  1. My biggest stressor is trying to plan and control things from a distance. I am a control freak, perfectionist, and very anal. I must have things go my way or I really get nutty (so I've been told by family & fiancé). This has been a test for me because I have no real control over everything. I plan but things keep changing. I'm going to be totally stressed out when we get there because I'll be worried about the WC making the wedding visualized in my head & all it's details become a reality without any problems. I wish I could let go...
  2. @@Pablou Mine is Grand Palladium Bavaro in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic June 21, 2014 (profile info)
  3. @@Pablou I used The Knot. It is free and you probably will like it a lot. It's very simple to set up since you weren't too sure about the whole website thing. You just choose a design and go from there! Check it out... theknot.com Congrats on reaching 150 posts! No problem...glad to be of assistance!!
  4. @@Pablou It gives guests all the information about your wedding... (so questions are answered and they aren't bugging you while you are trying to plan). You could include how you met, your engagement, info about your resort, travel info, how to book, travel agent info, pictures, reception info, rsvp details, etc... Mine has kept my guests informed about everything thus far! I keep it updated. You would just include your url on your invitation (probably at the bottom).
  5. @@Pablou Well try to take advantage of the summer heat & be active. You may be successful where I wasn't. Where are you getting married?
  6. I meant to say official marriage certificate- This is what the US is trying to ask you for as proof. It is different from the signed marriage license which is what I believe you were given at the ceremony. The marriage certificate is not available immediately at the ceremony so I don't think that's what you have.
  7. @ Pablou I'm the same way. We were going to the gym daily for weeks but I'd cheat & eat junk. I gave up. My dress fits perfect but if I gain a pound, I swear that zipper will protest & not go up! lol You may as well keep replying. I'll help you get to 150 posts really quick.
  8. We used the knot. I love how it turned out and it was super easy. The music on page sounds cool though.
  9. @@Pablou OH! I knew it was going to be something very obvious. lol They've been my worst enemy while planning this wedding. If I could only stay away from those dang fries!!!
  10. @@tygrrlily It's an option my resort offers. They set up, clean up, do decorations, light party snacks, and we have a private bar with bartenders. It's an ipod hook up system which is fine with me because we know the music we want played. Price depends on # of guests. So for us it's like a couple thousand- 50 guests. I thought that was good.
  11. I want the starfish! Possibly the sashes & table runners. I pm'd you.
  12. Their weddings look beautiful on the website! This was my first choice but we are paying for our own wedding and wanted to make it affordable for our guests so we chose somewhere else.
  13. I like these but as my time nears, it seems I'm adding new projects every other day. My to-do list is growing instead of shortening. AAAHHHHHHHHH!!!
  14. @@LissaSou They are too cute! Very appropriate for the beach. What etsy vender is selling them? Please share the link.
  15. Sorry to hear about your troubles. It sounds like the pastor gave you the signed marriage license. You have to use that to get an official marriage license from the Registrar General's office. Try this link http://kingston.usembassy.gov/family_issues2.html Good luck! Hope it helps.
  16. I walked with the fiancé this afternoon. But then I ate a bunch of junk later when we came home and he wasn't near me. (Not disciplined in the right area but very sneaky & swift!)
  17. @@CurlyKristen I had a similar experience with my best friend (of over 25 years who is single). When she got our save the date she made a really sarcastic comment about going to the DR that hurt me deeply. I chose the high rode and never addressed it. My Fiance was pissed! Well then a phone call came about 9 months before the wedding. She was asking questions (but still not helping me in any way, shape, form or fashion). I answered, thinking nothing of it until all her feedback was very negative like 'Why are you doing that?... How come you want this?...etc'. I realized what was going on & told her I had to do something and would call her back. At that moment I realized she was not supporting my DW and it hurt me so I chose not to deal with her and upset myself. I have only heard from her twice in the past six months (through text). She stopped calling me. She text to say, she is still going but will be by herself unless she finds someone to go at the last minute. I simply responded "No worries". She can translate that into whatever she chooses. For us, it meant we are not worried about her or whatever it is she is doing. By the way, all our guests are booked except her! Fiance says "Don't even include her in the count because what best friend isn't booked 1 month before your wedding date...She's not coming!" I want her there but I'm a realist. & I won't even be hurt if she doesn't come. I'd rather be surrounded by people who share in my happiness. I just really thought she would be one friend who would show love & support. Guess I was wrong! @@liz24 Doesn't it suck when some people disappoint? One of my friends has stepped out the picture for no reason. I was dumbfounded. Now I question our friendship.
  18. IKEA has white and black lanterns and the price is really cheap!
  19. Yes, most brides use DavetDesigns for the waterproof vinyl stickers to customize cups/tumblers. They're reasonably priced.
