Depends on your resort - mine has a price per guest for 3 to 5 hour receptions. Depending on guests, we're going with 3 or 4 hours. After we'll go to the bar since drinks are free and there is a dance floor lol! I'm also having a smaller group (probably less than 35 total) so it'll depend honestly on the age spread. Right now I have about half that will be done by 10pm at the latest, so doesn't make sense to pay for a late reception!

What Language Is Your Ceremony In?
marinah84 replied to TinkerSofi's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
This reminded me to email my WC - I feel that she told me that ours WILL be in Spanish! I think if you do legal, and use their minister, it is automatically in spanish. I need to check in regards to symbolic (since we'll get legally married before we go). I would personally do the ceremony in whatever language you feel comfortable in. If a majority of guests prefer spanish, I'd do that - maybe for significant parts, like if you write your own vows, keep it short & do it in both? (read them in spanish & then translate to english)? Ultimately, the answer is usually go with what YOU want. Especially as a DW isn't too traditional -
She did the same and we said just those two nights is more than enough! I'm also thrilled they can go! Only my immediate family is planning on coming and so that makes it even more special that they can come. The family on both sides that I really want to be there is already booked including flights and so if no one else comes other than my best friend I don't mind

I'm doing the same! My dad found an agency in Miami Florida that is an approved vendor for my resort which offers adults only suites for only 20 more night than the regular rooms ( which includes free WiFi a stock mini bar and access to a 24 /7 high shelf liquor and snack bar). I am very lucky that my resort will take a list of guests and give me room credit versus going through one vendor however! I am losing the opportunity to get free room night through the travel agent but the cost savings to my guests and the lack of hassle comparatively is worth it to us

We're paying for it ourselves. My parents are paying for my siblings (brother, sister & brother in law). I've always been independent - I went to an expensive private school but only because I got over 100k in scholarship money between academic and athletic. I still took out 13k in loans, but paid it off within 10 months of graduation. His parents aren't well off, I told my sweet mother in law rather than giving us money if she watched our kids the night before the wedding and of, that's more than enough (she offered first and then money! ). We have great jobs and he's a penny pincher so we'll pay cash (or put on card to get reward points then pay off immediately lol). I'll be 30 on our wedding day - I feel weird thinking my parents will pay much, especially as my mother has made it clear she feels paying for siblings is my gift. ..

Good luck! yesterday the florist joked that I brought her more business because she could be putting off of my bouquet because I didn't need it for so long and she kept getting more business that took her away from doing it! She told me to bring her any other project that I needed done in 6 months haha The font is called Rue on picmonkey.com! I just designed the image (took a bit to figure it out, I just kept saving different versions since you can't go back and edit it later once you close it...I think. ..). Enjoy the mall Lol! I'm going running alone after having the sick kiddos alllllll week...surprised I got Anything! done! And Kim - totally do your thread!

Update 10.3.14 Some quick updates! Cake Knife/Server: I ended up purchasing the plain cake & knife set and will customize with charms/shells. I've seen some cute ones with ribbons so I'll probably get "inspired" by some of those! Toasting Glass Set: Bit the bullet and purchase the customized toasting glass set that basically helped me to fall in love with a beach wedding/make up my mind I had to have one! I purchased on eBay since it seemed it was the same sellers just with free shipping (probably to capture "bargain" ebayers!) Survival Kits: Today I had some down time, and designed the Survival Kit labels and test printed! My printer is apparently out of colored ink (tho they look full to me...) so I had to do B&W. Here are the computer images and what it looks like printed out (non-stuffed). I designed the 2 images in Picmonkey with inspiration from @@MK0386 and her thread here: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/72688-my-diy-survival-kit-label-for-oot-bag-with-pics-and-list-of-items-with-price-breakdown/ I put the front & back images together on a little less than half a page in word, flipped the back image around so it'd be right side up when I folded, and "grouped" them together so I could easily alter the size. First try it was too big, this is pretty much perfect, aka the size I'm sticking with! Front: Back: Together on Word doc: B&W test print & staple Wedding Bouquet: Picked up my bouquet - I love it! I may try to put a few white orchids in the cascade part, as it's a LOT of blue, but the bouquet itself is gorgeous. Perfect size for what I wanted, as well! My dog was curious as to what I was doing, haha: Here is the charm/ribbon on the stems: Updated To Do Lists (red are projects I am planning on tackling next): DIY October - Finish mothers gifts October - Flower girl tutu October - Pick up starfish boutonnieres (from my mom's house) October - Finish bridesmaid bouquets & pack in shoeboxes (basically glue down the ribbon) October - Finish tossing bouquet November - Ring wood box November - Glue orchids in centerpieces November - Glitter TTD heels December - Name hangers Welcome Bags October - Print & Put together "Survival Week" kits October - Put chapstick labels & protectors on chapsticks November - Make sunglasses tags ("Don't be blinded by our love") January - Decorate the bags with raffia ribbon & tags (OR wait for sale on wedding site for custom bags...eeek!) With 2 small kids, you have to prioritize or it never gets done! You've still got time for invites, especially if you have a wedding website. I've found invites are really just to say "ok you really need to start looking at booking now...", at least with my family & friends. Of course, I picked the most popular spring break weekend by accident so prices are pretty high right now for that week still decently priced but sheesh!

Update 10.1.14 Today is a flower update!! Flower Girl Ball I finished the ball, and I like it! I ended up leaving the shells and 2 smaller starfish loose. I like it! The bow was a pain, but it's pretty simple. Bridal Bouquet The florist texted me pictures today of the cascade bouquet they put together with the flowers I ordered, and I love it! I haven't seen it in person, but will pick it up tomorrow or tonight (2 sick kiddos means probably not tonight lol). She's going to add the ribbon on the handle and a charm I picked out that says "Love". Can't wait to see the finished product! (And then pack it away so it doesn't get dusty!)
