  1. @FutureMrsSam   you can do what we are.  Just ask them to set up the cocktail hour on the grassy area exactly next to the terrace.   Usually they use the grassy area across the walkway, but just ask your coordinator and they can accommodate it.

@Moonpalacebride2be   -  We have less than 3 months to go!  We are getting married at Moon on June 23, 2015.  Right now just waiting for last minute guests to book.    We have right now 21 guests booked, but after the rest do we should have about 37-43 guests total.

We are getting married at the Tucan Gazebo,  cocktail hour booked for Tucan Garden and reception for Tucan Terrace.  What we are going to do is use the grassy area just to the right of Terrace for our cocktail hour.    Typically the garden area is right next to the gazebo, but you can always ask to do it right next to terrace if you want.  Just got to ask.   We figured it would be easier for the Music Vendor to have the speakers right there.

We are doing the complimentary package.

    Vendors:

    PSAV for Ipod system setup.

Bicoastal Images for wedding day and TTD photography    (outside vendor)

Hair & Makeup -  using resort salon.    trying to save $ so using resort credits for this

    Add-ons:

    horse carriage ride

    1 extra hour to reception

1 extra tier to cake    (cake flavors:   chocolate on bottom layer,  strawberry on top layer)

    Colors:     Coral, Aqua and Gold

Flowers:   DIY  made myself   7 bridesmaid bouquets   1 bridal bouquet.   using the free one from resort for toss.  we are going to use the bridesmaid bouquets after for centerpieces.

    Décor:  bringing my own

table runners, signs, chair sashes,  starfish chair hangers, DIY menus, DIY vases, Mr&Mrs signs. I have more.

really need to start typing up my planning board for you all...

  2. @NMungarro  we are going to try to set up most of our décor our selves.  They told me if we set up ourselves there is no fee.  If we have the resort set it up then they charge starting at $100 up, depending on how much and how difficult to set up.  We are also arriving on Saturday.   Only few more months away! so exciting

  3. @@Wafflesmom ours is Brenda. I've been working with her since this summer and she is my on site also. Almost done with planning. Best tip I can give make sure everything you have in writing. All my phone conversations I followed up with them via email as we'll. that way if any changes to pricing or anything I have proof of what we originally agreed on. Big example at time I booked the outside vendor fee for photographers only was lowered to $400. Now they brought it back up to $800. I asked my coord if when I confirmed with photographer and resort back when it was $400 and have it in writing from her, she said they will honor it. Have you done a site visit? If not it's good to do one.

  4. @NMungarro   Congrats on picking a resort!  We actually get married the same week as you there!  We will be getting married two days before you on Tuesday 23rd at Toucan Gazebo.    Maybe we will get to run into one another while there!     Moon Palace is a beautiful resort.   For us we are pretty much bringing all our own décor except we are going to rent some lighting and sound system.  For the sound system so far we got a better quote through PSAV.  For décor I would say contact all three vendors,  give them your ideas and see what they have to offer.  Also don't forget to ask the vendors their setup, delivery fees, etc.  We want either lights wrapped around palms or tiki torches, but not all of the vendors offer it.   Your wedding is Thursday right?  - the nightclub on site is only open certain nights of the week.  Its open Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sat 10p-3 or 5am.  One thing we are doing is instead of paying for extra hours to have our reception keep going we are going to invite our party to join us at Nior after since its open.  Just a suggestion since yours is on one of the nights its open.  Who is your coordinator that you are working with?

  5. past Palace brides or those that have stayed there:   Does anyone remember how much the maracas sold for in the gift shops and what colors they had?    Or if anyone will be there soon can take a pic of the colors?    I remember they sold them, separately, pairs and I thought I seen a deal buy 3 for $15 or something like that.

We want to do maracas and I know I can get them cheaper through Amols, but traveling with all of them down won't be too fun.  Already have enough to bring down.

