This is both of our second wedding's, which is why we are doing DW. While many years ago I never imagined I'd be in this situation, I couldn't be more sure that he is THE ONE for me!

We met on Eharmony too! I tell people he stalked me for a month. I was talking to other guys and every week he would look at my profile. When the guy I was talking to didn't work out I figured lets see what this guy is all about ... the rest is history!

I'd rather always be comfortable with the temperature! While I hate traffic, I'm always cold so temperature! Beach or Mountains?

I love it! Is it bad that I try to plan my shopping/ordering for some of the wedding stuff to be delivered when my FI will be out of town? I ordered a few things from VS semi annual sale for the wedding and didn't want him to see. Anytime he sees a VS package he wants to open it!

Thank you everyone for your input in this! I've read so many places that "etiquette" says you are supposed to send an invitation if they are being invited to the reception. We are having a small DW (about 12 people) and it's only by word of mouth to those we want to be there. We will be having an AHR sometime when we return (still haven't figured that out yet) and will send out invitations for the reception.

I don't think there would be much a difference between the lake and ocean. I would love to get some of the vibrant colors by the beach without costing a fortune on new stuff and worrying about ruining a camera. Thanks for your help!

I had a friend share with me another option to a sand ceremony - Unity Glass. I was considering doing a sand ceremony but couldn't figure out how I would seal it/get it home from DW without making a mess. It looks like Unity Glass could be an option. Yes it is pricey, but I think a unique idea. http://www.unityinglass.com If anyone has done this, I'd love to hear your story!

I think we are going to do a sand ceremony as well to include his boys. We aren't having any attendants so a sand ceremony (or something like it) would include them.

@@JanetandDan2014 - me too! I don't have kids of my own but I'll be getting 2! I've read lots of people who have their own kids then marrying someone else with/without kids, but not many like us who don't have children.

We planned a DW on purpose so no one, including family would feel pressure into coming especially since FI's family doesn't really travel. We didn't want anyone to feel left out but knew since we were paying for this ourselves we couldn't afford a local wedding. We've actually had to start telling people "sorry, we are keeping this small" so people don't feel pressured to come. I think in the end we will have 12 people at the ceremony. All we cared about was having us and his boys there ... anyone else was on there own. We are having a small reception and paying for that for the guests who do come but aren't doing any of the other larger DW stuff.

I want to see what people are selling too. Many of them have colors I am using and it would save $$ that I could use other places!

Speaking of waterproof cameras, has anyone used any waterproof housing devices for your iPhone? Do they work?
