@@Lilgabri03 Yeah, I think the only reason they waived it was because I have 110 guests, not including us. They said that's a pretty big group for a wedding, plus I'm paying the $8/person fee for the cocktail party anyway. We're using the Sky Deck for the post-ceremony cocktail party only. It's too small for our reception so we're doing that in the pool/garden area. It doesn't hurt to ask them if they'll waive it. I basically told them I think it's crap that they wouldn't waive it since it's such a big group. I think they got tired of me complaining and pestering them.

@@Smellsey I did a lot of research on resorts and Azul Fives was one of the cheapest I could find. My rate is $489/person for 3 nights all inclusive. I'm having 110 guests so I qualified for the unlimited events. So I'm doing the welcome cocktail party and the rehearsal dinner at no additional cost, which is great. They also waived the sky deck fee for me since I have so many people coming. But I think their room rates are pretty good, especially when I compared to other hotels. Good luck!

I think you just post, but don't quote a post. Do a new one. Then you'll see a paper clip type of thing at the bottom. I think. If you can't do that, would you mind please sending them to my email at khmciver@@gmail.com? Thanks! I just figured it out. When you are replying or posting, click on "more reply options" and then you'll see the paper clip at the bottom where you can attach stuff.

Hi everyone! Are we allowed to bring matches into Mexico? I know they said we can't bring sparklers, but I can't find anything about matches. Also, I assume bottles of aloe, hand sanitizer, etc. are okay to bring in (they're for my welcome bags). If anyone has any helpful info, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

@@kmk2016 - Question for you. This may be a really stupid question. What is a bolt? Ha! My wedding coordinator sent me the dimensions of the gazebo with a picture of it. If you want me to email you the picture, let me know. It's 8.10 ft wide, 9.4 ft long and 8 ft tall. I hope that makes sense. Ooh I just saw I could attach the photo! So I did!

@@sueann20 I don't have pictures of it, but I wish I did! If you happen to get any, would you mind sharing them? @@TinkerSofi Apparently the hotel has a bar, the Zky Bar which is open until 1 am. I believe they have dancing and stuff. There are also apparently a few clubs in Playa that are fun. it's 10 minutes away and I think someone said about a $12 cab ride. The hotel can probably arrange a van for you or something in advance. You may want to ask. We're planning on doing the Zky Bar.

I booked Photos in Cancun (www.photosincancun.com). They are really responsive and speak great english which makes me feel better. They're $2500 for 2 photographers + an assistant. They also give me a flash drive with all of the pictures after the event which is awesome. I've heard a lot of photographers take forever to send you your pictures. They also allow free access to all pictures so anyone can print them, share them on social media, whatever. They've been really nice and they discounted their fee to $2100 so I only have to pay $400 of the outside vendor fee. They added 3 hours of photography for the rehearsal dinner as well which is awesome. I'm just getting a day pass for that and he just happens to have a camera handy. Haha. Their package is usually 8 hours of photography day of wedding, but he also upped it to 10 hours for me at no additional cost. I highly recommend him. I read a lot of reviews online about him and they were all awesome. I literally couldn't find one bad review.

Hello! I am trying to find out what the tables and chairs look like for the basic set-up for the reception. Are the chairs just the basic white garden chairs that fold up? I'm trying to decide if I need to order bows for them. Any brides who got married at an Azul property previously, please help. Thanks!

@@LoriGran I think that's really rude of her! It puts you in a very awkward position. If you're like me, normally you wouldn't care, but since she didn't ask you BEFORE she invited them, that's really inconsiderate. Then it's just tricky because you don't want to be the mean bride who won't allow them to the wedding events because you don't want to have to pay for additional people you don't know, but then it looks bad. Just a bad situation to be put in. I'd definitely be upset with my friend if they did that. I hope it works out!

@@TinkerSofi I haven't gotten the pics of the garden/pool area yet, but I really want to see some because I don't know what it looks like!! @@BDABeachBum I remember reading about a girl who had her flowers delivered and her fiancée met them at the gate. The flowers from Lomas are ridiculously expensive, but I'm just doing flowers on half of the tables instead of all of them. I just don't want to have to worry about getting flowers that day b/c I know I'm going to be so stressed out. Eek!

Hi! Would you mind sending me pictures of the photos you have of the garden/pool area? I'm thinking about doing our reception there, but I haven't been able to see any pictures. Thank you!!! My email is khmciver@@gmail.com. Thanks again! @lilgabri03 Would you mind emailing me the chain of emails between you and the GM? I'd really appreciate it. The email is khmciver@@gmail.com. Thanks so much!! @@KScheer - I didn't put your name. My bad. Do you mind emailing me your pics of the garden/pool area for the reception? I'm thinking I'm going to do that space too, but I haven't seen many pictures. Thanks! @@Lilgabri03 - Never mind about emailing the GM email. I'm an idiot and just saw you posted it already. I totally missed it. I think we're doing half of our tables with flower centerpieces surrounded by some votives, then the other tables with hurricanes surrounded by rose petals. I'm also bringing my own sheers for the gazebo, my own table runners and my own chair sashes. The resort charges you an arm and a leg for so much of it! As for our room block, we did the biggest chunk of rooms as the deluxe room and, of course, most people are booking suites! Typical. How many people are you all expecting for your weddings? Lastly, if anyone has seen any recent reviews with pictures, can you let me know? I haven't seen any lately.
