I know some girls have done a secret FB page that only their guest can be a part of.... This would be a better option for me since I know most of them use FB - of course there are a couple of my guest that don't use it often - so again that would annoy me. I did however set up a special email just for wedding stuff - that seems to work ok so far. The only issue I had with it when I sent out the first message was that it went to most of their junk mail boxes so there was a lot of follow up that time. I hope I didn't discourage you from doing a website! That is not my intention - just sharing thoughts!! Do you have something set up already.. there are options for free ones that actually look really good!! Anyways... what are you doing for your STDs? That is actually were I included my TA info and Resort info. That way if anyone was ready to book they could. We told everyone that is invited in April and sent STDs in July - so they had a little time to think about their trip. I just had my first booking the other day YAY!!! You didn't discourage me at all.I am absolutely still going to do a website. Just because I feel ike there will be some people who wll follow up and check it. Most of my people are not on Facebook so that probably won't work.. I'm picking a photo STD from snapfish. I dind't think to include my TA information. Actually that's a pretty bright idea seeing as how it might jump start the booking process. I like it!
  2. I don't know if you girls frequent any natural hair forums... but I know that Curly Nikki has a few bridal, natural hair posts. I still don't know how I want to wear my hair. As soon as I am over 150 posts I will post some pictures of some styles.

As far as the invites - I haven't made mine yet... plan on sending them next month so I need to get a move on .. I'm just undecided on how I want to put them together. I also may not be the best person to answer this because I think I am probably doing things a bit different... Did you send out Save the Dates? If so, what info did you include in those? If you haven't already given out the following info it might be good to include (in the order they came to my mind right now- haha) - TA Info - Dress Code - Booking Info - Normal Invite Stuff (Date, Time, Location) - Resort Info - Island Info - Any Other (anything that you might want them to know to make planning their trip easier) - Website Info (if you have a wedding website) OR if you do have a website and you think people will check it regularly you can just put normal info and put the rest on the website That is all I can think of right now. Hope that was at least a little helpful RaynDrop... you're so awesome and amazing! Your post made me smile. I am composing STDs this weekend. I figured that I might as well get my invitations together since I'm into spending money. I feel like it's so hard for me to even know what to put in the invitations. I don't want to forget anything. I will be working on my wedding website this weekend. I have guests of all ages. I don't know how many people are going to regularly look at the website, honestly. So it looks like I'm going to have to be more traditional and includen the RSVP cards. I'm going include RSVP postcards so that I can save on postage. Guess it's time I start working on this wesite I'm so not good at this kind of stuff. But I want like a real website wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

I haven't even thought about how or what I want to do to my hair. How good are you at styling your own hair? what about your bridesmaids? I get Dominican blowouts from time to time so I asked my stylist who does them and she said I shouldn't have any problems getting my hair styled the way I want even by resort stylist. I'm just a little apprehensive leaving something so major up to chance. I’m not having any bridesmaids and the female guest attending the wedding could probably fix but not do my hair (for the wedding). Yes, I know how I want my hair. I'll try and post a pic shortly. I think you should be ok. Dominicans have hair really close to AA hair. So I think you should be ok. I know that you don't want to leave it up to chance, but I think you'll be fine. After all... you could get a real authentic Dominican blowout
  5. Today has been trying... on my emotions and my patience. I wrote a post about my MOH to-be declining my offer, I'm not hijacking this thread with my sob story lol. But there was a light at the end of the tunnel. I finally had a real conversation with my Travel agent and she really turned this not so sunny day into a brighter day. I will be completing my group contract hopefully in the next week and putting my deposit down for my room block. This wedding is REALLY happening. I suspect this is what pregnant women go through when they pick out the crib & stroller for thier unborn children. (I could be completely wrong about that though as I know absolutely nothing about being pregnant. I'm excited. sad... but excited. I'm focusing on getting this wedding together. So now.... I have a question. What do i put in my invitations? I hate to sound clueless & perhaps I should peruse the forum, I just wanted to post an update ( and hopefully get closer to 150, I digress). What kind of enclosures are you including? What specific information needs to be included? I've been to 3 destination weddings and i can't for the life of me remember what the heck was in the invitation. Present Brides: What did you include in your invitation? Past Brides: What did you wish you put in your invitation? (I probably should have posted this elsewhere... forgive me) Stefani
  6. Her reason is... She can't afford it. She just had a baby a few months ago & I just found out they'll be going to Disney next fall. So they're saving for that. I understand. Sorta... I'm just bummed man. Again I knew this was a possibility but it's not what I expected. She kinda flat out said no, no real thought about it. & it's possible that I'm reading more into it. I'm just frustrated! I'll get thru this. Thanks BSB. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  7. I'm crushed... I knew this could be a possibility but I just wasn't prepared for that answer. I'm upset, I'm hurt, I'm angry and mad. Not to be petty... but I helped her with everything, I went over the top for her wedding, bridal shower, bachelorette party, baby shower christening... and the list goes on. I don't wanna sound whiny, or cranky but I'm just hurt and disappointed. I don't know what to do because I don't want her to know. I'm also very passive aggressive so, I'm bound to ignore her at the drop of the hat (immature I know). I'm just..... reeling with emotion right now. So allow me to have the moment of dramatics. Anyone else gone through this? How did you cope? How did you maintain your relationship? this -ish sucks man.

