  1. I plan on bringing what I can. So far I'm using the white linens from the resort and I'm bringing a burlap and lace table runner and burlap chair ties. I also plan to bring pilar candles for the table and possibly some papel picado in hopes that they will hang it. I do plan to rent three vases for the bouquets. I also saw that some brides had maracas as favors which looked great on the table...so possibly some of those as well!
  2. I went back and read recent posts and saw all of your details for the day for those brides with wedding coming up soon. No need to repeat it.
  3. Let me know how you ladies make out with the credit. This has probably been talked about already but what are your details? I'm 8/22 5pm ceremony on the beach. I'm thinking either Las Olas or the Pier for cocktail. Not sure about reception. I'm know it's going to be soooo hot so I'm leaning toward Barcelona. But I love the Lobster House.
  4. I recently tried to get the outside vendor fee waived with no luck. Let me know if you get anywhere with that. I love my photographer so much though that I think the fee will be totally worth it! Happy planning everyone!
  5. Hi Kari! I think you were asking someone else but I'm going with an outside photographer. I've heard mixed reviews on Beach Wedding Studios. Although there have been some brides in here that have been very happy with them. I wanted more than what they offers and a different style/look. I'm getting married in August and booked Lucidem Photography. His name is Vincent. He used to work with Del Sol and he is amazing! Not sure is you ladies saw my previous post about being worried about Jessica? My worries have been put to rest. She has responded to all of my emails right away and when I pushed the menu issue a second time she agrees to allow two entree options for my guests!
  6. Thanks Teal Marie! That does help. I knew that I have read on here that they have given multiple options to Brides who requested it. I am not worried about the food tasting good. I have been to ERC and know that all the food is wonderful. I was just starting to get nervous when I have been hearing for months about how they can customize and now that I am getting down to the details there does not seem to be any wiggle room for changes. I am trying to stay positive b/c I know in the end it will all be great. It's just hard to compromise on food! LOL
  7. Hi again ladies! My wedding is August 22nd. I just found out today that my wedding coordinator is now Jessica as well. Any one having any luck with her? She has been great with responding to my emails quickly which is good but I have had a few road blocks. So far I have been informed that they will not waive my outside vendor fee for my own photograher even though I will not be using the in house person included in the Gold package. I knew this was a gamble b/c I have read on this blog that they have waived it for some brides but not all. It seemed to have just depended on who your coordinator was. So I am not too upset about that. I booked my photographer knowing I would have this fee. I am concerned about what I was told by Jessica regarding the menu. I was told I have to choose one entree. I know that they have allowed brides to have two options as long as they provided a count ahead of time. I emailed Jessica today explaining that some of my guests eat fish and some meat. I am waiting to hear back from her. Has anyone else run into this? I am not sure how to handle this. I have been very laid back along the way here but I would hate to order a meal that I know only half my guests will eat. It just seems like a waste. Any suggestions?
  8. My first choice was the Lobster House which is already booked for another wedding. Thanks for your honest feedback! Congrats on booking your date! When are you getting married? My date is 8/22/14! I have read on here that some brides did bring down some of their own decorations. I plan to bring a few odds and ends (a table runner, maybe some ribbons) but I actually like the simplistic look so will not be bringing much! I am not sure if it was suggested to you or not yet but when I first came to this forum I read it from the very beginning and took notes along the way. There is sooo much helpful info on here in past posts.
  9. Thank you so much for this review! You looked amazing and seemed to have exactly what you were hoping for! I am getting married in August and think I may change my reception option after reading your review. We were planning to have it in the foyer but if you were hot in November I cannot imagine how hot it will be in the Foyer in August. We might have to opt for Barcelona which scares me a bit since I have only seen it as the buffet.
  10. Yes this helps a lot! I'm there in August so it will be just as hot. I'm torn between Barcelona and the Foyer. I'm glad to hear you were able to go check out the locations and possibly change it last minute if you needed to. I'm thinking we are going to choose the Foyer and hope that Gloria allows us to change it to Barcelona if it's too hot. It funny b/c the first thing my photographer said when he found out my wedding date was "Wow! It's going to be hot!" I'm figuring we are all going to be in Mexico though having a blast so who cares about a little heat!
  11. Ampanda52- you were married in July right? Was your reception in the foyer? You might have already said this. There a just so many posts on here. I'm wondering how hot it was? I remember you talking about a nice breeze on the beach for your reception and cocktail hour. What about the foyer?
  12. I'm interested to hear about the food as well. I've been to ERC before and know that all of the food is so good so it's going to be a tough decision. I was wondering if anyone used the extra room that is included in the package for the groom the night before the wedding? I know it says "based on availability" so I was wondering of couples actually got to use that option. I'm hoping to have that option and host a "girls sleepover" that night.
  13. I'm glad to hear Gloria has been great! We already have our date booked and I pretty much know what details I want so maybe I will just get it settled now. TealMarie you may have already posted this earlier but what are the details of your day?
  14. TrishaJ34- You look amazing! Your sunset photos are amazing! We decided on keeping our wedding date and having the 1pm ceremony. You are correct about the wedding being unpredictable so I am just gonna go with it. TealMarie- You must be beside yourself with excitement! How far in advance did you choose your ceremony and reception location? Gloria told me that I did not need to decide until a month before the date but I am worried that the options would become more limited if they get picked by another bride before me.
  15. Hi ladies! This is my second time trying to post so hopefully it goes through. I am getting married on 8/22/14! I was hoping to get some advice on ceremony times. I wanted to have a 5pm but that is unavailable on my day. The only time is 1pm. I am really nervous that it is going to be too hot and wondering if I should change the date. We have already booked and sent out information to our guests about our 8/22 ceremony so it will mean a little work to change the date. Are any of you brides getting married in the afternoon?
  16. Hello Ladies! I just signed on. I am getting married at ERC on August 22, 2014! I need some advise about my day. I have been to ERC and absolutely love it. From the day I got engaged I have pictured having a sunset wedding on their beach. Unfortunately the sunset time slot is already booked and I have my ceremony scheduled for 1pm. This changes my entire vision as far as location, photos, etc. I wanted to have my reception at the Lobster House which is not available at that time. Have any of you brides had the afternoon ceremony? Or are any of you planning on it? I am not sure where to have our reception that will not be in the blazing sun. I did not want to use the foyer. Any thoughts?
