@@girlinthecity97 frames are favors girl! I've been to sooo many weddings where the frames have been the favors. I have always liked that too! I'm doing a welcome package, so I really want to find a cheap favor when I get there, like macaroons or something. For the welcome package, I really don't want to stress too much so I'm doing a custom printed beach towel, a small bottle of foaming bath soak (which I'm making at work), a candle (making at work), & biodegradable sunscreen with a little welcome note with our itinerary printed on there. @@girlinthecity97 I think it's a little frustrating that they're just now telling you that you'll need a DJ equipment for your reception. I'm also having my reception at the pier and was told that the regular sound equipment would suffice. Is Hiring a DJ in your budget? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@@girlinthecity97 for my rehearsal dinner, I'm calling this my white party. I'm having 1 hr & 30min cocktails then dinner and inviting all my guests. This is falling under the FREE events promo again. So I will not know the location until I get there. I ordered Mahi Mahi for my guests. I'm sorry you didn't qualify for this promo. My wedding was 5 days from almost not qualifying I had no idea about this promo until after I signed my contract. I think the TA's should promote it more to brides before they lock down their dates. @@girlinthecity97 I will ask my TA for pool deck pics and options on private and semi-private space options! I ordered my hydrangeas from http://www.bliss-bridal-weddings.com/#!product/prd3/3346991991/5-bunches-of-hydrangeas This website has really good pricing and just about everything that I need. I have not received my flowers yet, I just ordered them so once I receive them I will post pics on the thread. For my reception dinner options, I'm offering the Grilled Beef and The Salmon / Sea Bass Duo. This is from the FREE private events menu. Since I have over 20 rooms booked, I qualified for the promotion of unlimited FREE events. You do have to pay $5 pp to have 2 options. I also had to pay $500 to have my reception on the pier, but I wanted to know for sure where I was going to have it. I'm not ordering off of the Banquet menu at all, I figured my guest can eat at all the amazing restaurants while staying there, and it was a nice way to save a little money. I'm using a lomas approved photographer who is wiping out my budget. I booked Sarani, which was one of my only splurges. What to do about flowers though.... Here is a picture of the hydrangeas that I bought online: First time I've seen so many poor reviews on GRM on Tripadvisor. I'm hoping that we get some better reviews before my invitations go out so my guests don't get skeptical http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g659488-d5527618-Reviews-Generations_Riviera_Maya_by_Karisma-Riviera_Maya_Yucatan_Peninsula.html

@@girlinthecity97 I would like to thank You! I've been following this thread meticulously and everything that you just went through has helped me with my planning! Ally's advice has been incredible and I know that this thread has helped me tremendously with the planning of my wedding and I'm so grateful for everyone who is contributed on this thread! I just want to throw in my two cents on the outside vendor flowers, I too have been struggling with the idea of whether to bring fake flowers or use an off-site vendor. I definitely do not want to incur the 800 dollar fee so I did have this checked out with my TA & and WC. My TA is actually at generations right now they both wrote me the other night and said that I could do outside flowers as long as they were not delivered to the lobby I would have to go and get them myself or have one of my wedding guest go get them and bring them back to the hotel. As long as there are no deliveries I could get around the 800 dollar fee. I know there's been some back-and-forth on this topic however that was told to me and I do have it in writing. I purchased 10 bunches of fake white hydrangeas for my white party, however I would really love to have real flower bouquetsfor the wedding ceremony and reception Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Welcome Dinner/post Wedding Brunch
rtscent replied to nadiakat17's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I'm having a welcome lunch right before the catamaran cruise as a group reservation so that's free. I'm having a rehearsal dinner with all my guests the night before (included in my package) I'm doing a farewell brunch the next also a semi private group reservation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
@@hanaefaith @@ChiTiff I already asked my WC this and the answer is NO. The resort will have to do all of your set up. They do not allow family members/friends to set up decor. Regardless a couple hundred dollars to set up for your entire week or weekend of set up outweighs their vendor's prices for flowers. My TA has done a ton of weddings and says this is the route many brides have to take because all of the extra charges can cause you to double your budget Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@kfracassi to add to @@lauralane feedback on reception locations, you can also have a beach reception with a tent, this cost $1200 though. I was considering this at one point then switched to the pier. I'll figure out how to post a pic of the beach tent set up once I find that email. @@AllieH her quote did seem subjective, however I really needed to know what I was in for with the amount of decor that I might bring. I know for sure it will be cheaper than the memorable moments package so I'm good! @chifTiff yes they say its $5 /pp for decor set up, however I asked for a specific quote from my WC based on what I wanted to bring (listed below) and she quoted me $400 for the total set up. This includes the set up and breakdown @ each of my events during the wedding weekend. Here is what I proposed that I would bring (not sure if i'm sticking to this 100%, but its good to know) Sat Cocktail Party Ø 4 Table Bows Ø 4 small centerpieces Ø Monograph paper napkins Ø Votive Candles Ø Amp / Speaker Sun Rehearsal Dinner Ø Chair bows Ø Table Cards Ø Small centerpieces Ø Monograph paper napkins Ø Votive candles Ø Amp / Speaker Sun Cocktail Party Ø 4 Table Bows Ø 4 small centerpieces Ø Monograph paper napkins Ø Amp / Speaker Monday Ceremony Ø Chair Covers and Bows Ø Ceremony Bouquets Ø Ceremony Candles Ø Aisle Flowers Ø Amp / Speaker Monday Cocktail Party Ø 4 Table Bows Ø 4 small centerpieces Ø Monograph paper napkins Ø Amp / speaker Monday Reception Dinner Ø Centerpieces Ø Guest Table Flowers Ø Table cards Ø Seating Chart Ø Cake Table Flowers Ø Favors Ø Amp/speaker

@@ChiTiff they include little pictures of the ceremony set up in your details sheet once you get deeper into your planning. Your WC should be emailing you this. The always & firever package is very bare minimal. This is why I decided to bring some decorations bc everything was starting to add up. I'm paying the extra $500 to have the sky deck ceremony, another $500 for the pier reception. For example if you want to add gazebo flowers that's an additional $1600!!!! I'm getting fake gazebo bouquets made at bloom and bringing them with me. It's worth the hassle. They also charge $100 a bag for aisle flower petals and more. I would focus on what you actually want in your ceremony and reception cost it out with GRM/ Lomas and if you can DIY it or bring it I would. I'm doing RSVP via online at my wedding website. My grandmother is my oldest guest and she managed to book her room online and she calls me so I'm not too worried about her. This saves cost and time. Honestly I received a wedding invite from a friend a month ago and I was excited to go straight to her website to RSVP it was very easy and I didn't end up "forgetting" to mail in my RSVP like many ppl do. Also since this is a destination wedding you may need rsvps for various events such as an excursion, rehearsal dinner and farewell brunch etc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi @@nadiakat17 I'm doing a catamaran trip for my guests. Fortunately for me the rental itself is free bc I qualified based on how many guests that I booked. This was a perk incentive offered by my travel agent. I do have to cover food and beverages on my catamaran and my guest max is 40 ppl so I will have to get RSVP for this. I have about 65 guests I'm hoping not all of them want to go! It's a 4 hour snorkeling cruise to marina moroma Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
