Im sorry.. I meant to ask what does the resort charge for the outside vendor fee to bring in my own dj? If anyone has done this, did you notify the resort wedding planner prior to booking the DJ?

Can anyone confirm the price for the outside vendor (resort fee for a dj) ... and where is everyone having the reception set up?

My mother-in-law to be has never flown and is not coming to our wedding next year. My father-in-law to be wouldn't miss it for the world. We told her we understood her decision and then we let it go. We have realized that its our day and the people who are truly happy for us and want to experience it with us will come; the others will support us from afar. You have a right to be upset but in my opinion you have to let it go... even though it hurts. I included my mother-in-law in the wedding planning and dress shopping the other day. She has had a great time and I hope that she will change her mind as it gets closer... My father-in-law has made his reservation for him alone.. I don't think she was happy with him but thats for them to work out... Good Luck. I wish you the best!

Yes, we are looking to have the legal ceremony as well... I haven't gotten the cost to translate it yet.

Ladies, I have a question. I was reading through the packages and I am getting the Dreams of Love Package... it doesnt state chairs and sashes for the ceremony... is that an extra charge for that package? Also, If anyone downgraded to the free package ... is the food cost the same as listed for the overages on the bottom of the silver and gold menus or are there additional costs...

I am trying to lose 10 lbs before my wedding in April 2015. It is really tough to lose it and keep it off. My fiance and I have been working out together and it has been helping to keep us both motivated.We dont go to the gym but are using at home workout videos that incorporate weight training and cardio. We hurt like crazy when we are done but its so worth it. I havent lost any weight but I have turned fat into muscle and thats a great start. Keep trying and don't get discouraged. You can do it.

I made my own pocket invitations from cards and pockets. I am taking them to be printed on Friday and then sending them out. We did not send out save-the-dates because all our close family and friends already know. I hope to send invitations by July 1, giving our guests a little over 10 months. You?

Yikes... well they dont look to promising. My mom was really worried when I said they use flowers to decorate. She use to work for a florist and said that using real flowers is the easiest way to get someone sick. She told me if I wanted flowers that we would take fake ones that we can wash before sticking them on the cake...Are you worried about taking the cake decorations through customs? And what kind of decorations were you thinking if you dont me asking...

Wow. So far I have been able to stick with the Dreams of Love Package and my new sister-in-law has her own photography business so she is taking our photos for free ( that saved me a bundle...) I think we will be 8000-9000 when said and done with our room included. I'm still trying to decide on the entertainment. Does anyone know what type of cakes the resort does and/or have any pictures?

This rate that you guys are referencing.. is it just hotel only?

My sister-in-law to be is a photographer so I lucked out that she is doing our wedding photos for free... I am struggling with the entertainment.. what is everyone doing for after dinner. We got the middle wedding package and so there is nothing for after dinner. We thought about just grabbing everyone and heading to the bar but ... we are unsure if its appropriate. We are only having 20 people at the the wedding and its mostly family.

We arrive on the April 17 and will just miss you.. I hope we can share some ideas as it progresses. I have some photos the hotel gave me of centerpieces and wedding bouquets that they offer... private message me your address and I can forward it to you.

Im struggling with flights and vacation packages for 2015. We went with Apple Vacations because we have used them before and had great service. They have a nonstop flight from our airport but they arent available to book yet. Its really frustrating because we were hoping to have all that information to go into our wedding invitations and so if people called us we could give them an idea of the cost. Airfare is being more frustrating than dealing with the wedding venue.

Does anyone have an pictures of the types of cakes that Dreams La Romana does for the weddings, if so, can you please post or email me the pictures. I was wondering if anyone would share your ideas for the type of cake your having done by the resort. I have only seen a few pictures of actual cakes thru TripAdvisor and they looked "kinda blah". Also, is anyone taking any cake decorations with them from the U.S.? Thanks,
