Sorry to hear this frustrations. I refused to do a room blocking for this exact reason. I gave them all the information they needed and even a travel agent they can use but no group blockings. I been to a wedding a few years back at grand bahia Principe and from what I remember, they have a man made beach that I wasn't crazy about. I went to RIU ocho Rios and they're beach was okay but I absolutely love the resort and their service. Their price is great also. I'm getting married at the riu clubhotel. I battled with the choice because I love exclusive luxury but I thought about my guest. The price is much cheaper and I didn't want to discourage anyone from going. I stayed at riu clubhotel ocho rio last year and I absolutely loved it!!! We are having an AHR a week after the destination wedding. I will include both dates on the save the dates as well as our website. However the invites will be for the reception but will include a text with our wedding date so the guest will know it's a reception only. I love Riu because their price and it's beautiful. I am getting married in riu negril in June. Secrets is really beautiful but is adult only. It may be a bit pricey but if you give your guest enough time to plan, it may not be a big deal. I had to consider price because we are planning in a short period of time and I didn't want to limit my guest that have small kids.
