Hi! You already know what happened with mine. Just be proactive and make sure that if the day of forecast calls for rain that you talk it out with the coordinator before hand. Unfortunately my coordinator was no where to be found the morning of our wedding and never even advised us that there was rain in the forecast. They asked us to make the decision to move inside after it already started raining and all of our rented decor items were setup outside. Which means they got wet. They refused to move in the majority of our items and did not give us a refund for the items that were not used at our reception even though no one asked if we wanted to move everything inside at all or even informed us of the forecast. I hope you have beautiful weather and that everything goes according to plan but don't let it get to you too much if your plans change. I did and it totally ruined my day. Just take a few shots (if you drink) to ease the nerves and enjoy the company of your husband, friends and family.

Good morning Ladies! I have finally written my review for Moon Palace. It does not even begin to explain all the major fails that occurred during our vacation and wedding but i wanted to get something on here. If you have any questions feel free to contact me and i'll be around to throw in my 2 cents and give my advice on the forum. Good luck to all of you!

Sorry ladies! I will likely write my review this weekend. We just got back last weekend from honeymooning and went straight back to work. Also, I have been putting it off a bit because i just want to move on and not stress myself by thinking about it. You will get all the details soon! If you've booked already i just highly suggest you stay on the coordinators' asses (especially the onsite) and make sure you get all your questions answered and in writing. If you haven't booked i highly suggest you take your business elsewhere.

Our wedding was yesterday and to put it nicely we were not at all happy with how everything was coordinated and the fact that we were lied to by the coordinators. It was a disaster. From the priest to the decor company; everything was a mess. The only people that truly came through were the special effects company Promedsa which really helped us make the best of a shitty situation. Full review to come.

@@NJBride2014 I'm having between 75 and 80 guests. Yes, we are leaving in 18 days and that number is still growing and i feel like everything should be done already but it's not! AH! Anyway, we got JSAV through the coordinator but have not signed anything yet. I was looking in to booking Discomovil a few months ago but they replied that they were not available for our date. I was really bummed about that.

@@NJBride2014 Yeah my coordinator sent me the price list. Its a little crazy to pay 4 times the amount i would have payed here in the US but i guess i i'll have to decide if i really want them. I read they are easier to find in Mexico during the holidays and not very easy to find otherwise. I don't want to go on a wild goose chase when we get there so I'll probably just get them through the resort and pay the $118 for 30 or not get them at all because it hurts me to think that they are $30 for 48 here in the states.

Thank you for your advice @@shan0487 & @@NJBride2014 @@NJBride2014 all the uninvited guests were invited by other guests so that's how they got all the TA info.We didn't mind plus ones. We were expecting that but whole families to be invited without anyone even asking us or letting us know has been a real shock to my FI and I.Mind you they were not invited by our parents or anything like that. Even that would have been more understandable. It's really stressful to be put in this position. We too have had people book now just 30-25 days before the wedding and more than 2 months after the RSVP was due. It really does throw everything off. There are many extra costs involved and even though I really do feel like sticking it to them for the audacity i have a nagging feeling i should take the high road and include everyone so there are no confrontations. ::ugh::

Sorry you had to go through the stress as well but i'm glad to know i'm not alone in my feelings.21 days to go and still have not closed out our PO and many questions still unanswered. On another note has anyone had uninvited guests invite themselves to your destination wedding? or had guests invite others without asking you (and i don't mean a plus one. I'm talking 4 people)? I have about 8 people and counting that were not invited by us in any way shape or form that have booked and are coming. 5 of which neither myself or my SO even know. 6 of which no one even told us were coming. 2 We didn't find out until our TA sent us the final list of guests and 4 that were casually mentioned just yesterday. Should we accommodate these uninvited guests at our wedding events or should we exclude them for their rudeness and inconsiderateness? I need help!

If anyone is contemplating having their wedding at a Palace Resort i urge you to run the other way! Less than 30 days to go to our wedding and the off-site coordinators have been non existent. Instead of making the planning process a smooth one they have made it a struggle. I am a very patient and laid back person so for me to say this is a big deal. I hope when we arrive to the resort our wedding goes seamlessly and my mind is changed. until then i do not recommend having your wedding at this resort or any Palace resort if you would like some sort of peace of mind during the months leading up to it.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I would work on just getting quotes from all the vendors you're interested in and figuring out your budget and your vision. Then I'd get all the same things out of the way (programs, oot bags, etc) so that when you start planning with your WC you don't have to sweat the small stuff at the same time. You might even want to start asking for the locations where you want to have your events but You don't really have to start communicating with the coordinators until about 3/4 months before the wedding. I'm at about 45 days away from the wedding and we still haven't signed the Purchase Order or finalized most of our vendors that we're contracting through the resort. You have plenty of time! Enjoy it! First, Congrats! My experience was that when we locked down a room block with our TA she gave us a detailed contract of what we are entitled to as a wedding group. This listed every level of room nights and what we would get. You need a group contract with either the resort or through your TA to receive the room night perks and I believe to be able to even get a group contract you need to guarantee a certain amount of rooms. I would speak directly to the resort to get more clarification.

Does anyone know if there is a 24 hour restaurant at the resort? I know most all inclusives do have atleast one small buffet open 24 hours or past midnight but for Moon Palace i've only seen the restaurants open until 11 pm the latest and 24 hour room service. @@shelikespink did you happen to find out the answer to your question about having an event after midnight?

She's the coordinator i had and got replaced. She was quick to respond but her problem was that i could not get any information from her, she wasn't helpful at all. I had to ask the same question 50 times before i received a straight answer. For example she sent me the list of approved photographers for the resort and i had to find out on here that none of them were approved anymore and that i would now have to pay the vendor fee for the photographer i booked from the list because he was no longer approved. I wish your friend lots of luck. My advice to her if she stays with Margarita is to be persistent and constantly call her. The one i have now is Brenda. She is better with answering questions and assisting in helping to plan but she's taken 2 weeks and counting to answer a question and our wedding is less than 50 days away. ::sigh:;

I'm in the process of trying to do the same. I have a coordinator named Margarita and i have the same exact problems. It is extremely frustrating because she gives me as little information as possible and the only way I get information about anything at all is because I have to ask a million different questions in a million different ways. It's not even about having to wait for a response. It's about having to wait for an answer and not getting one or getting just the minimum. Instead of making this process easier she has made it hell and If it wasn't for the fact that we are less than 60 days away as well and all my guests are booked I would have cancelled the whole thing. I just hope that it takes a turn for the better soon. I sent a long email to my TA and she said she would forward it to her contact at Moon Palace. Hopefully that gets me a more compident coordinator. I will let you know if it works!

Congratulations on your engagement! I am getting married at Moon Palace in August and have between 70 and 80 guests attending. so far the planning portion has not been the best so be forewarned. That being said with that amount of guests you are expecting i think Moon Palace would be the most accommodating.
