  1. Do any past brides have thoughts on table linens? Are they necessary to bring? I was considering getting colorful table runners but I'm not sure if it's worth it or not.
  2. After all of the glowing reviews I've read, just booked Disco Movil too! I went with 2 cold fireworks and 4 uplights--is there anything else you'd recommend as far as their service? Anything we should/shouldn't do?
  3. Thanks!! That's what I figured but then I started to get paranoid that I wouldn't have enough bows!
  4. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but since most people seem to bring down the chair bows, do you have to have enough for the ceremony and reception, or do they move them for you? Or do most people just have the bows at one event or another?
  5. I know!! I've been doing all this research and finding all this cute stuff but I just feel stuck I also feel like some people might say "Oh of course we'll go!" because they don't want to hurt my feelings when they have no intention of going. I want to send out a note that say "Don't lie to me, I promise my feelings won't be hurt!"
  6. That makes me feel better! I'm just the type that as soon as I have a game plan in my head i want it all done RIGHT NOW but I guess I need to get over that real quick...
  7. Did you feel like it was hard to organize tables, do welcome bags and chair bows, yadda yadda without knowing the exact number? I guess I'm stressed because outside of family and a few close friends, I really don't feel like I can't count on anyone for sure to actually go until I see that they're booked! So many people seem super excited about going, but I don't know who will pull the trigger once they see the price tag!
  8. Hi brides How far in advance are you setting the deadline for you guests to book? My wedding is 8 months away, which sometimes seems like a ton of time and other times seems like no time at all! I just feel like I can't plan hardly anything without having a very good idea of how many people are going to be there...any thoughts?
  9. WOW his work is amazing! Like everyone else asked, do you have his prices? (I don't get this whole 'not listing it on the website' thing that most photographers seem to do...)
  10. Hi Brides! I know this topic has probably been beat to death, but is there anyone who's used the resort photographers semi-recently and can share photos? I'm having a hard time justifying an additional $2000-$3000 for an outside photographer when one comes with the Divine package. Also, does anyone know how many hours of photography the Divine package entails? I know on the sheet it says "Photo Package (24 full color photographs) and Wedding Album ( only ceremony)"--does that really mean they only take pictures before the ceremony/immediately after (no reception or getting ready?) Sorry if I'm being obtuse, I'm just hoping I'm reading it wrong!
  11. Past or present brides, how far in advance are you setting your deadline to book? I know that we need to have our planning sheet in 45 days in advance, but how much time did you give yourself to play with? Rachel
  12. Hi guys! I've read a lot of people saying they're bringing or had brought bows for the chairs. Do they still charge you to set those up or no? Or do you have to do them yourselves?
  13. Truthfully I'm not sure, it was more of something she mentioned in passing that she's done in the past, except in her example the 'over 25 guests' charge was more like $25 a person she added on to their cost instead of $75 (an extra 50 a couple seems relatively reasonable but an extra $145...not so much ) But you're right, I don't know how you would go about deciding who got charged extra or who didn't, or to just tack on a little bit to everyone... But I don't even know my exact number yet so I probably won't use this tactic, I was just throwing it out there!
  14. My travel agent mentioned working in each person's dinner price into their cost for the trip, so essentially people are paying for their own dinner ticket (but don't really know it...) I guess from her perspective 75 per person isn't a huge burden on them but having dozens of extra people on you would be. I haven't gotten to this stage yet, we just officially booked our date at the Jade, but it's something to think about! Hi ladies, My wedding is booked at the Jade for June 17, 2015, but I'm going there for vacation next week for spring break and have set up a meeting with the wedding coordinator (since I'm there anyway I figured I might as well!) Is there anything you guys would reccomend asking/going over while we're actually there in-person, keeping in mind that we have 0 planning done so far? Thanks! Rachel
  15. Hello all you beautiful Jade brides! I just booked my wedding for June 17, 2015 on the beach with a Castaways reception--so excited! Question (even though its more of a generic destination wedding than a Jade question)...how far ahead did you/will you send Save the Dates? I'm planning my ceremony so far in advance to give people plenty of time to plan, but I don't want to be obnoxiously early either...any thoughts?
  16. Hi everyone! I'm also super excited to see other 2015 brides...I was feeling a little crazy for starting planning so far in advance, but I figure for a destination wedding people need to plan really far in advance. I just booked my ceremony at the Now Jade for June 17, 2015. My fiancé and I visited last year and LOVED it. It's a great balance between intimate and spacious, and they reeeally seem to know their wedding stuff. My parents also stayed there earlier in the year and loved it. I think it would be a great choice!
