is anyone else nervous about ordering bridal jewelry online? Im usually the type of person (with clothes) that likes something online...but when I get it in person hate it. also...do u think its too much bling if I do a jeweled headband, earrings, necklace, bracelet? -
if I even do an AHR it will be very informal. Im already putting out my DW formalities. If you can't make it, its your loss. AH will either be a backyard party of something at the local pub I work at. Food will be simple. As for invites im going very informal...probably even facebook. I'm not putting myself in debt to feed or notify ppl. Only a small handful feel we are important enough to make the trip to mexico...and for that we are grateful and will honor those guests. Ive really gotten a bad attitude with planning this wedding. DWs really show u where u stand with friends.

Benefits Of A Personal Wedding Website

I used the knot... free and easy -
Interested to hear others thoughts on the situation. My FI and I are not rich/ well off people. I am underemployed and looking for a teaching job. First I would like to say I know that no one is expected/required to help us pay for the wedding. My mother makes the least amount of money out of the 3 families. She has paid for my dress, veil, accessories, alterations (everything related to dressing me) My FI's dads side has offered to pay for his suit (and anything associated with that) and they have also contributed $1,000 to the wedding fund. This is all coming from a man who was recently let go from his job and is making less than half of what he used to. Now my FI's mother & step mother (yes, they are gay) are very well off. One is at the top of the pay scale for teaching. Anyway, they have offered nothing. Which is fine...what really upsets me is that they booked a Mediterrean Cruise a month later. AND will be paying my FI's sisters entire way to our wedding (hotel, air) when she is a 30yr old woman with a full time job and living at home! Just wondering if anyone else sees something wrong with that? They complain that she is dependent then turn around and instead of teaching her to save for the vacation offer to pay for it? Meanwhile I'm working 3 jobs and my FI puts in 6 days of work a week...just in hopes that we can pull off this wedding.

interested to hear your feedback on the resorts! @@girlinthecity97 I think my situation is similar to u just reversed. Im the loner while my FI is the social butterfly. as for family. My only fam is my mom. My FI...his family is small-med. Many aren't coming tho. I don't think they're very close. Only the immediate family is coming. -
start figuring things out immediately! im getting married in april and nothing is getting done because the wedding planner in florida is awful. takes forever to hear back... ask a question u get one response. don't expect them to offer advice. I haven't made any plans other than location!!! Also, do your research! Lomas is a huge rip off! For example- its $4 to rent chair sashes...I found them online for .81cents. Good luck !

No Camera Policy for Wedding?

I also agree with someones comment above...about if ppl want to share the day with us they should be there. My bridesmaid and friend of 15 years recently backed out of going to Mexico. I can't help but be a little bitter bc we gave plenty of notice. I don't want her to see pics. also, we intend to do a small at home ceremony so family who has legit reasons to not be there can witness us marrying and the overall look will still be a surprise the day of. -

I haven't really made any plans in the way of music yet. I think a DJ is out of the question. 2 expensive for such a little wedding.

:wub:So I just recently sent in a pic of the cake I want... I think its pretty basic. I will provide the feather embellishment. The wedding consultant came back with a quote of $375!!! for a cake to feed 30!!! the brochure said 290 for their standard cake...so im getting charged $85 for a ribbon and flowers? Post your cake pics and pricing! Just curious to compare

Bridesmaid Issues
talicea7812 replied to talicea7812's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
we are actually planning on doing a small church wedding at home. we have a cousin in NY that has a severe chlorine allergy (so much that she can't stay in a hotel with a pool) and a grandmom who's terrified of flying. This way ppl who we feel had legit reasons for not making it could be a part of the religious aspect of it. I have mixed emotions on the AHR...even if it is small. WE're already putting out money in Mexico to celebrate. I just have such a bad taste in my mouth over everything. Hopefully that will go away when the situations aren't so fresh. With this wedding I feel like common courtesies have just flown out the window. We have a cousin who was engaged after us...then set her date a month b4 us. So of course we don't expect her to come to the wedding...but when it came to RSVPing...she wouldn't even respond no. She was one of the ppl that we knew wouldn't come... and of all ppl...she should know to respond. Her invites just came in the mail. guess who won't be RSVPing to that one. -

when u say making cuts...how many if you could invite all would u be inviting? Like I mentioned b4 I don't have a lot of friends. My fiancé is another story. He's everyone's best friend its part of the reason we did destination...to help cut numbers. if we were at home he would have invited like 200ppl! For at home he was having trouble narrowing it down to 120! In the end we invited 80. At this point we'll be lucky to have 20 going. I think Azul is pretty but I wish I spent more time researching b4 booking. My travel agent friend recommended Azul and palace & since Azul was a lil cheaper I just went for it. Azul is def on the pricier side of things. and since its not in cancun...im worried about things to do. when I stayed at dreams we were right on the main strip...it was a good location.
