Hey Ladies, I know some of you are doing save the dates but here are the invitations I created and sent out. I did boarding pass invitations with the passport books and put all of my travel info in the passport books, my guests loved it. It made it so much easier for me to place all the travel info in theee little books, especially stuff about the resort itself. @@Ariana2015 the rate I was given was 228 for 2 ppl in a room in the lowest room class, so that is really expensive. In the beginning Shirley was slow about emailing me back because she was getting my info together, so I am not sure if that is what is going on with her now. I can say dont go through a travel agent go directly through the resort its cheaper and you get more benefits, like free rooms and upgrades.

@@neliruz I contracted out HDC photography for the wedding and got a package with them. Tropical Studios did not get good reviews and their pics are quite expensive, so I decided to outsource another company. Only downfall is I am paying an extra 150 for him to come to the resort because of the "outside vendor" fee. @@Mandiesue I hired DJ Mannia so after dinner we will be able to have the ballroom and dance as entertainment. He has gotten really good reviews and I think he will be worth the money. We negotiated with him and got a good price for the lighted dance floor.

@@Mandiesue I sent my save the dates out last June with a brochure that had all of the travel info for La Romana and I made a wedding website with all the travel info. I didnt use a travel agent I did everything myself so it was cheaper for my guests. They booked directly through the resort, the rates I got with a group code were 228 per night for 2 ppl in the room and 164 per night for one person in the room for the Premium Garden Deluxe. I dont remember what the regular rates were. I madr everyone book early because when you book throught the resort you only pay a deposit of one nights stay and 14 days before you leave the rest of the money id due. Having them book early helped me get stuff done like the group code work on the free rooms etc. Dont worry about airfare it wont be up until about 8 months and some of my people still havent got it. I had them all download the free app hipmunk which sends you airfare alerts to your phone when the price drops.

@@Ariana2015 dress shopping is so fun, but I went so many places I got sick of it...lol the group managers name is Shirley Sanchez and she had been really efficient especially with returning emails, so im not sure whats going on because I spoke with her about a week ago. I can say the whole complimentary room situation is a mess! You are supposed to get a the 6th room free when you book six rooms, but the wording is weird where you dont know that they group all of your rooms together at the end and give you the lowest room class at the lowest rate. It took several emails and phone calls to get mones straight and it still dodnt turn ouy exactlh how I wanted it. I had my guests booking since last september so almost a year. @@strwbsprkl do whatever you and your fiance want, I hate to say it but no one else matter, its your wedding. Trust me everyone will have an opinion but you dont have to do what they say. Wedding planning is stressful, so dont let them stress you out anymore. Remember its your day, your dream your vision. Yes it was just going to be a cocktail hour welcome dinner with the beach bonfire, but Yanna said with the promotion they serve hors d'oeuvres as well, so im having both. 52 days left!!!! They are nice, I sent mine out 13 months in advance with a brochure from the resort and a brochure that I made with all the travel info so people could start booking.

I am doing the bonfire, with the free cocktail hour that I qualified for. The rehearsal dinner was too much since we have 65 people coming to our wedding.

@@Mandiesue believe it or not I did everything myself and had guests book everything directly through the resort. By doing it this way my guests received cheaper rates and I received free upgrades and 3 free rooms one up to a 7 night stay. Most of my guests are flying US airways I was able to get a 10% off discount code with them and some are flying airtran. @@strwbsprkl I booked DJ mannia he was the same price as the hotel and I was able to add in a lighted dance floor which was cheaper than the resort. He also agreed to do sound for the ceremony. I would book him because the resorts DJ has gotten horrible reviews! If you do they said you should bring a usb with the music you want played on it. @mandisue I have a layover for my flight in atlanta its only an hr. There were no direct flights on the days that I was flying out.

I have called and spoke with her before, and she would be good about emailing me back quickly in the weeks following, only to fall of again, so I stopped getting frustrated about it. I think we need to make a list of the upcoming weddings, can everyone give their dates again so that I can make the list?

@@Ariana2015 I was given a group code when I contacted group bookings last year. It gives my guests a special rate which is 114 per person per night ot 228 for 2 people in thw room. They also have a promotion when they send you the group contract that for every 5 people booked the 6th room is free (lesser room is free or the majority of nights booked room is free). @@strwbsprkl I read a post awhile back of aomeone who used the room and they said it had a nice dance floor along with a bar area, so I am sending Yanna a message to make sure.

Hey does anyone know if the ballroom comes with a dance floor? I am tentatively booked for my reception in the ballroom and I decided to get my DJ to bring a lighted dance floor not thinking that the ballroom may already come with one. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
