Nope, I didn't even invite my own mother (who I am very close with and love dearly). My BFF and I went and that was it. I found a dress and ordered it. You know the expression too many cooks i the kitchen… well dress shopping for a wedding can turn into that. I may feel this way b/c I'm 33 and was engaged once before. Bring 1 or 2 that are close to you for advice or it can get out of hand.

I am going to go on Etsy this evening and order mine! I love the way they look, especially for a DW.

My fiancee is wearing beige linen pants and a cream linen top. He never asks for a thing and his only request was that I don't make him wear a suit.

I am gong to put a fake flower in my hair (I think) there was a flower that originally was sewn into the side of my dress but I ordered it without it so I am going to use that in my hair

I am having my dress altered to fit me barefooted (as that is how I will be walking down the aisle). For my reception I am taking advantage of this being a beach weeding and wearing 3 inch wedges and I don't thin anyone is going to notice my the length in the dress.

I am getting married on June 8th 2014 because that date was available. There is no special significance for us.

I paid about 750 for a first class flight from NYC to CUN. Coach was about 400 when I booked but it recently went up to about 450. It depends on where you ae leaving from and the time of the year. When is your wedding?

There were a few deciding factors in our decision to have a DW. 1 - I have always wasted to get married on the beach. 2- We love to travel 3 - I was engaged to be married about 5 years ago so I kind of felt like.. been there, done that (planned a huge wedding once and would never do it again). 4 - We live in NYC and DW 20,000 vs 120,000 for the 400 guest we would have had to invite. I'd rather save the money or buy a bigger house. 5 - We want it to be intimate and knew that only our nearest and earnest would come.

Engagement pictures are not a necessity and photographers are really expensive. Save the money and put it towards your wedding photos and ordering additional prints from your wedding pics.

HAHA! Same here! I've already warned my parents and sister that they will have to bring an extra suitcase for our wedding supplies.

Have you found undergarments yet? I haven't even looked yet. I am going to wear bare foot sandals when I walk down the aisle and wedges or flat sandels for the reception. I am in the process of having my wedding band made now. The jeweler has had by engagement rig for about 2 weeks now /bc I need to have it molded so they can get an exact fit for my rings to interlock.

I haven;t purchased them yet. Years ago when my best friend did her DW in Mexico we found the at target. We decided not to do an AHR. If we were I'd do a brunch like you are. Is anyone else only having a symbolic ceremony at their DW? This is stressing me out b/c we have to get married here in the US I figured we'd get married at our local church as we are both Roman Catholic and my grandmother is freaking out that she can't come to the wedding (she's 95 and in prefect health, she is afraid to fly). I called our parish and the insane priest basically told me that we were deceiving people and that we should have a huge bash here b/c Mexico is a sham

@@BethandBill I am dealing with that now. I expected about 60 people for our June 8th wedding but we currently have 18. It's something you have to expect with a destination wedding. A few of our fiends changed jobs/are really pregnant/ strapped for cash or simply do not want to go to Mexico in June. It will be beautiful and the only people that matter are you and your fiancee.

I am completely stressed out! I have 18 ppl that have booked out of 150 we invited and everyone keeps telling me that they are going to book. My fiancees mother hasn't even attempted to obtain her passport and a priest told me that he wouldn't marry us here b/c Mexico is a shame ( we are only doing a symbolic ceremony in Mexico) and we are decieving people. I am taking it day by day and trying to keep in mind that certain things are out of my control.

We had our invited made and we decided to not give an option. @@CurlyKristen. I booked my flight and rooms as soon as I signed the contract , which was in October/November for my June 8th wedding. Air was low going from NYC to CUN and it jumped top a bit in the past few weeks for the week of our wedding and if you book block rooms you can negotiate a better rate than you would get closer to the wedding. Personally, I wouldn't chance the hotel selling out. Even f the room rates decrease - how much will they really decrease by, maybe a few dollars a night. OMG!!! I've been working out with a trainer 3 times a week and I think I need to just wire my jaw shut so I stop eating. I am so stressed out about loosing a few more lbs and toning up!! I don't know where you live but in NYC we are getting hit with snow storm after snowstorm and I am slowly losing motivation. @@vanessav53 I am going to distribute my welcome bags at our welcome dinner the night before the wedding.

@@vanessav53 I think we are going to have someone playing the steel drum for our welcome dinner. I was thinking about having it for cocktail hour but I want to be able to enjoy it too. I am renting as much as I possibly come from the hotel. I will get even more stressed out than I need to be if I have to bring decor with me.
