  3. @@upstatekj I had a customized "passport" as my invitation so I had a page devoted to the location of the wedding. I had a photo from the resort in the background and then I had the resort name, address and a description of the resort. We should meet up soon! I will bring my invite to show you! PS...Got my pics today from Lucidum Photography and they are amazing! I will try to get those and my review up ASAP. Sorry for the delay everyone.
  4. We used the Caribbean trio b/c I wanted the same thing....upbeat. With that said...it was still pretty laid back. It was nice having them there. They went with the atmosphere nicely!
  5. @@Sabes44 and @@Crystal17 I brought all of my supplies for the Welcome Bags and extra decoration for the reception with me. I just paid to have an extra bag checked on the way to Mexico. I think it worked out being less expensive then what it would be if I shipped everything. I did end up getting the "red light" going through customs when we got into Cancun and they searched all of my bags. They definitely started to question all of the stuff I had in that suitcase but once I explained I was getting married it was fine. I would recommend bringing it with you. I did have papel picado and maracas shipped directly to the resort but that is only b/c they were made in Puerta Vallarta and it was easier to do it that way. They arrived with no problem. I just got home from my honeymoon and am getting settled so I promise I will write an extensive review soon!!
  6. That is too funny! Yes! I would love to do that! In the mean time feel free to look me up on Facebook. You can find me through Danielle's page. Hello ladies! ERC was amazing! Exactly as I remembered it from my visit 5 yrs ago! We are still in Mexico as we are spending an extra week in Playa Del Carmen for out honeymoon. I will be sure to post my review and pics as soon as I can! @@karijean is right! Last week they had 2 fire shows. One on the beach and one in main plaza. We had a DJ and he was amazing. The night went so fast I don't know that I would have wanted to stop the partying for extra entertainment!
  7. @@Sabes44 is correct. It is $500 for the outside vendors. The resort is covering the photographers dinner though which I appreciated.
  8. Yes! I have the Lobster House! I am so excited about that. I cannot believe I am only a few weeks away. I am feeling good and like everything is in order. I asked Jessica to send me a list of all the details and the total cost and she sent back an easy to read chart of every single detail. It totally reassured me about how organized she has been through this process. I am having my cocktail hour at Las Olas. I think the reception would be gorgeous there as well. I saw pics of a reception at Las Olas and it looked so pretty in the dark with the lights strung up.
  9. Yes! They do offer veg option and Jessica said that they can accommodate dietary restrictions if needed. I am not sure what the veg options are though. I have two guests who are vegetarian but when I asked them if they wanted me to look into it they both thought that the mahi mahi and chicken entree looked like a feast and they are both going to cheat a little that night!
  10. I have two options for my guests. Initially Jessica said "no" but I pushed the issue and she said "yes"! The only thing is that you have to provide a seating chart with assigned seats and what each guest is eating one month in advance.
  11. It was a splurge. I have him from 3pm-10pm and he was $3,000. He is amazing though! I know from experience that if photos are important to you to go with what you want even if it costs more. My best friend went with a more budget friendly photographer and it was a disaster! FYI...I talked to him about the resort photographer being there and he suggested to not have them even come to the ceremony. He is worried they would be in the way and he doesn't want to have to worry about another person in his frame. Which makes sense. I have seen Juan Navarros work too though and it is really good. I'm doing my own hair and make up but I am going to get my nails done in the morning. I want to spend the bulk of the day enjoying my girls and relaxing.
  12. Oh that is a nice idea! We have added so many extras already I don't know if I can add anything else. That would be so pretty though.
  13. @@Sabes44 I'm sorry! Of course you wouldn't. I meant to mention @@upstatekj about that song. That wouldn't work for you. I love the photo booth idea too! If I decide to pull it off I'll send pics of how it worked.
  14. @@Sabes44 and @upstatekj I am walking in to cannon in d. @@Sabes44 have you heard the steel drums version? That is what I am walking in to! It sounds more beachy. I think we are going to walk out with Amos Lee "Sweat Pea". I was contemplating a photo booth kind of thing as my guest book. I haven't figured out all of the details yet but I was thinking of bringing a Polaroid camera and a blank guest book. I would have a couple of fun small props and have guests take photos and put them into the guest book with space to write a little message. I don't know if that sounds too complicated though now that I am writing it out! lol
  15. It must depend on when your getting married if the Lobster House was available on a Thursday as well. The Lobster House has really been my first choice too throughout this past year of planning. At this point it is the last detail I am waiting on! That is nice that they shuffle the pathway to the pier. I am getting married on the beach and I have a guest in a wheelchair as well. I just thought that either way, no matter which location I chose, it may take a little maneuvering to get her out there. Hopefully it all works out.
  16. @@Sabes44 When I booked I was told the Lobster House is available on Fridays. I am getting married on Friday and have had my hopes on Lobster House. They require a minimum of 35 people to reserve the Lobster House. I have 28 and Jessica is making an exception! I still haven't been able to confirm it yet. She tells me that she can officially confirm the Lobster House 1 month in advance. @@hapykat From what I have seen of the pier it is so pretty. I do believe you have to walk across the beach to get to the pier though. I may be wrong. @@JessT Can't wait to see pics!
