It is very frustrating but this is common with DW's. Trying calling you planner if you are not getting answers in a time frame that you feel is acceptable.

I know!! I really need to unwind before the wedding and spending a little alone time with my fiancée. We NEVER see each other. I work crazy long hours at an Asset Mgmt. firm and he’s a fire fighter and works all of the time. Trust me when I tell you I won’t get tan lines – more like sunburn lines!! I am super fair skinned with red hair and the funny thing is that I am always at the beach and have chronic sunburn all summer long. HAHA! I take a lot more precautions in the past 6-7 years with the sun but it’s an ongoing joke with my friends and family. with a big floppy hat and sunglasses!!!!!

@@tcaurie07 I had to pay an additional fee to have cocktail hour at a different location than my reception. It was $500 for the rental fee location and $350 for the private bar set up.

The lights are $800 to rent and if you bring your own (they are super cheap to buy) they still charge $500 to set up. I was goign to bring my own but its not worht the hassle to save the $300

@vanessav53 Congrats!! I need to get moving on that!! I can't believe its almost June and our weddings are here!!! What days are you going to be at your resort? We are flying down on Monday, June 2nd

I think I am going t add on the extra hour. My fiancee is taking a hands off approach to all of the planning so its my call. I can't believe I am flying out in exactly one month!!!! I'm sorry to hear that you had some issues with your wedding running smoothly but your post is kind of freaking me out a little. Especially the bed bug part. I'm a little nervous now b/c we here in NYC do not take bed bugs lightly.. they cause panic and mass hysteria. I kow that the Sapphire is and has been totally booked for the weekend of my wedding and I am assuming the Jade is as well so moving my guests is not am option. Did you see the bed bugs yourself or get bit?

I am on the fence with adding an additional hour to my reception. Should I or should I not. The club is closed the night of my wedding (Sunday evenings) so we wont have a place fro all of the drunkin dancing BUT all of our events go liek this... the guys drink at the bar and the girls drink and dance. Im not sure what to do. My fiancee said he doesn't care what I do/add on or how much I spend at this point. I already have the DJ for the extra hour b/c it's included in what we are paying him. Thought???

I'm not worried. If it rains it will prob be in the morning then clear up. I've been to Mexico a few times in June and rain has never been an issue What is everyone up to this week!!!! I'm leaving for Mexico in in month and two days. I am waiting for my paper goods to arrive (menus, thank you cards/itineraries for the guest bags). I still need to confirm my details with my planner at the hotel and complete my table arrangements. I will buy wedding jewelry and shoes this week. I think the most time consuming this I have left figuring out music for my welcome dinner and playlist for my DJ.

You'll be comfy in wedges . I had my dress hemmed to barefoot length and my put on small wedges for the reception. I think we are going to download music and have it played over a sound system for the welcome dinner. My shower is tomorrow (totally not a surprise) and after that i'll start on the playlist. One of the tother DW brides gave me some suggestions to download steel drum music and just play that. The hotel vendor wanted 2500 for 1.5 hours and I think thats way too much. @GingerJ228- I ended up just wearing the wedges. I had the peanut gallery with me during the dress fitting ( mom, aunt, sister) and they all basically like bullied me into it. It is what It is at this point. When is your e=next fitting? I go back May 7th. My dress is now hemmed to that height so no turning back now I kind of wish I had flatter shoes but it's done now so I"ll just embrace it. What did you end up doing for the steel drum situation? Did you find an alternative?

I can't believe we are almost in May and I presonally feel like there is so much to do!! I went for my first fitting on Wednesday and the dress was big - woohoo! I was worried b/c I ate my way thru the long winter haha! Now just finifshing up my OOT bags, playlists and little details.

Hi, Just wondering if you figured out your shoe option? I ordered barefoot sandals on Etsy and they come very quickly if you decided to go that route for the ceremony. I can;t believe our wedding s are almost here. Hi Kristen, I am doing a beach BBQ and paying $35 pp. If you don't want to spend the extra money (everything add's up soooooo quickly) then just pick a meeting spot in one of the resort bars and you and your guests can party there.

Hi!! I am getting married in June at NOW Sapphire and I was advised not to chi to the resort. I am going to bring the stuff I need for favors and OOT bags in suitcases. I am using the hotel vender for flowers. They are very pricy but I didn't want to be bothered coordinating with an outside vendor.

Anel informed me that the other steel pan band they could book for me is going to be about $3,000 for 2 hours. I am not comfortable spending that much money for the welcome dinner. I thought about downloading the steel pan music instead. I normally wouldn't care but my fiancee just told me we are buying a freaking boat on Saturday for our lake house!!! I'm like umm okay…… I guess we have a secret money tree!! I am going to check this out. Thank you for the suggestion.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a steel pan band in the Cancun Riviera Maya area for my June 7th welcome dinner We dragged our feet making this decision and now the house band is booked the night of our welcome dinner. Our hotel wedding coordinator recommended another vendor but they are $2500 for 90 minutes. Thank you all in advance for your help

That's so exciting!!!! I'm using the hotel vendor for my flowers even though they are a little more pricey. I may end up regretting this decision. @vanessav53 I will def be at the club for a little bit on Sat - since my ceremony is at 5pm on Sunday I can stay out a bit after my welcome dinner. I am thiking about distributing my OOT bags at the welcome dinner - Im not 100% sure yet.

@@vanessav53.. I just found out that the club in the resport is closed on Sunday nights so I may extend the reception another hour so we can drink and dance and party!!!! When are you flying to Mexico? My finacee and I are flying out or Nererk on Monday 6/2 on the early morning flight.

I havent even looked at that form in onths. I should try to find it tonight so I have a basic idea of what is going on. lol @@vanessav53... did you add an extra hour on to your reception? I believe the standard is 3 hours. Is this correct? I can't believe we are almost in the 2 month marker to our weddings!!!!
