We will be paying extra for over head count at reception. For welcome dinner we are just planning on meeting at one of the restaurants than is included with the all inclusive that way we are not paying extra. There we will hand out or welcome bags. Saving us $4 per bag. The other thing we may pay extra for is a cocktail party after the reception

This is my concern too. We are having a destination wedding. My youngest will be 3 years old. We would have my fiancé parents there to help take her so we can have alone time. However, I feel bad cuz i want to have fun but not have them babysit the whole trip

This is also what I'm afraid of. We have similar budget. My concern is the added costs for over 40 guest count and the cost for my guests to stay.

Ours is out of control too. At first I figured we would be good with a resort that has a package for 40 guests. After going through our guest list it's now 69 and climbing !!! Stressing on wether to cut it down or just pay up the extra head count past 40

Great question I am also wondering about this. I just got back from a destination wedding and we gave the couple a card. However, didn't see anyone else do so. Not sure if everyone did in private or not at all

We are also looking at the same resorts. We love the riviera maya area since it's easy non-stop or one stop flight for all our families in Dallas, Kansas City and Boston. Plus so many flight options to this and cancun. I recently stayed at Azul Beach. Not much for nightlife no clubs or anything like that. However the rooms, service and food oh my the food was amazing!!!! They have many other resorts through the area. Some are adults only and some family friendly. They are part of the Karisma resorts

Congrats! We are looking at having our wedding at the Azul as well. Do you know if there is a max limit to how many guests you can have? We are inviting about 50-67

I have heard that Karisma resorts do a bridal rehearsal for about $300 per couple for 3nts. They do it once a month. You get to see ceremony locations, reception locations, decor, good tastings etc. I know they did this all of 2013. I'm hoping they continue this in 2014 cuz we are hoping to check out one of their resorts

Congrats and happy planning. I am in the same boat. We are looking at the same resorts plus the azul Sensatori We are having about the same number guests. Just trying to find the best option without paying so much more for extra head count.
