  1. So true! @nicofio You got that correct
  2. Is anyone from Philadelphia or the surrounding suburbs having a destination wedding? We always have something wedding related going on in the area. Please share any info that you think may help another person out. Dates for shows, items to sell or trade, or just advice, etc... Congrats to all and best of luck!
  3. My fiancé and boys will be in linen white with our wedding colors. It's a really unique find. We just found & bought their outfits last night. 1st shopping attempt & we nailed it! WOOHOO! short sleeve button up- casual
  4. Sounds like part of it is anxiety that comes along with being a bride.
  5. Thanks! I hope the Home Goods near me has them. Going to make a trip tomorrow morning.
  6. Can't see pics but I'm sure it looks great. My colors are turquoise & royal blue...Wanted ocean colors. It's coming together really nicely. Congrats! Just realized you're a Philly bride like myself. I have to come back & look at your pics when I reach 150 posts. Almost there!

    Ceremony

Correct! It's pretty standard. It's only about 15 minutes for the ceremony so we elected to go green & not to do programs...Figured we'd save the trees. Good luck
  8. The DR is a poor country. The resorts make a lot of money and the workers make very little. They work crazy long hours and make somewhere between $100-$200 per MONTH. Many support large families. When we go, we always try to tip everyone that we can. It is very much appreciated there. We purposely overpack & leave clothes, my fiancé takes new baseball hats and gives them out (baseball is big), we also tip cash. They appreciate US money - more value. Leave a dollar or two daily on your pillow for maid. Do daily because different maids clean your room depending on schedule. But tip the people you mentioned and bartenders. I would tip the chef but we stay at all inclusives and no guarantee it will make it to him back in the kitchen. They are very kind people and if you tip someone a little something, he/she will cater to you for the entire trip (no lie!).
  9. @@Meandhim Sparklers are allowed at the resort. They sell them- Carolina. I don't know about Canada but they cost more than if I bought them here in the states. Customs won't allow you to bring them into the country because they are considered explosives. So you have to buy them from the resort. I'm doing them at my beach bash.
  10. We are at an all inclusive also. However, we are paying for a reception afterwards. We want time to be with our guests and do the dinner, toasts, first dance, etc. We have 50 people so we have to do something.
  11. Using an ipod. Thanks for the app.
  12. We made our list 6 months before the wedding. Added a few new ones but that's done.
  13. Doing dinner/reception then havingg a beach after party for 2 hours. It will be late so our parents & older guests will prob crash. Younger guests will join us in the club/lounge/bar for more fun. We like to PARTY hard.
  14. Dress is beautiful & will look fine. We got my fiancé's outfit this evening... Linen pants & shirt. It will go fine.
  15. As destination weddings have become more popular, the prices continue to rise. Friends of ours got married about 10 years ago at the resort where we will wed. Back then, the price for the bride to be brought in horse drawn carriage was $50. It is now $500. What used to cost about $10,000 in the past 5 years has increased to more like $18,000. Price & demand...
  16. Keep hearing about wedding planners not responding quickly as wedding time nears.
