We plan to be married and have our reception on the beach. Fingers crossed! Hi All! Our day is getting closer and we are finalizing a lot of the last minute details!! We were originally thinking about avoiding a DJ...but I am starting to think it may be worth it just to not worry about reading the crowd, scrolling through music thats not fitting the mood. We are having a private reception on the beach from 6-10pm and thought we would just head to the bars/evening entertainment afterward. Does anyone know if the 4 hour DJ is someone you choose in advance, or do you just get whoever is available? We don't really need an emcee I don't think...we will be doing a couple of things like first dances, but by the time dinner is over there will probably only be about 2 hours of dancing/need for an emcee. Does anyone have any strong opinions, or thoughts on this? We are trying to be frugal, but don't want our guests wondering whats next, do we dance...that kind of thing

@@AllieH Thank you for the tips! I am thinking we'll have more luck making things ahead of time, so thank you for the link to your ornaments - very cute! We'll probably do something along those lines. @@HancockBride We are getting married on 11/15/14...coming right up! What is your date? We also plan to do welcome bags, I am still debating the wedding favor/ornament too. I'll let ya know when we figure it out @@NickiLynn1116 Thanks for the info on your welcome bags - I love it! We were thinking about similar items, although I love the crossword puzzle idea! I might need to borrow it As far as the water bottles go, if you aren't set on them, I would say skip it. I was at EDR last summer, not sure if you have ever been, and they will stock your mini fridge daily with water bottles. We asked for extra almost every day, too everyone there is fantastic! Anyway, back to the point, we would take the bottles with us to the beach/pool/for walks and would toss it away when we were done. If you have koozie's already your guests will have that to take home and remember the trip with - but thats just my opinion!

Hi all! Has anyone had luck buying wedding favors in Mexico? We leave for our wedding 3 months from today!! So excited, but realizing it's time to get those little details ironed out any advice is welcome - what did you all give out? We were thinking maybe an ornament since we are getting married about a month before Christmas...but I'm definitely not set on that. Thanks!!

Hello! I have been following these posts for a while, as many other brides-to-be do I'm sure. Our date is 11/15/14 and we are getting married at EDR at Fuentes Gazebo! I'm so excited! One of our friends was going to be our photographer, but it sounds like she is not going to be able to make it. Could anyone recommend photographers that they had a good experience with? I sent a message to Sarani, and am waiting to hear back. I'm worried that its cutting close to the date to find someone.

Hello! Thank you everyone for all of the useful information. I have just confirmed our wedding date at EDR for 11/15/2014. I'm very excited and hope planning goes smoothly! I have been to EDR once before with my fiance and know it is beautiful. Due to the size of our wedding and Gazebo 55 being taken, we will be getting married at the Fuentes Gazebo. Anyone have experience with this location? I hope November weather is ok, seems most people are married at EDR in the Spring. Should we see about having the reception at Tuncanes? I thought a beach front reception would be romantic...but I suppose not in the rain! Thanks for everyone who has contributed to this thread, it is very helpful!!
