  2. Hi there, We're having our wedding in Negril, this December at Seawind resort, were having 70+ guests. We also found it hard to get prices in the beginning too!! As far as I know, the hotel has only opened its doors a few months ago. I was in Negril in December, and they didn't look open yet. For our wedding we're using vendors outside of our hotel, as it worked out much cheaper. The cost of the food and beverages, administration (wedding license etc..), DJ and hotel room is 6,500 USD. Our photographer is Sungolds associates, and they are costing 1325 USD, our flowers/ decor is by pat gar in Montego bay, that's including flowers, linens etc.. 2000 USD, and make up, I'm getting Queen bee, and i'm paying 350 USD for me and two bridesmaids hair and make up. I haven't got a cake ordered yet, my mother in-law is going to order it for us, closer to the big day. These prices may change depending on inflation etc.. so that may be why its hard to get prices right now, but I hope that gives you an idea. Happy planning :-)
  3. Hey, that's a great idea!!! How about Tarrus Riley, he is a big Reggae artist, especially his song She's Royal, and Berres Hammond, Rockaway. Hope that helps :-)
  4. Hi everyone, we're getting married on 30th of December 2014, at Seawind resort Negril. We're having 70 guests, mainly my Fiancées family ( they all live locally) can't wait for the big day!!
  5. Hi Tish, congratulations on your engagement!! I'm getting married thus December in Jamaica, and we're using local florists an wedding suppliers. We are using pat gar wedding services , here's her e-mail shawnpatgar@hotmail. com, or 876-971-4336, she's located in Montego bay. Her prices are pretty reasonable. I'm not sure how smoothly shipping to Jamaica would go. You may end up having to pay customs etc. It may work out costing you more, than getting local florists. My fiancée is Jamaican, and we're planning to ship our invitations, and suits for the bridal party to his family soon, I'll let you know how it goes. All the best with the planning :-)
  6. Anyone had experience with Delta?how are they with carry on's and do they allow you to bring your dress as a carry on? Amy advice would be greatly appreciated!!
  7. We've just booked sungold's associates, WPA Jamaica. They have been very helpful. We've booked Chris, as we like his style of photography the ,most. The packages start at 1,175, which is very reasonable, in comparison to other prices we were quoted. Here's a link to their site http://wpajamaica.com/
  8. Hi all, I just was just wondering if anyone can recommend a hair/make up stylist in Negril? Heard of Queen bee, anyone used them? Are they good? Thanks!! :-)
  9. Hey, I'm getting married in December 2014, and I had such a tough time trying to get a venue!!! Most of our guests are living on the island, and don't need a room.... so a lot of hotels were out of the question, because the require a certain amount of rooms to be booked... so unfair. We looked at hummingbird hall, in Montego bay http://www.hummingbirdhall.com We also looked at a private villa in Negril called llantrasant http://www.beachcliff.com There was also Rhodes hall plantation in Orange bay ( just outside Negril) and Sandy Haven in Negril, and Seawind resort in Negril, also grand pineapple in Negril ( those 3 are on the 7 mile beach) and as far as I know they don't have a minimum amount of rooms to be booked, or a minimum amount of nights either. We've just booked Seawind resort in in Negril :-) so excited!!! :-) :-) Hope some of that was useful :-)
  10. Hi there, I'm not too familiar with what's available in Montego bay, but I know there's Hummingbird hall in Montego bay.http://www.hummingbirdhall.com They don't provide accommodation, but it's a private house, and they would only do 1 wedding a day. Also in Negril there's a lovely private villa, it's called llantrisant, here's link http://www.beachcliff.com We're still deciding on a wedding supplier, but the 2 suppliers we're talking to are, Pat Gar sales and services, their number is 876-971-4336, don't have a website, but they should be able to send you info via e-mail. The other place is called the wedding centre, their e-mail is weddingcentrembj@@gmail. com Both of those places provide everything from flowers, table linen, favours, decorations etc.... Hope that helps! :-)

There store is on the main Beach Road next to Rooms / Alfreds. Try them I hope you like them as much as I do so far. Hi Soontobe Mrs , I see you said you were using Elite upscale weddings. How did you find them? I've been considering using them for our wedding in 2014, I'd love to hear your feed back! Thanks
  12. We've found a planner in Negril, Faithful wedding services. Has anyone ever used there services before? I'd love to hear your experiences! Thanks
  13. Thanks for your reply! We've made some progress, been talking to one planner, and hopefully we can get the ball rolling soon! Good luck with your wedding! happy planning!
  14. Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good wedding planner in Negril? Myself and my Fiance are planning to get married in Negril or Orange Bay in December 2014. We are going over this Christmas to hopefully meet with a planner and book our venue. I'd really appreciate if anyone can recommend a planner. Thanks
  15. Hi there, Myself and my Fiance are planning to get married in Negril in December 2014. We have looked at a few hotels, and looked a websites from some wedding planners, but we seem to be meeting shout doors everywhere we turn. Are we barking up the wrong tree, trying to get married in December? I know it is the busiest time of year, but surely it wouldn't be too hard to get a venue? We don't require a lot of rooms, as my Fiance is Jamaican, and it will mainly his family attending the wedding, only my Sister and her Husband will attending the wedding from my side. I'd like to know, has anyone else met such obstacles or is it just us? We are feeling quite deflated about the whole thing, and we'd love to hear other people's experiences or thoughts. Many thanks!
  16. Hi there, We're are trying to get started on planning our wedding for December 2014. We were hoping to get married just after Christmas, but it seems like a lot of the Hotels won't host our wedding, as it is 'too busy'. We don't have many guests coming in from overseas, as most of the guests are my Fiance's family, who either live in Jamaica, or can stay with family members there, so block booking rooms won't be necessary. I know it is high season over the Christmas holidays, but I didn't think they wouldn't be able to host a wedding. Are we barking up the wrong tree? should we just forget about having a wedding as this time of year? has anybody else experienced this? feeling quite deflated about it.We just seem to be hitting closed doors. Maybe someone out there can share their experiences with us? Thanks
