Hi Ladies! Ok, I am back and it has been a crazy whirlwind of events.I honestly don't even know where to begin, so I will just start. I will also be posting a different review on trip advisor but I wanted to post here first. We actually greeted all our guests personally with welcome bags in the lobby which our guests were really surprised and excited. We had about 60 people total at our wedding which included 9 children and 3 babies. The rest were adults. Almost everyone staying in block 15 and 16 got upgraded to one bedroom suites which was awesome but at the same time I wish they would have asked me who I would have preferred the upgrade go to because there are certain immediate family members I would have preferred the upgrade to go to versus a random friend. The lobby is the only place that seems to be disorganized. Check in was fine but there were some room requests that weren't met which was annoying also I really wanted certain people to be near each other but they really couldn't accommodate. But whatever it was fine. Check out was a mess since I had paid for bridesmaids to get their hair done prior to check out and of course they were all charged for it. After about an hour it got sorted out. (Check the bill when you check out) By the way, we didnt have a SINGLE person get sick more than a quick upset tummy. Maybe because I emailed my guests ahead of time warning them not to drink the water which includes brushing their teeth but literally no one got sick. So I have no idea what is happening with those other reviews. We had our ceremony and reception on the sky deck and I don't care that I had to pay $1700 I would have paid more that's how happy I was with that location. Cocktail hour was a deck below on sky terrace. Everything was amazing, I met with the coordinators the day after we arrived and came armed with spreadsheets and presentations and all of my stuff. The WC's on site are MUCH more flexible than Lomas and Miami once you get there. They really try to help you as much as they can. I don't even know how to explain this, but you guys know how crazy I am with organization, reading, and planning but once you get there everything just falls into place. It's just what happens. The other brides are right, it just falls into place. Please feel free to ask for certain pictures of stuff and ask questions!

Ladies, it's been a long time since I posted since mainly I use Facebook now and since I'm the originally started this forum, I do want to tell you that I leave for Mexico next Friday and my wedding is in about a week and a half on may 12th and I can't tell how excited I am and mostly how thankful I am for my TA who has literally helped me with every teeny tiny detail. I promise to post a review and pictures when I get back!!!! Meanwhile, so excited!!!

I like those! Where did you order those bags? I feel like everywhere I look charges an arm and a leg I think that's partly true and I personally went through 7 agents before I found one that I trusted. Some of them have very good relationships with resorts and that's why they push them. My TA is GI certified so I get free perks.

Wow! That week of May must be popular because my wedding is on May 12th! Also, the price that you posted above for photo and video is great! Ours is twice that but we went with Sarani who is the most expensive but well worth it if you see her work! Ladies- I have tons and tons of pictures of whatever you need. Also, if you google azul fives ustream, you will see the main sky terrace webcam and previous peoples live wedding video feeds. Best thing ever!!! I'll be down there in November at the brides dress rehearsal, I can take photo requests so if you want something photographed/videoed/questions answered, let me know and I'll be happy to do it

Welcome!!! I am also pretty impressed that you are taking a lead. I absolutey recommended dealing with a travel agent on these kinds of things. I went through five travel agents before I picked one that I felt was the best. If you are interested I can give you her contact information as she has been amazing through this whole process. Just let me know :-)

@@Smellsey, I had done a TON of research before I picked azul fives. Azul beach is definitely the most expensive of the three azuls. Sensatori is the middle but the bigger resort and fives is the cheapest mainly in part because they are set back a little farther from the ocean. That being said, I went through 7 travel agents before I settled on one and here's what I learned. You won't get much of a discount on rates at all. All those stories you will hear from family and friends on how so and so went to mexico and it cost them this much is because they were able to get flight and hotel together on something like orbitz. Well that works when it's just two peoe comjng to mexico, not a wedding party. That being said, azul fives is a good price for a fabulous resort. Also, pricing highly depends on what time if the year you want to get married. We really wanted to do jan or feb but moved to may after spring break solely for pricing. Hope this helps!

Hi @@TinkerSofi, interesting you said that, In dealing with pricing, Azul fives was always cheaper for me because its not right on the beach exactly. And I agree with you with fives being closed to Playa. also, I liked that it was a smaller resort and I wouldnt have to walk ten miles to get to someone's room. On a totally random side note, on the day of the wedding? How does everyone find each other???? I mean, its not like all our cell phones work?
