Post Wedding Sale **tons Of Items**
marinah84 replied to kisha311's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade or Freebies!
I'm potentially interested in the flower girl book & camera (can you tell me more about the camera? is it a keychain or an actual camera?), as well as 2 of the kids passport books/stickers. -
Update 9.29.14 So I came home from a long weekend visiting with family, and came home with lots of the things I needed! Oh how I miss being able to shop in brick & mortar stores!! Flower Girl Kissing Ball I found a twig twine ball that was perfect in size (6" I believe) for $3.47 at my parent's Walmart! (Frustrating, since I only have a walmart in this small town and they didn't carry them!). The same ball online at Walmart.com was $4.99 and on ebay was $7! Score! I also got some sparkly pink ribbon that I know my daughter will love, and it's really close to my bridesmaid raspberry pink/purple, so it works. Trying to figure out what I want to do with the shells - pictures online used moss, but I don't want to risk them confiscating due to "plant material". I could just leave the shells loose in there, but then they flip over/don't look great, etc. I may try to hot glue them to some material, maybe some extra tulle? Then it's going to be tough getting it in there! I'll play with it Ring Bearer Box Hobby Lobby was having 50% off their wood boxes, and I found a beautiful box with an awesome clasp for $5! I'll have to do a bit of customization, in that I will have to cut/stain or paint/adhere wood dividers, but it's gorgeous! My sister did find an unfinished wood box EXACTLY like the tutorial DIY box I posted above there, for around the same price...but I would have had to stain it (aka more work) and it was kinda cheap-y (clasp & hinges were not great). For the same price, this one is beautiful and I'll probably display it with the rest of my wedding stuff Cake Knife/Server I've been watching a few sets on ebay - 2 styles are "beachy" and 1 is just acrylic. I can't decide if I want to do the "beach" one (which is anywhere from like $15-30) or just get the $6 one and add some ribbon & a shell. This is something I'd want to re-sell, so not doing the personalized one for $20 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/271403011070?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) - I'm doing a lot of personalized things, and this seems just like too much, haha! What do you guys think?? I would DIY this one: Boudoir & TTD prop! I'm not wearing a veil for my wedding, but I figured I needed one for the Boudoir session & TTD, just because! So since Hobby Lobby had 50% off wedding items, I grabbed a long one there. Nothing fancy, just something that will be good for those types of photos based on my online research! I figure certain family members will post pictures regardless of what I say (especially since some will be staying on the adults only side with free wifi), so I'm doing an official hashtag & the Wedding Party photo app. I plan on putting this on the escort card table. Just for fun! I saw this at Hobby Lobby and fell in love - it's pretty hilarious. It's not going to the wedding, just in my laundry room, but thought you all would appreciate a good laugh

Update 9.25.14 I've updated my to do list - well lists, who am I kidding? I also added in some more projects. Good thing I have over 5 months to go, haha! New Projects/Projects Added Back to the Table Ring Box So this is a brand new project. I was looking at ring bearer pillows and did not want to spend that much on a pillow my son will probably not even hold (and no rings on it!) at 15 months. I saw some alternatives I liked, and I really just want it for the pictures. Here is an idea of what I want to DIY: I found a tutorial (http://www.lesoirees-blog.com/2013/04/wedding-tips-monday-diy-wooden-ring-bearer-box/), and figure I'll just find an unfinished (or finished) box that I like and use that! I didn't want to spend $40+ on a box on Etsy, and I will probably not do any personalization. It's really just to get a few pictures haha. Flower Girl Tutu So while sorting through my closet, I found tulle that I had bought to make my princess daughter tutus (obviously on the backburner with all the other stuff going on!), and realized I had bought tulle in my weddings colors + white accidentally. I originally wanted to make her a tutu dress, but have a cute dress of hers that would work. Since I already HAVE the tulle (honestly, what else am I going to do with it?!!), I plan on trying my hand at making her one like I had originally planned! I also have a few starfish embellishments I got on ebay and didn't know what I'd do with them...so this seems like a good project for it! And if I hate it, I have the other dress as backup Thanks for Booking Postcards I want to do something for those people who booked, and I love the idea of "Thanks for booking" postcards. We haven't done engagement photos (and unless we do it in the snow over the holiday, probably won't), so I'll probably just use a photo of us. I want to use this with a groupon for Vistaprint, so it's not a high priority project. It may turn into a beach postcard in the middle of January with a countdown to beach, when it's freezing out! Flower Girl Kissing Ball Along with the ring bearer box, I want to do something with my daughter but don't think I want to trust an almost 4 year old with throwing petals nicely, haha. She probably would chase them or put down 1 at a time or dump the whole thing - you never know! I saw these pomander/kissing balls, and I think it'd be really easy to DIY. I have ribbon and extra starfish/seashells, I just need the twine ball. I think it'd be cute! Since I also know certain people wanted to see my mothers gifts (cough calgarybride2015 cough), here is what I have so far. I'm going to put them in a box with a cute poem, and present them the morning of the wedding. I got the charm here: http://stores.ebay.com/vossavenuejewelryandgift/ She was great to work with and made me a reserved listing for one for mother of the bride & groom, so I could combine shipping. For my father, I'm going to have a canvas made of us dancing our father/daughter dance with the lyrics to the song superimposed. FI is on his own for his father's gift, haha. Updated To Do Lists: DIY Finish starfish boutonnieres (taking to my parents house this weekend for my mom's help!) Finish bridesmaid bouquets & pack in shoeboxes (basically glue down the ribbon) Finish tossing bouquet Flower girl tutu Flower girl kissing ball Ring wood box Finish mothers gifts Name hangers Toasting glasses (or just buy the heart one you really want...) Glue orchids in centerpieces Welcome Bags Make "Oh Sh!t" kit labels & put together Make sunglasses tags ("Don't be blinded by our love") Decorate the bags with logo or starfish (OR wait for sale on wedding site for custom bags...eeek!) Put chapstick labels & protectors on chapsticks Finish Welcome Booklet (Home printer) Misc To Do Finish Ceremony Program Fans (Vistaprint) Menu Cards (Vistaprint) Make Kid Activity Books (Home printer) Make luggage tag placecards with names (Home printer) Print & frame Instagram Hashtag photo Print 5x7 couples pictures for table & put in frames iPod playlists - ceremony, dinner, reception Boudoir session (Oct), get photobook printed Etsy cake topper (she will do after finished with this wedding season) Pick up bridal bouquet at florist Home To Do (not "taking with" stuff) Wedding dress alterations (december at the latest) Get kids passports (december at the latest) Get notarized permission form for family to take kids back in USA (not necessary but a safety net just in case) GET LEGALLY MARRIED (for tax purposes lol). I *think* that's about it...whew. I'm sure I missed a few things but oh well That's why I'm doing this thread, to keep myself accountable and on track!
