What Resort Are You Getting Married At...
krisdaversa replied to HEZZA's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
@@HEZZA We picked Melia Las Dunas, Cayo Santa Maria Cuba. Not only is Cuba cheaper but we got an amazing deal plus we know over 7 couples who have gone to this resort and loved it! and have gone again plus our travel agent goes there a ton. They also offer great wedding packages and if you want to add on they aren't over expensive. They actually have a few areas that you have for your cocktail/dinner/dancing that is private, they also have areas were you share with the general public and they have places you can rent out as well and I think the price was 11CUC per person The most important factor to us were a few things 5 star resort, price and wedding packages. We had looked at a few resorts and for the price of a wedding package we could have just done it downtown Toronto.- 16 replies

@@rvalenka I think its kind of hard to put an RSVP on a destination wedding only because you are able to buy last minute packages so people who are wanting to go but can afford it may wait till the very end. I will know roughly how many guest I will have by March so I am just going to buy 6 over my guest count (3 couples)

We finally just put down our deposit for our photographer! I'm super excited about that. Pictures were extremely important to me and I was also picky. As most couples who pick a destination wedding we were on a budget so we found our resort the next important thing to me was photographer. After looking around and contacting many places I loved only to be told we would have to pay the way there for them was heart breaking for me because that was not going to happen plus there high fees. I then email Kevin and Christine and their email stated they pay there own way, I didn't believe it and after asking a few times more I was beyond excited to find out that they really pay their own way to any destination! If you are interested check out their website http://kevinandchristinephotography.com/

@@A7Xtrish I think online RSVP is fine I have one on mine but no one has used it yet, I actually included a little note card with all the details of the trip and the travel agent and I told them to go right to her if they wished to book and in return my travel agent just sends me an update once someone books.

2013 & 2014 Iberostar Laguna Azul, Cuba Brides!
krisdaversa replied to Kay6356's topic in Cuba Weddings
@@csho The spa terrace is beautiful!!! If I was going to get married at that hotel I would have picked the terrace as well. Just make sure there is no activities going on in the pool because it gets super loud up there. -
I sent out save the dates without all the details. I wanted my guest to know what we were planning and to be able to save. We gave them a rough idea for cost $1,300 or under and a destination (Cuba) and we also put the month we were looking at (January) So I think it is totally fine for not putting all the details.

My FI and I really didn't want to register but my parents convinced us because a few people kept asking, we have a small condo downtown Toronto and only just started looking into buying a home (so far we haven't found any we liked) so we really didn't have space for anything. We only picked one store, The Bay it's similar to your Macy or Nordstrom. We only registered for bar items, wine glasses (red and white) brandy snifters, etc We are storing our stuff at my parents, we only gave out our information on registry stuff when ask. We tried to keep everything at a 'normal' price items, so who ever was looking at it could pick out things in their price range. I went with my mom and my grandmother to register, my FI didn't want to come and it wasn't a big deal to me if he did. So maybe you could just go solo with a few people if this isn't too important to you

Mother Of The Bride Flowers And Charms?
krisdaversa replied to krisdaversa's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Thanks for the input, We are getting married in Cuba so there isn't a whole lot to pick from and some of the prices I have talked to who got their flowers from the resorts they were stuck with whatever flowers they had and some had a mix of real flowers and fake flowers so we have chose to take real touch flowers down. My mom is not happy with that but I would hate to get stuck with ugly flowers/fake flowers from the dollar store. We are ordering from here Bloom Bridal ( had amazing reviews and so great to work with. I got a quote back yesterday and the price was great! -

Any other brides of 2016? Do we need to prepare now?
krisdaversa replied to 27dress's topic in Newbies!!
@@27dress Congratulations! I am not getting married 2016 but rather 2015. We started to rough plan in July 2013 and we just set out our budget and started ordering this. We decided that if we bought things early enough then we wouldn't be over whelmed with large bills near the end. I find it helps a lot! We officially picked out colors out at the start of January after a few months playing around and looking around. We just ordered our chair sashes and table rubbers.
