My wedding is Feb 23, and we are sending ours out right after the holidays (1st or 2nd week of January). We are including a CD with songs to get people even more excited for Mexico (if that's possible) and some important info...reminding people of restaurant dress codes, tipping protocol, advice on switching cell phone plans for the time they're there, etc. We are also doing OOT bags when they arrive, bamboo fans for the ceremony, and maracas for the reception. They're coming all the way to Mexico to see me, I'm going to pamper them

Hey girl! I'm not having my reception inside, but for hair/makeup, I wanted the best. So I booked Styling Trio. When we went for a site visit in September, we went to Playa to visit their salon and my mom had a hair trial done. WOW. My mom has extremely curly/humidity-hating hair, and it was absolutely gorgeous and stayed until the next day! They are pricy, but it's the one day you have to look your best, so who care?! :-) Good luck! We are bringing a lot of stuff. We are doing the long tables/lanterns for the welcome dinner the night before. At $25/piece they're expensive to rent directly from DRC, but I feel that it might be more of a hastle to bring them to Mexico/risk breaking on the plane.. For maracas, we got ours from http://www.maracasmexico.com/. They were recommended by Dreams and work frequently with them. Also, they ship directly to the hotel as they are located in Puerto Vallarta, I believe. We ordered 45 and got them personalized. I would order them soon though, they told me Feb/March is their busiest months and they want orders 2-3 months in advance! Your wedding is a couple weeks after mine! Hey! I am having my 3 events in relatively the same area...ceremony on the right at the gazebo, the cocktail hour in the middle at the pool terrace, and reception on the left in the Seaside Grille. I think it's nice to switch things up, but it might depend on where everything is. If cocktails are at the Jacuzzi, your guests will have to walk a ways to get to the beach if you reception is there. So you don't want your guests to be all over the place!

Sister In Law- Pregnant- Helpppp
nattiegams325 replied to BusyBee280's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Omg the same thing happened to me. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who felt annoyed because I kept thinking...am I being selfish? My future sister in law is due 2 days before the wedding. Like...did she not know the consequences of her actions? Ugh. I was/am so aggravated. I was extremely worried that the future parent in laws might not be there, but they made it very clear that our wedding is the priority and will not miss it. They were also upset to hear their daughter was pregnant. Which is so sad bc it's their first grandchild and this should be a joyous time. That's life I guess :-/ -
No Maids, No Groomsmen?
nattiegams325 replied to Mangosong's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
It's all a personal preference. I'm just having a maid of honor, best man, flower girl, and ring bearer and this was a best, easiest decision for my fiancé and I! -
@@landryfrost We upgraded to the Seaside Grille for our reception! Cocktail hour on the pool terrace and ceremony at the gazebo. Gazebo vs beach are entirely different. The gazebo is not private (it's next to the pool), and not in the sand. The beach is....the beach! haha so it's up to you and your fiance's preferences! Personally, we wanted the gazebo for the look of it and my fiance wants to wear nice shoes (hence no sand). I don't mind the people watching, I think it adds to the fun :-) @@Beaner82 I'm just a couple weeks after you!! Feb 23 :-) We're not doing anything on wedding day on the beach, but we may do the welcome reception there the night before!

@@llevasseur yes, for the day before (my welcome reception), then they will change my look so I don't look the same both nights! I'm also having my stylist at home do some trials with my headpiece so I have an idea of what I want. I figure this is the only day that matters how I look. So hair and makeup (and photos and food) are my priorities.

What is everyone doing with outside vendors? Photog/videog/hair/makeup, anything else? I booked Styling Trio because I wanted an English-proficient team and I've heard wonderful things about them despite the $$ (I think it's worth the splurge!) and I wanted airbrush makeup. Still wondering if I should do photog/videog but Anel's pictures from the resort look really nice to me. I'm heading down next month for another site visit so I'll hopefully get to meet them then! If anyone has requests for questions or pictures of locations, let me know and I'll do my best! I'll be down Sep 10-14.

After lots of discussions with my fiance, we decided to go with a MoH (my sister), BM (his best friend), flower girl, and ring bearer (my cutie pie cousins). It's easier this way, and I was having a moral dilemma over asking my girlfriends to pay even more when they are shelling out considerable $$ to join me on my special day. This also saves us money (bridal party gifts) and stress/time!

Hair & Makeup
nattiegams325 replied to talicea7812's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
@@MJTK I emailed a few months ago and again a few days ago, the email a few days ago was from another lady from Styling Trio and the prices have gone up by $75 for all services. Eg for hair and makeup by Adrian for the bride including a trial...$625. If I go with them, I am going to quote the original prices. But I am going to check out a few other vendors. -
@@ChicVivi I haven't heard the greatest things about their services...very sketchy. I'm going with a local TA that I can meet with face-to-face (which I have!). She is a Dreams-certified agent and she's getting us lots of perks. We went with Apple Vacations packages which include free airfare for 1 for every...idk maybe like 10 or 11 people? We already have about 30-35 booked and are expecting about 10ish more so it's been working out well! I talked to several TAs before making my decision. You have to kind of interview them, how is their website? Email/phone responsiveness? Experience in general and with destination weddings? Your guests will be booking with them and you want the experience to be as easy as possible for them! So don't be afraid to shop around.

@@smileitseb I can't see the site!! Is the password still fisher? Also sorry I've been MIA lately ladies!!! We did our engagement pics and sent out save the dates and finalized everything with the travel agent AND i said yes to the dress (!!!) so I took a break from wedding things for a few weeks haha Next step is invitations, picking out wedding party attire, and really pulling together my "vision" for the wedding. FI (Bill) and I are headed down (with his mom!) again in September. I'm going to take another bride's advice and ask to do a tasting for the platinum menu as well as stalk other weddings.
