Hi Ladies! I just wanted to drop in and give a quick update on our wedding experience! Every aspect of the wedding wend absolutely flawlessly! A few quick notes about: * Now Amber resort: - This was where our group stayed and the Hindu Ceremony was hosted. - The resort is fairly new, and as a result feels fresh and trendy. - All of our guests (we had 60 people in our group) were very impressed with the staff, grounds, service, food, rooms, etc etc. * Las Caletas: - The wedding itself was at Las Caletas. - I must say, this place surpassed all of our expectations! The location is absolutely beautiful. - Myself, and the girls took the morning boat; I would definitely recommend taking the early trip and enjoying the day at Las Caletas. We brought a bunch of decorations with us, so we needed the extra time to prep everything, but this place is perfect if you just want a few hours to relax before the wedding ceremony. - We decided to have the guys come before the main group. This worked perfectly! They had plenty of time to get ready, and we had the opportunity to take some awesome photos! It took me a while to decide on whether I was ok with seeing my husband before the ceremony, and I'm very happy that we decided to meet up beforehand. As you can see from the pictures, it gave us the opportunity to have some alone-time with the photographers, and spend some additional time together on our wedding day. Thinking back on it, I would have felt very rushed to take the photos we wanted if we just kept it to the hour allocated to during cocktails. * Photographer: - We chose to work with Daniel Diaz (http://danieldiazphoto.com/). - Daniel and his team were very friendly, fun, flexible and creative; absolutely amazing! When we met them, we truly felt like we met up with friends that we haven't seen in a long time. - They were with us for 3 days, and were extremely easy to work with. I attached a few of my favourite photos to showcase some of his work =) Feel free to message me if you're looking for any tips, and I'll do my best to help! Anya

Hi! Does anyone have any tips on where I can buy a batch of nice Mexico postcards online (perhaps a local Mexican store with a website?)? We are looking to have the majority of them with different pictures/designs as we want to use them instead of a traditional guestbook at our pre-destination-wedding party in our home town (we are getting married in Mexico!). We would need quite a few of these (maybe around 100), and need to find a place that ships to Canada. Thanks!

We're from Toronto. How about you? Have you gotten into any of the planning details with Las Caletas? Are you bringing any decoration items with you?

Hi Ashley! Congrats to you as well! =)) We actually very recently booked our photographer. We considered various options, and also preferred to get a local PV photographer to save on their travel costs. We looked at the photographer provided by Vallarta Adventures as that's the 'in-house' photograher for Las Caletas and NOW, but after some research felt that Daniel Diaz Photography had more creative photos and similar pricing (we needed them for 3 days, so the weekend package was great value for us). Daniel is very nice, and has been great to work with so far! And plus, he covers his own travel and accommodations costs in PV. A link to their packages: http://danieldiazphoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/destination-pricelist2013-2.pdf Good luck with the planning!! Anya

Hello! We are getting married at the end of April this year! We initially booked our wedding at Dreams Puerto Vallarta, but had to scramble and completely change everything once we found out that Dreams was sold. We are now staying at NOW Amber Puerto Vallarta. For our wedding, we have two ceremonies planned: one at the resort, and the other at Las Caletas =) As a ‘thank you’ to our guests, we were thinking of doing ‘Thank You’ bags (similar idea to ‘Welcome bags’). Wondering if anyone has any tips on items that would be good to include, and also any good places to get these items from in Puerto Vallarta (good quality paired with good price of course!). We will have about 60 people in our group, so would prefer to get most items locally in Mexico. * I know that we can get these from the resort, but they tend to be pretty $$, so we're looking into putting these together ourselves. And I think it's also kind of fun to make these more personalized. Some of the items we had in mind: - Smaller tequila bottles - Mexico themed shot glasses - Salsa & chips - Mexico themed souvenir bottle of hot sauce - Coffee - Souvenir coasters *** Any other ideas are welcome! =) We also wanted to put maracas on everyone’s dinner plate as a wedding favor. Has anyone purchased these for their wedding? I know that Las Caletas offers these, but was trying to see if, again, we can save some $ on these, and buy our own. We’re looking to get these shipped to the resort, since we would need them very shortly after our arrival in Mexico and won’t have any time to go get them in person. So, getting these online is probably our best option. The other thing that we're looking into is bringing our own freeze dried rose petals. There are various websites that these can be ordered from. However, we are trying to figure out whether we are actually allowed to bring these into Mexico. Does anyone have any experience with these?? Any other tips and pointers with wedding and decor items for NOW Amber and Las Caletas are obviously welcome! Thanks a bunch in advance =) Anya
