    We are hoping to go in late July. It has been difficult to get a date approved during the summer months because the resort considers anything between mid June and late August "peak travel time" and wont approve a site visit during that time. As a teacher I can only travel during my summer break! I am trying pretty hard to get an approval for anytime in July. Fingers crossed!

    That is the same rate that I was quoted this week. I would confirm your wedding date prior to booking the site inspection. That way you will for sure be able to apply the cost of the trip to your wedding balance.

    Our guests have to be booked by July. I think by sending out the formal invite by the end of April, we should be good to go. Many people have already started booking but we know there are others out there that haven't gotten on the bandwagon! The timing is so weird compared to traditional weddings.... 4 months seems like the right amount of time. They are purely used as a reminder to get booked! Thanks for the help!

    We are seeing each other before. Wedding pictures beforehand. We plan on still having a first moment with the photographer but haven't decided where we should do this on our resort.

    Ladies-- Hot topic in our household right now! We sent out our save the dates about a year ago and are debating on when to send out formal invites. How many months is appropriate to send out the formal invites before the destination wedding? Thanks for your help!

    We visited the Hard Rock in Punta Cana in 2012 and had the time of our lives. We settled on MoonPalace because it was a bit cheaper for our guests. I would have chosen Hard Rock any day though! Happy planning!

    A year to 18 months is just fine. This gives people plenty of time to make arrangements and save for the trip!

    Riviera Maya is a wonderful place to visit and would be a beautiful place to get married. There is much to do in the area!
