Hi everyone, Hope your planning is going well. Just to let you know that I am leaving for Mexico on Monday so this will be my last post before the wedding but I will post a full review when I return. I got an email from my wedding co-ordinater about 3 weeks before our wedding date (10th December) as promised. Then she gave me a call to go through the final details last weekend. I will meet her on our arrival on Monday and plan a meeting to hand over any decorations etc. I thought this was nice - as international calls don't come cheap but she mentioned that their Skype account was having problems at the moment. Thanks again for all the advice and support, hopefully I can give you some back once I return. Hayley xxx

We are arriving on the 1st December (Monday) and we have 14 guests coming too. Glad you are excited now! I'm getting very excited too - even with 5 months to go!!

Welcome to Saskbride, so pleased you are getting married the day after me and we will meet over there! Heather is also getting married the same week so we definately be sharing a cocktail or two girls!! Calgarybride2015, congrats on your date too. Just give Maria a quick email to check she has everything. I sent all the paperwork back quite quickly which she agreed and haven't heard anything in ages but I'm sure it's all OK. I think it's natural when communicating from a distance to worry that things aren't all in order. They do encourage you to skype them so if that would help too, you could maybe do that. As for the time, I'm doing 3.30pm so it's getting slightly cooler but still time for some daylight pics - I'm getting married 10th Dec so won't be too disimilar to your daylight hours. Finally Leelou2000, best of luck for you and your hubby to be!! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Joanne and Heather, Congrats on your big days! I have had my confirmation now and our date is 10th Dec. Heather we might cross paths in December so that's very exciting! We arrive on the 1st and we are staying for 2 weeks, booked through Thomson also. We have also been to GS a few years ago with Thomas Cook and absolutely loved this hotel. I can see why people return time and time again. Although we have booked our trip through Thomson, we have actually booked our wedding direct with GS. Party because it was cheaper this way and partly to cut out the middle man so to speak in terms of the actual organising of the day. Maria at the hotel has been great and we have confirmed all of our details about the day already to the last flower and song (got a bit carried away with the organising!!). If you need me to send you any of the paperwork or Maria's email, just message me your email addresses and I will forward everything I have. We have opted for the symbolic ceremony because we a doing the legal bit in the UK before we travel. But if you do opt for the chapel, it looks gorgeous! Otherwise, dress has arrived, headpiece has arrived and ring picked out so I'm super excited Just need to drop a few pounds for the bikini now! (Bloody hard this time of year!) Hi ladies, Happy new year! Haven't been on since 2013, I even had to reset my password - oops! Just wanted to say, I sent all booking paperwork off to GS this week so feeling very excited (haven't had confirmation yet though.) Is anyone else getting married in Dec this year??? Or just this year for that matter! It would be nice if someone else was Everyone, feel free to share your big day plans - I love reading them all and picking up lots of ideas. Thank you both, That is great advice and has confirmed my thoughts on dealing directly with the hotel. I have received some basic info from Fernanda in resort who responded very quickly. Oh yes, any brochures would be great, especially any that give you the cake and flower options if you have them. (My email address is [email protected].) I am thinking of having the Italian restaurant for my reception meal - I love the black and white filmstar photos in there and I think everyone in my party will enjoy the cuisine. Did anyone else here have the Italian? What can you have? Is the meal a set menu? Hayley xx

Hi Ladies, I am also hoping to get married at GS next December but I haven't booked it yet. I stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and it's amazing (hence our return for this special occasion.) I was just wondering how you have found First Choice/Thomson? I emailed the wedding team over a week ago and I still haven't had a response from them so it's a bit of a disappointing start. I have heard that the resort have different names for the packages to Thomson, is this right? I am seriously wondering if it's easier to book the wedding directly with GS. Hi there, I am new to this site and I am hoping to get married at Grand Sirenis in December 2014. Firstly, thank you so much to all the brides that have posted here so far. I have read so many useful posts that have answered lots of questions already. Joanne and Victoria, I'm so glad you are here because am travelling from the UK with Thomson/First Choice too so hopefully we can share information and experiences on here - and congratulations of course!! So far I have contacted Fernanda at GS and she sent me some initial information on the packages (basically what you can already find online), I replied asking lots of questions - as you do - but I haven't heard back from her and that was a few weeks ago (I chased this week so hopefully I will hear back soon.) I've also contacted First Choice/Thomson wedding team to compare prices etc, but again no reply! Not a good start, but it's early days and I'm keeping optimistic. By the way I will probably be taking about 20 guests and we want to opt for the Silver Package as it's simple and affordable (not sure what name Thomson give this one though - I think it differs do any of you know??) One question you may already know - is the blood test included? If not, how much extra is it? Thanks in advance, Hayley xx
