  1. I owe this an update! I will try to get to that early this week. It's been hectic, as my inlaws are coming to stay with us a week next weekend for my daughter's 3rd birthday, so I've been concentrating on that. I do have some updates to report, however
  2. @@candle23 No problem! I spend waaayyyy too much time on Pinterest
  3. This is my list so far - I won't have the photographer the entire reception, and I'm sure people will have their phones out! 4. @@acw271011 You start up an account, and you get boards you can name into whatever you want. Mine is kinda separated but love how @@tygrrlily has hers organized! You make a board (say, Centerpieces) and then when you see a pin you like/want to look more at later, you can click "Pin". IT'll ask you which board you want to save it to, or if you want to create a new board. You can also get an add-on for your browser that allows you to pin things you see on the web, versus just what other people have pinned on Pinterest itself. It's very fun/addicting. Lots of good ideas everywhere!!
  5. @@NixSpade I went into your gallery, and I could see them. They are fun! You can click on "my Media" and choose a gallery image, to put them in a post
  6. What a headache! At least it sounds like a few options, and do they charge you for serving the food you bring in?
  7. You could always include a tiny packet of dishwashing soap in the welcome bag! Not sure how that would work with the water, but I'm assuming if it's filtered and the resort uses it to wash, it'll be ok
  8. I have several templates that were shared with me, more than happy to pay it forward. Just message me your email address!
  9. Vow renewal typically is years later, like a 10 year anniversary. Yours is symbolic in that you're already going to be legally married. We are doing the same, but will still consider the wedding date to be our wedding not when we signed the papers
  10. We got stadium cups that change colors when cold liquid is added! Light, easy to pack and around 1.75 each. Can't go wrong!
  11. Update 6.28.14 Bridesmaid Bouquets: Last weekend I spent some time doing real touch bridesmaid bouquets. I thought I had updated with pictures (or mentioned it at least) but apparently not! I have 2 of the 3 done - waiting on some more flowers and trying to find sangria thin ribbon. Everything I'm finding is maroon or pink in the stores. Granted, I live in the middle of no where I ordered the real touch mini calla lilies off of Ebay, as well as the colored ribbon (that will be used for bouts too, and random things I find uses for it haha). The corsage pins my mom gave me leftover from my sister's wedding, and I bought floral tape & 1" wide ivory ribbon from Walmart. I did wrap the stems in floral tape pre-ivory ribbon, I think it helped keep it together, even tho I tightly wrapped the ribbon after. You could probably skip that step. I watched a youtube video on how to make a calla lily bouquet - I figured it was a similar concept to fresh flowers haha! Here is a shot of the ribbon - was going to do just ivory, but I have tons of the blue ribbon so figured why not play around? I'm going to redo it and glue it down, but this is unglued with diamond coraage pins (I had to cut them with wirecutters to make sure they stay IN the stems, not fingers!) I also wanted to add a bit of fun Mexico to the bouquets, so I got these margarita charms for $1.50 each at Walmart. They are pinned to the back, and are just for fun Ampersand ( & ) Photo Prop: I've seen tons of cute pictures with couples with an ampersand/& sign, even on the beach! So of course I want one too! I found a thin, unfinished letter on ebay for $8 shipped (12" by 11", 1/8" MDF). It's perfect because it's a decent size and I could customize it, AND it's light and thin so easy to pack! Inspiration: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/47358233555151434/ Unfinished: After being painted blue to match our wedding: Very thin! With a flash (closer to "real" color in sunlight) Currently sitting on one of our wall accents - I kinda like it! It may go there after the wedding Chapstick Labels: I got my ink in the mail, and while putting it in the printer, the "photo" cartridge was overfull and SPILLED all over my hands and legs! So now I've got horrible stains on my legs Plus, the darn printer is on our network but saying it's offline on my computer *sigh*. I got the labels/, and redid the placement/colors based on the printer. When printed, the "Thank You" showed up underneath the other text, so it looked really weird. So I moved the text up, changed the Thank You to more of a Sangria color that I used in the fan programs (yes, I got those pretty much ready!), and brightened the blue of the logo! Hopefully I can get these done as soon as the printer situation is figured out, haha. Fan Programs: I wasn't planning on doing these for a while, but I got on a ROLL after seeing a few I liked on Etsy. Just a draft, but I love it! They were from a template that I gutted outside of the outline, and customized the inside. I had actually made 2 - one is more traditional, but I liked this one better.
  12. Here is my planning thread for any other brides considering the CPC Cancun! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/77321-marinah84s-planning-thread-31415-crown-paradise-club-cancun/
  13. We are actually paying extra since we only invited about 50 people and know some can't come. I wanted something private where we could do traditional wedding things like toasts, dancing, garter/bouquet toss with out others/worrying about being loud! Plus they have a beautiful waterfront area I fell for! http://www.pierre-wedding.com/blog2/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/CrownParadiseClub-201220-59-pierrevisualstudio.jpg
  14. If we do a 4 hour reception, it'll be a soup option too. I find that a little strange for the fact it's going to be hot!
