I like the look of a birdcage veil but undecided if I will be wearing that. If I do, I will be making mine.

I have 2 pairs of flip flops that I purchased for myself and my groom to wear after we get married. Unfortunately, neither pair fits us. They are brand new with tags still attached. They are the ones that leave "Just Married" imprint in the sand. Womens size M (7-8) and Mens size S (9-10). I paid $20 ($10 each) but will sell both pair for $15 and you pay shipping. If interested, PM me with your zip code and I will let you know cost for shipping.

Bridal Party Gifts

The Knot has some nice robes for bridesmaids. They frequently have sales and monogramming is free depending on the special that's running. So if you check that out, you might catch a good deal. -
Best Way To Reach 150 Posts?!?!? To Access The Good Stuff!
1BeachBride replied to cneedham's topic in Newbies!!
I went from like 20 something posts to 150 in two days. I went on any forum and would just comment with one or two words. Just write "Congrats!, Nice!, Wow!, or Happy planning!". It sounds cheezy but watch how fast your count jumps up. This site has good ideas but it works so much better if you can see pics and get templates from others. You all can do it!!! Just stick with it for a day and write any short comment. Nobody is judging -
worried about low attendance for our wedding
1BeachBride replied to BethandBill's topic in Brides Roll Call
This entire process is teaching me to learn to let go! I'll be happy with seeing him waiting to make me his wife as well. But I'm blessed that friends & family will be there to share our day no matter the number. -
Your tutorial was great! I am going to attempt creating my own this weekend. Just in case it's a flop, I will be purchasing from my cousin, Mayana. She has a hanger business: Embella Hangers (google, etsy, Facebook, twitter, etc.) She can make anything requested! She created the hangers for Real Housewife of Atlanta celebrity Kandy Burruss' recent wedding.

Words For Shell Ceremony
1BeachBride replied to JanetandDan2014's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
@@kmk2016 Thanks! I've never seen or heard of it before this forum post. Now, I think this is really out for me. I have some guests that have disabilities and mobility would be an issue. Don't want to exclude anyone. -
Words For Shell Ceremony
1BeachBride replied to JanetandDan2014's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I like this idea but not sure if it's possible. My guests will be sitting in rows... Not sure how close we are to the water for weak throws to make the distance. Great way to incorporate the guests though! -

The night before.....???
1BeachBride replied to selassie11's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We are really not traditional at! We already live together as well. We will be in the same room and go to breakfast together the morning of. After enjoying time together with friends and family early in the day, we will then separate to prepare for our ceremony which isn't until 4pm. Not sure about the specifics yet but he'll see me again when I walk down the isle. I want his honest first reaction for our photos/video. My dress is a secret too. He has no clue what I'm wearing. It's being kept at my parents' home not ours. -

Best place to create a wedding website?
1BeachBride replied to stephenowen's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Our website is on the knot. It was easy to set up and we love how it turned out! We got a lot of compliments about how cool it is and how it has so much information. I put a lot of thought into what it should include. -
Welcome @@Feltzwedding! I imagine you will be quite busy planning in just 7 months! Use the forum as a resource. The ladies have a lot of good ideas and can tell you where to look for stuff too. Your flowers will depend on which wedding package you selected. There are different flowers and color combinations for each package. If you don't like the standard ones, there are options of other flowers if you look at extras or options (can't remember how it's worded on the site). I think they are like $100 extra and up per bouquet. I wanted the color turquoise for my wedding. I looked at the wedding packages on Grand Palladium's website and selected a package that I liked as well as the color options for the different packages. Then I chose my package which has a blue option. I came up with complementary colors for my turquoise. So it will be different shades of blue for my wedding too. We are having a Welcome Party for our 50 guests. Figured it'd be nice to break the ice and have guests get comfy by mixing and mingling with each other. But I'm not giving the hotel any extra money for that since guests are paying for all inclusive and we are already paying for extra stuff like reception & beach bash. We decided to do a welcome party at one of the pools close to food) and then move it to a lounge or club for those that want to party late. We will decide the exact location when we get down there ahead of time and can scope things out. All we need is music & drinks and my group is lively. We will just tell guests the party is at __ location at __time. Our guests already know we're doing one so they'll be asking for the time anyway. I was going to give OOT bags at the party but I decided against it because they will be in the way of fun. I decided to 1)have the hotel distribute to my guests as they check in or 2)have them distributed to rooms. You have a lot of guests. Why not use the resort and keep your money? Have a welcome party at a central location somewhere on the resort. There's so much there, I'm sure it would work out & still be fun.

Hi Ladies! I am trying to see if any 2014 Punta Cana Brides would like to go in with me and order custom drinkware for OOT bags. We can split costs. A large order yields a lower price. I only need about 50 and I'd hate to be stuck with leftovers. My colors are blue so I was hoping to get white and blue with something general like Punta Cana 2014 printed on them. Also something like a tropical image. Any takers?

Starting To Plan - Need Tips
1BeachBride replied to samantha22's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
You have to research resorts...Only you & your fiancé know what you are looking for. So we can't help with that. Once you pick a location, there are MANY great ideas and resources- (templates) on this site. Good Luck! -
@diadiamond Candy is always an easy option.

Well I have children but I'm not going to your resort. My youngest just turned 2 in February. The resort I chose is very kid friendly and has a kids club he can spend time in. Besides that, all of our parents will be going so they will help out as well. Not sure if we'll be packing a stroller but I doubt it. Can't use it on the beach anyway & I'm trying to pack light. I'm going to check to see if my resort has stroller rentals. Out of nowhere, he just started going to the potty consistently this week. 4 days in a row now with no accidents :Dso pampers will be out by the time June rolls around. My resort was featured in PARENTS Magazine as the 4th best kid friendly resort. So glad I chose this spot! My teens and little one will have lots of fun as well as the adults.

Not to be redundant but many have already noted that they probably are unaware. I had gotten wind that a few of our guests were planning to make this a family vacation. Our resort is all inclusive. They were intending to bring friends, nieces, their mothers, etc. Many people have the misconception that a beach wedding is free. (My own mother thought that at first.) If the beach is free, why would you get charged to have them set up chairs? The hotel is all inclusive so why are you paying for people to eat dinner & have open bar at the reception? Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. They don't realize all the extra costs the couple has to pay. You are justified for feeling the way you do. However, you really have no control over who comes to the resort and what people do while there. Unless you are paying for them to come. So I would reach out to the guest who is bringing 3 friends and politely explain that you have to pay extra costs for people. Weddings are not free and you really have strict numbers along with the budget at this point (wedding is very soon). Hopefully they will understand and either offer to pay so those 3 can attend your wedding or the invited guest will attend while the friends do something else during that time. Good Luck. I hope it works out!