  6. I'm trying not to.   Its just really hurting my fiancé cuz these are the ones that have been blabbing to everyone how excited they are about going kept talking about it all the time and now aren't. Or at least saying they aren't.   My brother can't go and would love to have him there but I know he couldn't afford it.  Its understandable.   the only issue we have now is not enough time to do our own wedding stuff: register, shower, parties, still have to pick out our rings,  etc.   Starting next month up until May we are swapped with everyone else's wedding stuff to go to.  Everything is out of state.

  7. Our room reduction deadline is about 6 weeks away in March. If we reduce prior to it we can do so without penalty. Our wedding is June. We sent our save the dates 15 months in advance with link to our wedding website with info on booking/pricing. We sent our invites back in December. Only few RSVP have trickled back.

We invited 87, 64 said they were definitely going. Only 17 guests have booked (9 rooms = 41 total nights).

We just had two groomsmen pull out and one couple say they can't go due to unexpected finances (which is funny cuz he inherited thousands of $$$).

How should I word an email or Facebook message to our guests to nicely ask them to be honest if they are going or not. Plus get them to start booking or at least put a deposit on their room?

I've been stressing for a while about this. Now my fiancé is sad/upset cuz more than 1/2 his friends just pretty much backed out. Sucks, we have gone to all these friends own DW but all are bailing on us. Plus my fiancé is paying for his own bachelor party and hotel for his friends traveling in town. More than 80% aren't coming to our wedding!

Just so frustrated. Any suggestions how to word this to everyone to tell us yes/no and to let them know must book soon.

I have 14 that RSVP back saying they are going (7 couples) but having bad feeling. Just praying to get to at least 60 nights total booked.

    :(

  8. We have been engaged since fall of 2013. We decided to do our wedding this June to give everyone enough time to save and plan. We had about 87 guests saying they were wanting to go, 65 of them kept saying definite. Then this August we had 4 sets of friends all get engaged and 3 of them are having their wedding right before ours. Two in different cities. So with that we figured those couples were out. Luckily one of them still coming to ours. Last month we had two groomsmen pull out since their wives just got pregnant which is understandable. I have one bridesmaid who been playing phone tag with so gonna guess she's out. Now we just had 4 sets of friends say cant go now. One of which my fiancé so mad about. The friend excuse in expected finances, but the friend just inherited thousands of $$ plus sold his car for $45,000. Been going on other trips but can't go to ours for 3 days Cuz expenses! Just sucks, we know we probably won't make our 75 nights needed for unlimited events at palace. I'm praying we at least make 60, but might not. What sucks more my fiancé's friends are all coming to tx from out of state for his bachelor party and HE is paying for it!!! He's paying over $500 to put them all up at hotels here and more than half aren't even going to our wedding now. Just so bummed and mad. We have flown and gone to every single one of these peoples weddings and most have been DW also. My poor fiance was so upset today about it. Never seen him so sad about something before.

  9. @Kayla88    Besides the beach bags, yes they will be getting them gifts as well.

I also got the girls each a custom hand bag I had made from etsy.  Its chevron in our wedding colors.  So, far I also purchased each of them a necklace now just searching for earrings to match.  Then will be making custom dress hangers for them.

here is a picture of the custom bags and the necklaces.

  10. you can.  We sent our RSVP out really early about 10 mths prior to the wedding with info of our wedding website.  That way our guests could have an idea of how much to save.   I just sent out our invitations this month for our wedding in June - so 6 months prior.   The reason I sent mine so early is because by march they have to have 50% deposit down and soon after that if we need to release room blocks without penalty

  11. For past brides what did you do for lighting? Who did you go through? Do you remember an est cost?

Any pics of how it was set up ?

Our reception is at 6:30pm Tucan Terrace. We wanted X effect of hanging paper lanterns but one vendor told me we would need to rent 4 sets to get that effect at $140 per set. Plus set up fee and tax. Crazy to spend 650-800 just for paper lanterns.

Just trying to get ideas to save $ to use for other things
