This was our wedding cake. Top tier was strawberry and bottom tier is chocolate with chantilly frosting. I asked them to do an ombré effect. Location: Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort Cancun Cake topper: brought my own. It was gold glitter seahorse w/ Mr & Mrs Smith. Purchased from SugarbeeEtching on Etsy Close up -

@@JessieL. In sunrise and Nizuc the only area that I think has pillow/aroma picks is concierge levels. Sunrise and Nizuc rooms are exactly the same as one another. Only difference is sunrise has the hammocks on balcony. I believe both are not as big or setup slightly different than grand rooms. Their balconies are not as big either. Just hammock or two plastic chairs and small table We did international cocktail hour - everybody loved it. Reception we did Cajun buffet. We swapped shrimp cocktail to do cerviche instead. It's so good. The deserts were so so. Our cake was really good. We did chocolate on bottom tier and strawberry on top

We are getting married in Mexico June 23. Doing symbolic. We are getting our marriage license tomorrow May 28. We were going to get legally married June 5, but now ran into a snag and might have to wait til two days before we depart or after the wedding. My question is did any of you still do the symbolic wedding without the marriage certificate? Also were any of you still able to get the honeymoon package with only marriage license?

@TropicsBride I booked my wedding back in Dec of 2013, my wedding is actually next month June 23. You put your requests in and the sooner you do it gives you a better chance of getting it. The first person that requests it gets it first. However, the true key on locking it in is paying your PO (purchase order) before the deadline date. You get your PO around 45 days out from the wedding. Once you sign all the documents and pay the remaining balance that will lock in your locations. However, if you don't pay it by the deadline date the resort can give your 1st choice location to the next person that requested it.

If they changed policies after you signed they have to honor what the rates were back when signed. That is how I locked in few things. We started working with palace back in late 2013 so I was able to lock in few things plus we didn't pick our photographer until they offered the 400 deal so we were able to lock that. Every year more things change, every resort is like that. @@KatyM81 did you do the dolphin excursion? I know they moved it to off site. Just wondering how many hours of the day does it take up now? And what do they have at the dock where the dolphins use to be? Also, I keep getting conflicting info on using the vip area of Nior. I first heard it was only $100 something per bottle service. Then I was told its about $300-400 for a table for 6. Does any one actually know? I just want to be able to reserve the upper back area of the club and who exactly to contact. We have 30 people but I only think maybe 20-25 might go.

Bridesmaids Hair Questions
misbosox replied to misbosox's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Thanks for all the advice ladies. I think everything will work out. I have one bridesmaid that is good at doing hair so she wanted to do her own. she doesn't like others doing her hair All my other bridesmaids that are staying the full week want to use their credits so I'm going to pay their taxes for them. I have one bridesmaid that is only going for 3 days only so won't have many credits. So, with that and mostly because she was the one who took charge of my bachelorette party I'm going to pay for her hair in full as a gift for the party. -
For those that did not require your bridesmaids to get hair professionally done but they could get done at salon or stylist did you pay for it or did the bridesmaids pay? I have 5 bridesmaids. My resort charges $108 for hair. We can use resort credits and only pay the tax which is great. The only issue is the resort limits your total spa credit per room. My worry is I have a few girls only staying 3-4 nights, they only get $100-150 in credits to use at salon. If they want to do massage or other service then won't have enough credits to use towards hair. I have no problem paying the 16% tax for each of them if they use credits. I just don't think I can pay for myself plus $108 x 5 bridesmaids if they don't use credits. I need to book appointments soon for this. How did you all go about this or asking your BM if they wanted to do their own hair or use credits at salon or pay full?

@@nelmo I was told by my onsite that if its a family member/guest using professional equipment then you can be charged the $400 fee. If they are using a regular video camera/ photo camera or phone then no charge. My worry is my grooman has a good quality camera and a tripod he was going to bring to use for filming our weeding. so we will see. The reason behind this is because of past brides on sites like this one and Facebook stating how they were going to just hire an outside vendor and book them a 1-2 night stay to get out of paying the full $800 vendor fee. Resort caught on to this so this is a way for them to deal with it. If they ask who is doing your photo/video just tell them no vendor just family taking it. But I would bring extra money just in case it is pro equipment and they charge you when you check out.

Question we live in Texas and are planning on legally getting married 2 weeks before our wedding in cancun. I know texas only has 3 day waiting period after obtain license to get married. But how long after do we get the marriage certificate? What if we don't get it in time how do we prove to hotel that we were married so we qualify for the honeymoon package?
-
so ladies I wrote to my new coordinator to get clarify on if a guest is filming video or photography for your wedding. She stated that if its a guest with Professional Equipment then it is a $400 fee. Even thought they are staying under your group wedding block. It would be labeled on your purchase order as: "Guest with a professional photography/video equipment 400.00 UDS fee will be applicable with a booked room under the same group contract" If its a guest with just a regular camera or camera phone that's okay no fee since not Proffesional equipment used. I'm guessing this is something they just started this year or recently, probably due to not many booking with their vendor. Plus there has been too many brides in the past that had hired professional photo/video companies and had them book a 1 or 2 night stay under their room block to avoid the outside vendor fee. Palace caught on and this is how they are dealing with it now. Also, if you do you an actual outside vendor (not a guest) the fee is $800 for the 1st day. If you have that same vendor and they come to shoot another day (lets say TTD, Goodbye party, etc few days after wedding) - then there is a fee of $250 for the additional day. Also, if you do the outside vendor you may need to purchase a day pass or/and pay also the $55 fee to allow them to eat during the wedding.

Wondering if any of you have heard of photography/video outside vendor fee changing? When I had booked a year ago they had a special that it was $400. Then recently they changed it back to original price of $800. we had told my coordinator prior were only using outside photographer vendor but for video one of our guests was filing it. She said since its a guest we don't pay a vendor fee. Now I heard from another bride that she was just told that even if they stay as a guest there is a fee "guest with professional equipment fee applied when booking under same group contract" Fee $400 Has anyone else heard of this?

@FutureMrsSam you can do what we are. Just ask them to set up the cocktail hour on the grassy area exactly next to the terrace. Usually they use the grassy area across the walkway, but just ask your coordinator and they can accommodate it. @Moonpalacebride2be - We have less than 3 months to go! We are getting married at Moon on June 23, 2015. Right now just waiting for last minute guests to book. We have right now 21 guests booked, but after the rest do we should have about 37-43 guests total. We are getting married at the Tucan Gazebo, cocktail hour booked for Tucan Garden and reception for Tucan Terrace. What we are going to do is use the grassy area just to the right of Terrace for our cocktail hour. Typically the garden area is right next to the gazebo, but you can always ask to do it right next to terrace if you want. Just got to ask. We figured it would be easier for the Music Vendor to have the speakers right there. We are doing the complimentary package. Vendors: PSAV for Ipod system setup. Bicoastal Images for wedding day and TTD photography (outside vendor) Hair & Makeup - using resort salon. trying to save $ so using resort credits for this Add-ons: horse carriage ride 1 extra hour to reception 1 extra tier to cake (cake flavors: chocolate on bottom layer, strawberry on top layer) Colors: Coral, Aqua and Gold Flowers: DIY made myself 7 bridesmaid bouquets 1 bridal bouquet. using the free one from resort for toss. we are going to use the bridesmaid bouquets after for centerpieces. Décor: bringing my own table runners, signs, chair sashes, starfish chair hangers, DIY menus, DIY vases, Mr&Mrs signs. I have more. really need to start typing up my planning board for you all...
