Hey what other decorations will you be having for your ceremony/reception space? I'm trying to get some ideas and i want to cut down costs. I'm doing the complimentary package so... I know it comes with very little decorations.

The bride had like 15 bridesmaids. It was beautiful. I don't know if I could ever pull something off like that. It's pretty ballsy.

I'm using them for my centerpieces as well but don't know where to look I'm not DIY either - I need an entourage lol I haven't found any silk flowers in particular. I stumbled across them when I was browsing the forums and I found this post http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/77883/my-real-touch-flowers Her flowers are OUT OF THIS WORLD beautiful. They damn near cost almost the same amount as some real flowers/resort prices lol. But I was impressed. So that's where I got the idea of possibly having silk flowers versus real flowers. They photograph so nicely. I think i might be able to pull it off. MrsD you live close by... we could do it in a weekend!!! lol So my task now is to find these flowers, buy them in bulk possibly and try to do pomanders. -

I know everyone is saying we shouldn't worry b/c Dominican hair is similar to ours. However, we can't assume all Dominican stylist know how to do hair just like not all AA stylist know how to do hair. Decisions, decisions...... SO true!!! I feel that you'll be fine. Just tell them to watch it with the heat... they get a little excited, which we all know can spell trouble for our hair.

Morning! I was googling and I was thinking smoething like this would be nice http://www.koyalwholesale.com/p24789/8-5-full-rose-ball-pomanders-available-in-11-colors-new.html?gclid=CNrAh8_UzbkCFe1AMgodwSIAFQ&gclid=CNrAh8_UzbkCFe1AMgodwSIAFQ&jadid=20012106723&jap={adposition}&jkId=gpt:pt_32955&js=1&jsid=27745&jt=1&jr=http://www.koyalwholesale.com/p24789/8-5-full-rose-ball-pomanders-available-in-11-colors-new.html&gclid=CNrAh8_UzbkCFe1AMgodwSIAFQ I also like the hibiscus, frangipani plumeria and calla lily very beuatiful tropical flowers... so I'd be more inclined to want to use those flowers. -

I haven't even though about how I am going to move all of my stuff around. Plus I plan to go on my honeymoon afterwards... so I'll likely have to send my stuff back with family. Which could be tricky. I'm just invisioning things getting stuck and lost in customs.... Speaking of customs, how are you guys transporting the stuff in the OOT bags. I think I might have read about there being limits on the number of things you can bring, and declaring it beforehand... that's just annoying. So I've been on this website for today and i learned two things. Thing 1: I'm not using real flowers for my wedding. i just disovered real touch silk flowers and they look like the real thing. Since I receive a free bouquet... everyone else is getting silk flowers. Thing 2: I think I want to create some pomanders to decorate the ceremony space. I'm totally not the DIY type... but I look at pictures and I get sooooooooo excited! IDK if I could actually do it. but I wanna try. -

When we were first discussing weddings, this was prior to deciding to do a destination. I said, "HHoney lets sit down and talk about the budget" his response, "Babe i don't know how much weddings cost, let's try to price things out and then we will decide how much we can spend" HUH?!?! No way dude!! that's how you spend too much money!!!!!! So...... I put a nail in that coffin and we both spoke about prices we were comfortable with and went from there. Now I really need to start tracking on these expenses so they don't get out of hand. -

I have a nice layout, I can add the TA information on the backside of the STD. I've been online window shopping too! I was hoping to catch some end of season summer sales considering I'm getting married next July. I can't find anything I like... big surprise there huh? I wish I was a little less indecisive. Is there a pill for that? -

You know... I have this small philosophy. I know that our idea of what looks beautiful has been jaded with the idea that in order for your hair to look well kept it needs to be straight. You're natural, whether your transistioned or BC'ed you went through the trouble to treat your scalp and hair better. Don't falter for one day because you want yourself to look a certain way... especially if every other day you don't look that way. (that came out way judgemental, I hope ya'll can read between the lines) I'm getting more and more comfortable with my natural hair. I just haven't decided on a style. For those of us getting married during the summer there's rain, and lots of humidity to contend with. It makes no sense to try to work against that. It will just spell trouble for our hair and stress us WAY out. I say... work with the humidity and try to find something you're comfortable with. Easier said than done... We'll make it, though. Perhaps we can share natural style ideas. Anyone thinking big fro-y twist out?!?

I feel like this is really going to encourage more people to attend by providing them with the TA information up front.
