Hows your wedding planning going? Im getting married there May 2015, would love any tips that you have regarding the planning and what you did for decorations etc...im in the early stages and looking for any tips/ideas that would help thanks.

Our wedding is booked for May 2015 at the Riu Ocho Rios, I done my research before booking and found both bad and good reviews but now everyime I seem to read something about the Riu Its BAD...OMG would love to hear from any past Riu Brides within the last couple of years with their experiences. I would love more info regarding the Bose speaker and how it works? Will you be able to use it during the semi private dinner for first dances?

Good Idea about checking to see if the resort rents the strollers.. I was more concerned about bringing it for the airport and for the evenings somewhere she can fall asleep while we are watching the entainment and whatnot, but I am going to check the resort first. Thanks oh Nice..how much Planning have you done soo far? have you booked your resort or is it still to early? yes she was 6 weeks...it was a family reunion and we booked last minute because I was due in April but she came 4 weeks early so with the ok from our doc. and a healthy baby we booked and she was the best person on the plane and the resort lol..she slept the way there and back on the plane and as far as we know the plane didnt bother her ears at all. The heat didnt seem to bother her either she was a really good baby.. thatswhy im soo scared about this time around she will be 3 and lets just say im not sure how she will do on the plane lol.

I know the obvious such as what to pack and whatnot but looking for maybe ppl that been there already and can provide a insight of whats necessary and whats not...we had our daughter in the DR when she was 6 weeks but obviously we dont need the same stuff lol and let me know that she was very good, this time around im not so sure where she will be older. if we dont get responses maybe we can help each other lol...where are you getting married?

Anyone have any advice regarding travelling with kids. We have a daughter that will be 3 at the time and I am looking for advice on the plane, to resort, to if i should bring a stroller, what to pack? anything at all helps!!! Thanks

Congrat to you all....I am getting married May 8th, 2015 at the Riu Ocho Rios in Jamaica... As far as having it booked thats as far as I got dont know where else to start lol...what about you guys how far are you in your planning?

I am also from Halifax and our wedding is book for May 8, 2015 and are travel agent is throught Travel Only, so far everything has been very prompt no complaints yet. Theres days when we email 20 times a day trying to to get things organized lol...what part of Halifax are you from? Have you picked a resort yet? Punta Cana is beautiful!

Hello everyone I know there are plenty of threads like this but I wanted to start a new one that is more up to date. I am getting married May 8th, 2015 at Riu Ocho Rios. Other then the date booked I have nothing else done I have no idea where to go from here lol ...Any brides that have been there or are is planning on getting married there anyting at all will help. I am looking for options where to have the reception to decorating lol...lets help each other out along the way with this cause god knows I need it, so any information/pics/ideas on the Riu Ocho Rios post away ladies!!!!!!

I stayed at Now Lamar in May of 2012, have not been to the dreams. The Now Lamar is a noce resor, clean, the beach is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. We went in May so I dont know if it was a slow time for them but there was no noise issues at all during the night and the speciality restaurants were AMAZING....if you pick this resort please try the French restaurant words cant explain how beautiful it is.... One thing that I enjoy was that the disco was very big/nice and it was inside but the has no doors so everything was open (think I confused you) but there was no walls so the breeze flew right in but theres a ceiling so it has to be inside lol and it also has a deck so you can dance on the deck also beautiful...will be excited to hear which one you choose. I am getting married in Jamaica (we want to go somewhere we havent been yet) lol if this wasnt the case I would def choose punta cana in a heart beat...

yes we have a travel agent its just taking soo long like days before I hear back form them sooo thank you soo much I am going to look into this maybe they can give me a list of resorts thats recommended and I can give the info to the agent and she can just contact them and book it seems like that would bethe fastest way lol...at this point I just wanna have something booked. Hi Ladies I need your help from all brides to be who have booked or frm brides who have already got married. I am getting married May 2015 and planned on booking the Grand Bahia in Jamaica,long story short they have nothing available for the week that we are looking for. So my question is what resort in Jamaica is/would be a good place to get married? Must be family friendly. Our first choice was the Iberostar but their prices are well over what we would like it to be for our guest. I have been online reading the reviews on tripadvisor and you will always find something bad on there about everything. So if anyone has any information that can help that would be great as you can imgaine I am soo stressed tryin to get something book so we can move along with the rest of our planning. Thanks ladies.

Hi Clarissa, My wedding is May of 2015 always. Where are you getting married? Back to your question lol I started planning our wedding summer of 2013 lol I know but I am not a last minute person where we have a young daughter and there will be lots to do with with getting her ready for the big day. We have out resorts narrowed down to our top 3 just waiting to hear back from travel agents to book we are looking for the best price for our guest so with luck we will book at the lastest end of April this year. Other then that you can start looking at invites and the save the dates (we have our done will just plug the date and place in once we book ) but besides planning things like favors, decorations, invites, dress picking, you really need to wait until you book so you have a set date it seems like forever for me I cant wait to book so i can feel like im getting stuff done. So i would start looking at resorts and whatnot the pros and cons look at booking sooner then later to avoid disappointment with dates. Hope this helps!

Did you have a problem with the maids taking anything from your organizer? im soo parinoid when it comes to that stuff lol

I am making STD Postcards and I am ok with the front, I have the date, our name, where etc.. but when it comes to the back im stuck..HELP!!!! what are people putting on the back of their postcards and how are you wording it when it comes to travel and accomedations and when to book? any info at all will be helpful. Thanks.

I am getting married in Jamaica in May of 2015. We have it narrowed down to three resorts but we are not sending out any STD'S until we have booked. We hope to book end of April beginning of May for our 2015 wedding. This way people will have at least 10-11 months to book time off and save. I think you should wait until you book with a certain resort before sending anything out.

OMG it's not just me lol... I am getting married may 2015 and I'm going through the same thing would like to have a place picked out so we can book in the new year. Can't wait to see what others have to say.