You nkow I'm still trying to get an idea for how I would like things. I do agree the complimentary ceremony is beautiful. I think I might want to drape some fabric across the archway that will match the wedding colors (whatever those may be because i haven't chosen them yet) But I'm really trying to keep my costs very low. Then have the favors laid out at each seat, so it'll add some pizzazz to them. We are also going to hang up personalized papel picado in the terrace as well, just because they'll be free since my family makes them! I think the beach is enough for decor. I'm not going to spend money on decor that I can't even take home with us. (I respect brides that have done it, but not only are the prices RIDICULOUS - the pics and memories are going to be about the people that were there with us...not if we used off-white or ivory for our napkins!) That sounds beautiful. I love Papel picado!!!
  9. I'm natural too... have you picked any styles? I've had my hair done while being on the resort, I was at Dreams Punta Cana. I didn't have any issues. 10. DOes anyone know where I could find a budget calculator for a destination wedding. I'm in the midst of searching the forums. But I haven't been able to locate one.
  11. I see a groupon for vistaprint for $15 for $45 worth of custom printing... Sounds like a good deal right?

I did find some very inexpensive return address labels on www.colorfulimages.com I also found good deals on vistaprint (haven't used them yet). I did std on shutterfly (love that place) my RSVP are boarding pass rsvp so just have to put stamp on those for guests. I've bought tons of things from previous bdw brides Thanks hun! See the thing about buying from past brides is... I don't have any colors or themes in mind so it's hard. I'm also not sure of what I will need. I'm going to stop making excuses and... make some decisions. I'm my own biggest barrier. I think I just want everything to be perfect.... whatever that may be. I am getting my STD done through shutterfly. I found a coupon and I really like the price of the picture STD, so I'm pleased.
  13. Sadly I still haven't reached 150. I wish I had more time to post oh well... At least it's Friday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  14. For those of you doing the complimentary package, what are you doing to decorate your wedding space? Are you leaving it as is...? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  15. Hey shugapop I can't wait until I get to that point. I'm still feeling very lost in the sauce of it all. I'm not sure if this has been asked or not but did anyone do Return address labels? Or stamps? I'm on a budget and I'm trying to decide which would be most economical. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  16. How are you ladies doing this evening. I fell off the wedding planning wagon. Work tends to be a little overwhelming. I'm managing though. So.... Save the dates are going to be created this weekend and hopefully I'll have them in the mail by next weekend. I'm being very proactive. I still don't have colors picked out. I can't choose. I'm also stressing out about my budget... ughhhh Anyways how are you ladies fairing?
  17. ::peeks in:: Hey everyone... Sorry for the disappearing act. How's everyone doing? The holiday weekend really put me out of commission but I'm back! I still have several pages to catch up on... So... what happened while I was away?!?
  18. Seriously... I'm still at like 95 posts... this is ridiculous. I thought I would have had time this weekend to come on here. I guess not.
  19. Thanks Hun! Yeah I'm off tomorrow... But I'm visiting my family down in Maryland this weekend. They are all going to want to chat about wedding stuff.... I'm excited, but I know they are going to overwhelm me.
