will get offers for fee items. But they flood your email and it really isn't worth it. It's smarter to use sites like retailmenot which post codes for places like vista print and look for free product offers and skip signing up yourself!

It is never recommended to send things ahead of time shipped to the hotel. If you want a room drop, I believe the current charge is $4 per item/room... so it can get pricy, and often times there are mistakes made when doing so. Most brides choose to do a welcome party and distribute them there.... or meet their guests in the lobby upon arrival.

At Sensatori I talked to the onsite planners extensively about this at the BdR. For mid-large weddings for ALL events related to your wedding and all the decor- the max was $250 paid in cash for all set up of any decor... They do an amazing job and follow your vision to a tee. If you only wanted a few items like favors and programs laid out- there is no charge, but all true set up that requires staffing will be charged a max of $250. Totally reasonable to me!

We are going with chiffon... And long because of the wind on the deck- girls decided they didn't want to worry about their dresses flying up!

Nomi Whalen is considered the best IMO and is absolutely amazing.... I have attended over 5 weddings where she officiated and the attention, love and personal connection she shows with each couple she married is unmatched. She is a spitfire but spiritual and warm... Extra chairs arent charged for I dont believe... as long as they are garden chairs. Chivaris are $14 a piece (I know cause I am renting them). Garden Chairs are included... but if you want the decor added that is included in the memorable moments package, then there would be a charge (Sashes etc). I have 80+ guests booked and I am not being charged for extra chairs.. however I am on the sky deck

Myhabit.com is also having a wedding event with a ton of stuff!!!! Dresses Etc!!

Not sure where you are getting married but garden chairs are often standard... It's the Chivari chairs that are usually an upgrade. I decided to go the Chivari route for my reception at this point... But am really contemplating adding them to my ceremony as well (they won't move them from one location to another)... But that will add an additional $1000 on top of the $1000 I am paying for them to be at my reception. I can use white garden chairs for my ceremony at no additional cost- so I may have to get used to those for the sake of my budget! Depending on your resort- check the official thread for that resort on these forums... They will often have pictures and dimensions of all items like tables and chairs.

Groupon is back for $70 worth of items for $27 at vista print. Says valid for Canada and US!

Your FI needs to be strong too- this is as much his "fight" as yours.... He needs to stand up to her and protect you, your relationship and your (FI & you) decisions. You don't want to start the marriage with your mil getting the impression that you are "mean" because if didn't put his foot down with her and defend you. His priority needs to be you and him.... It's no longer about doing what mommy wants. Just don't engage her in any more of the process... Or give her a job that doesn't mean as much to you... Or that won't impact your vision and have her work on that project so she feels important, but one that has no creative control. I dealt with this in my first marriage and in the end I was the bad guy since my then-DH didn't know how to say no to his mother, making it look like I was pushing him to decisions that were mine and not ours (he would appease his mom- which to someone who was controlling like herself, was taken as him siding with her and making me stand alone in defending OUR decisions.) It's even more important for a healthy marriage (and a happy and wonderful wedding celebration), that he doesn't just speak up/agree with you when you are alone... But also in front of his mom!

Thank her for her input and do what you and your FI want. Stop including her in things...it's not her wedding it's yours. if she pushes for information, have your FI stand up to her and say that you guys have the planning process covered here on out. Is she paying for the wedding? If not- then she has no say. I would stop asking for her opinion... Even if you are only trying to be nice!

They are pretty easy to design on vista print and get shipped the right size.... and then just circle punch a hole and done! I think they are a cute touch... But certainly not required!
