@@Tiyra ah okay. Yes I have a wedding planner through my resort. I guess when you factor in that your quote was for 5 bouquets + bouts it's not terrible. Still trying to figure out how much my bouquet will be or if my mom and I can just visit the florist a couple days before and buy the flowers to make the bouquet ourselves. Happy planning!!

Unity Glass - Alternative To Sand Ceremony
pandahugs replied to Rainmaker's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Saw this elsewhere too! I'm not big on sand ceremonies but I like this idea a lot since you actually get a nice piece of art out to display as a result! Def a bit pricey though. -
Congrats and welcome! You have so much planning done already that is so awesome. I am getting married in T&C too, can I ask where you got your floral quote from? Is Environmental Arts the only/best florist for the area?

Post Groom and GM attire
pandahugs replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
FI has a grey suit already...thinking of having him wear it with a nice white shirt and for the pop of color, a Tiffany blue tie! Any suggestions on good Tiff blue/mint ties? Hoping for closer to Tiff blue and less pastel but for searching purposes mint and aqua usually overlap a bit with what I'm looking for -
show us your rings!
pandahugs replied to NABUMBAH's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I think you should do whatever you want for your wedding band! You could get a basic one (or even a fancy one) for your right hand and wear your wedding band separate from your engagement ring. Or if your e-ring is substantial on its own then just use that as your wedding ring as well. Do you have pics of your e-ring? -
Tiffany blue for me with a splash of orange (just from my flowers). Not much else in terms of decorations and other things to add color so I'm okay with that

That's a good idea hosting your AHR at a restaurant attached to a hotel! Especially if you have loved ones traveling that far!

Gifts for parents

This is my exact situation too regarding our parents! I think I'm also going to do something similar. -
Please share your AHR reception invitations!

This has been such a helpful topic! Started a general outline for ours, but will probably let it sit for a few months before I pin it down and mess with paper, design, etc. -
Registry For Small Dw Yes Or No?
pandahugs replied to pandahugs's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Aw that is so nice of your coworkers! Yeah I do kinda feel like since people know we're going away I feel like people will be less inclined to give gifts because they're not invited but maybe that's just how I would feel (though it would depend on the friend I suppose). I'm glad you had a good time! Regent palms looks beautiful, that was a venue we had also considered. I think you are totally right! I started a list of some stuff and I think will go with crate and barrel for one, maybe bed bath and beyond but they seem very similar to me. I like my registry too so I think we can use that as a catchall for random stuff we want to add from different stores like etsy, lowes, or other miscellaneous places.- 16 replies

Registry For Small Dw Yes Or No?
pandahugs replied to pandahugs's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
@@girlinthecity97 yeah I think 3 is plenty of variety! How big is your wedding going to be? Haha I could present him with that alternative, but I'm not sure if he will care even less and just give up completely or if he truly will want a part in it. I guess either way it's fine! Been doing some more budgeting and will need to save more than originally planned (but including flight and rooms all in the weddingmoon) so that is more of a primary concern now.- 16 replies

Registry For Small Dw Yes Or No?
pandahugs replied to pandahugs's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Thanks ladies! Guess I can just go online and add stuff we may need or do small upgrades on stuff we already have. Any recommendations on registries you ladies are using?- 16 replies

Our plan right now is to just have my parents and brother join me and FI on our island elopement adventure (FI's parents don't wish to attend). I think we will be doing an informal AHR once we return (imagining just a big dinner party--no dancing, no big dress). FI doesn't think we should make a registry at all since we aren't inviting anyone to the wedding, just this AHR after. We wouldn't openly advertise the registry, but I think it would be nice to have one in case people ask about it. We have only lived together since last June but are still in an apartment at the moment. For Christmas we just bought each other a KitchenAid mixer and a Dyson vacuum, the two really big ticket items that I would have wanted to register for anyway. How do I convince him that it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a registry just in case? I want him to be involved in picking stuff out for it too. Also, any ideas on where we should register at? I've looked briefly at Williams & Sonoma, Crate & Barrel. Will probably look more into Bed, Bath, & Beyond too as I'm sure I could find some things there.

Gifts for parents
pandahugs replied to mrsnova's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Ooh that is a good idea! My mom isn't a huge jewelry person either (much to my dismay) and my dad is ridiculously hard to buy for because he just uses things to the ground. -
Happy planning!! Sounds like you have the big things in place at least...dress, venue all booked. The DIY stuff is the fun part

Show off your shoes....
pandahugs replied to twinkletoes's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I love these these two but am still on the search for mint or aqua wedges since we'll be on the beach for the ceremony and I want shoes I can wear again so I'm trying to avoid satin (although I have dreamed of wearing some of those Badgley Mischkas!) The first is a pair of TOMS which are insanely comfortable. Not sure on the wide strap though which I think makes it more casual. It does have some sparkle though! Other is a pair by Sofft that are also comfortable but not as high of a heel. They're teal which I also love and I guess it's more tropical then aqua anyway. Thoughts on either of these? TOMS Sofft -
Designseeds and the perfect palette have some good color combinations I have found. Hope that helps!

Since I plan on only having my parents and brother at our DW, I will not be doing invites for them haha. I will do some sort of formal invite for our AHR though, in which extended family alone (aunts/uncles, cousins and their spouses and children, grandparents) will be about 75 people on both of our sides. I do want to invite some close friends too so we'll see how many people actually end up coming!

Just starting - Wedding website suggestions anyone?
pandahugs replied to DiggityDawn's topic in Newbies!!
I looked around at the knot, wix, appycouple ($28 one time fee), and weddingwoo (about $8/month for two years I think, slightly more per month for one year) and finally settled on wedding wire. They have a very large selection of templates for free websites and they have one where you can pick your own background image so that pretty much gives you free reign over the majority of how it looks! -
Welcome! I also got engaged over the holidays. This forum is amazing and filled with resources and helpful ladies!

Haha sounds good! We are hoping to keep it like a casual big family dinner basically. Between him and myself, we have about 75 family members alone if we just count aunts, uncles, cousins and their SO/children. Idk if all his family would go but I want to have some of my friends there too. There's a few restaurants in mind that have event/banquet rooms that may work so I'll have to scout those out. We'll have to see how our work schedule works out in the weeks after our wedding (I work weekends once a month but he works every other weekend).
