@@Sabes44 and @@hapykat I was undecided about DJ until recently. There are 30 of us and I decided to go for it. Then we don't have to worry about anything. I am getting married on the beach! I did notice the stripes that the sun and shade make under the pergola but for me that's one thing I like about it. I think the pics come out pretty cool looking with all the shadows. I think you will defiantly have to be ok with that look if you choose the beach.

@@Sabes44 I am getting married this August! Two months away! Last summer I spent countless hours searching several resorts. There were a few that I liked but ultimately decided on ERC! We had traveled to this resort in the past and it is amazing! The resort is absolutely beautiful and the staff are wonderful. Every bride that has posted pics on here their wedding look amazing! My top two choices were Secrets Maroma and ERC. In the end there was no question! @@karijean Kari thanks for the long review. It helps so much to get all of these details. Your wedding looked amazing and you were beautiful. You look like you had a blast!! Thanks for all your help.

@@karijean Happy Wedding Day!!!! I know you are not reading this but wanted to say Congratulations! I cannot wait to see pics and hear all about it! Sadly I do not believe that Excellence offers any perks like that. I think it is worth it anyway. The price is great for what you get. This resort is amazing and I am sure that you were able to read all of the great reviews about the weddings people have had here. That's great about the promo code. My only suggestion would be to check out the resort website directly before you go through the travel agent. I was originally going through a TA but then discovered that the resort site offered 30% off for the dates we were going to be there. It was such a better deal this way. I only have 30 guests though so you may need a TA to help you organize 80 people. WOW so exciting! I bet you can't wait for next year to come. I felt the same way this time last year!

I have a 5pm ceremony. Jessica told me the cocktail hour would start at 5:30 and reception at 6:30. So people will not be waiting around.

We are doing two excursions actually. We are taking our guests to Coco Bongo in Playa Del Carmen one night to party it up and we are also taking a day trip later in the week to Xel Ha. I have heard the Tres Leches cake is amazing! Enjoy your trip!!!!!

That is so exciting! We are not doing welcome bags. We booked an excursion for guests as a Thank you and are just having welcome letters. I didn't know there was a cake option! Which did you pick?

I was so upset when I found that out for myself. I had been watching their work for a long time. When I contacted them they referred me to Lucidum Photography. Vincent used to work with them until he branched out on his own. He seems amazing! He has the same style as Del Sol.

I hired Lucidum Photography. Amazing! I cannot wait. I think we are gonna go with the DJ. Originally we were thinking to just use speakers but we really don't want to have to be worried about anything. I will keep you ladies posted on Lobster House.

@@Crystal17 and @@upstatekj I am keeping my fingers crossed for the Lobster House as well. I'm coming up close to the 3 month mark but Jessica also told me we cannot book the Lobster House unless we have 35 people. We are currently 30. I'm hoping she makes an exception. We are having the ceremony on the beach and cocktail hour at Las Olas.

Congrats on your wedding! I'm getting married in August and started planning a year out so you're right on schedule! The time goes fast. We went back and forth on the room decision so many times. We knew we would book the club (def worth it!) but couldn't decide on room. We ultimately decided on the suite with rooftop terrace instead of the honeymoon suite. I think it's worth to get a little something extra for such a special occasion. We thought we would use the private lounge area and plunge pool on the roof more then we would an extra room. Whatever you choose it will be amazing!

I am having my mother make my table runner so she can make it as long as I need. Or if I end up needing multiple she customize it for me. Thanks for the info on DJ Mania! I will have to check out the reviews! I am still deciding on my reception. Currently I have 30 guests and Jessica informed me that I need 35 to have it at the Lobster House. I'm hoping she will make an exception. If she is willing to than I am definitely going with the Lobster House! I have to bring my maracas with b/c I know I will not have enough time to get them when I am there. I'm not really sure what I will do since I have booked my photographer for the entire time. Maybe I will use them to stay behind if there is a time that I go off with my wedding party to get shots. Not sure if I will do that though b/c I don't want to miss a minute of it! Otherwise I guess it will just be extra photos. I hope they don't get in each others way! I think candles will be a really nice touch! I have approx 30 so far. Possibly a few more. I haven't talked to Jessica about it yet but I'm hoping to have one long table. Not sure if you ladies are still looking for wedding jewelry but I'm having mine designed by Red-i by Chelsea. She designs hand made pieces. Absolutely gorgeous! I'm having a cuff made for myself and turquoise necklaces made for my bridesmaids. And to make things even better... she was an ERC bride like the rest of us! Just figured I'd share that. What are you ladies doing about a DJ vs having your own music? I haven't decided yet.
