I just purchased my chair sashes from tableclothfactory.com. They recently had a 20% sale, so the sashes that were normally 75 cents were 49 cents each. Their sashes are crystal organza. Tablelinendirect.com has organza sashes for 45 cents each and crystal organza for 99cents each. Crystal organza is darker and has more shimmer. I priced fabric for the gazebo sheers on Amazon for $25 each. I decided to purchase the exotic gazebo (thanks Murmel) because I get the two sheers, two large hanging corsages, and rose petals from 48 flowers for $250. I'm trying to limit how much luggage I'll have to pay for.

Here is my bouquet, the bridesmaids bouquets, the corsages and bouteniers. With the ribbon, and the charm and bling I added to my bouquet, I estimate the total bridal party flowers were about $115. The small hanging corsages are found on the weddingsbylomastravel.com. Pepper55 used them for ceremony and reception decorations. I'll have them place the flowers on the table surrounded by three votives. I'm sorry, I don't know how to attach the photos so they are visible to all. You can the photos in my profile photo gallery.

Don't be stressed about the guests reserving. Easier said than done, but most people wait until the last minute. I have 12 rooms reserved, but everyone swears they're coming. When I start feeling stress I remember this story. Last year we attend a June wedding in Jamaica. I paid the balance two weeks before the deadline and the travel agent told me I was the first to pay in full! My fiance was a friend of the couple. That means we paid before close family and the bridal party! They had a great turnout,so I know everything worked out. I only wish I had made the rsvp deadline earlier.

After reading several planning threads on this site, I decided to make my own bouquets. Afloral.com has many silk bouquets at great prices. I found Dahlia (the Mexican national flower) on clearance for $6.99 I bought several and took them apart and made smaller bridesmaid bouquets and corsages for our mothers. I bought one green orchid bouquet for $8.99 and twelve real touch ivory roses from Hobby Lobby for $3.00 each and combined them to make my bouquet. I bought a cheaper silk ivory rose bouquet ($9.99 at Michael's) and used some of the of the orchids to make a throw bouquet. Hobby Lobby runs 50% off sales and I bought the groom and groomsmen rose bouteniers for about $1.50 each. I tried to make centerpieces but I didn't like them. Instead I borrowed one former bride's idea and will order more small hanging corsages ($45) to decorate the ceremony aisle chairs and have them placed on each table as a centerpiece with votive candles around them I found votive candles (about 2.5 inches tall in glass) in a twelve pack for $5.99 at Hobby Lobby and I used a 40% off coupon.

For brides getting married on the beach, do you plan to wear heals, sandals or go barefoot. I remember someone saying the sand was compact. I would like to wear heels for the reception (I'm 5'1) and I am wondering how I should alter my dress if I plan to change from flats to heels. Any advice? Thanks

Good morning, My wedding is June 20th and my details have to finalized and paid for May 6th. When will my WC start requesting specifics? Meal choices, flowers, décor? I finally got a hold of her yesterday to ask a question, but she didn't seem too pressed to do more than answer my question. Will I get to make specific DJ and photography requests? I am using Mega DJ and Caribe photo. What can I expect?

JMK, Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. We attended a Destination wedding in Jamaica last June and it was great but I had to leave early because it was so hot. So, I vowed to have an indoor reception. The downside is that I see all these beautiful photos and creative DIY ideas that work better for an outdoor reception. I am now realizing that I would have to pay more than I would like for ballroom décor, or just have a very plain wedding. SO my stress is I want it to be nice but not look cheap. I put my fiancé in charge of music, but realized that was a mistake because his tastes are a little different. Like he thought the Jackson 5's "ABC" would be a great song for the wedding party to come out to. So, I convinced him we needed a DJ. I'm not too concerned about the ceremony, but I have no idea what songs I want to use. Either way, I realize that this is what brides do. We worry about details the guests may not even care about. Best wishes and have fun next week! Lola

Megan, Thank you for the offer. My WC responded that the set up fee for lights and/or sheers in the ballroom would be over $250. I may not choose to go that route, but thanks again. Also, I am planning to bring gold table overlays and chair sashes for the reception and fuschia chair sashes and white sheers for the ceremony. If any these would be useful let me know, as I don't plan to take them back with me. Jenny, Thanks for the info. I did see Murmel's photos and they were helpful. I'll look at some of your suggestions. It looks like we will keep it simple and just dress the tables and add centerpieces. My WC said that the DJ (Mega DJ) does light up the dancefloor. I realize I'm fretting over décor because there are so many options and I'm being budget conscious.. I would love to throw caution to the wind and get one of the Memorable Moments packages, but my dear fiancé might leave me at the alter, LOL. Once again, thanks for the help ladies. Lola

I am having my reception in the Ocean Ballroom in June. I had my WC send me photos and pricing for décor. String lights alone start at $800, Sheers $1,500-2,000 and sheers and lights $3,500. And there is an additional expense (I think $500) for a dance floor. This way over our budget. I was already planning to bring table overlays and chair sashes but my WC said they can't quote me a set-up fee until I'm onsite. Did anyone have or plan to have a ballroom reception? Has anyone seen the ballroom and can give suggestions on how we can save on décor? Does anyone know what the average set up fee is? Thanks, Lola

Hello, My fiancé and I are getting married June 20, 2014 at Azul Sensatori. I plan to start working on addressing my invitations this week. I would like to have them go out by next Monday. My save-the-dates went at the beginning of October and our RSVP deadline is April 18th. Our hotel wants everything finalized by May 6th.

I didn't bother requesting traditional rsvps because I've heard from friends that most people don't bother sending them in. I figured why waste the stamps. Im getting married two weeks after you, June 20. We went STDs early Oct and I plan to send formal invitations early February. I have an enclosure requesting RSVP by April 18 on our wedding website. Oddly, we have eight rsvps on our site, but none of them have reserved rooms and we have seven reserved rooms, but none of them have RSVP. Almost every day I have a conversation with someone who affirms they or someone they know is coming but haven't rsvped or reserved. Obviously, I will make my final tally by who has a reserved room.
