  1. Hi! I have Susana, too. how did you find out you are assigned a different WC? I haven't heard of feedbacks on Laura. The lady who recently responded to my email was Ramona. She said Susana is on leave and she is just replying to my e-mails but I'm not sure whether I still have Susan or Her. when is your wedding? mine is in May, so I'm not sure maybe Susana will be back to work then? Happy planning!

If we decide to do it this way (which I'm leaning torwards the more I read) I would do the legal part HUSH HUSH, where only the FI and I were there. No one needs to know the ceremony on the beach is "pretend"! What is everyone elses thoughts? If you were having your wedding in PR or a US virgin island I think you wouldn't have to worry about the legal stuff as much. Anyway, we wanted to do a legal one in the beginning but was put off by the amount of paperwork and translation needed for the DW, so we decided to sign our papers to make it legal in the US before going to the DR. We won't have the whole vows, ring exchange, the real wedding stuff until we get to the DR, so really we'll just sign papers but still feel our wedding is when we do it in May. Maybe do the paperwork exactly a month to reduce the confusion. LOL. I've read stories of people not getting or losing their marriage licenses in transit bc they mail it to you, so things like that scare me. Hence the symbolic ceremony for us

Literally, almost every person that came (we had 43 people), said it was the best wedding that they have ever been to. The photographer. AMAZING. We used Tropical Pictures. The whole stay was absolutely amazing and I wish I could do it all over again. I will say, I was wicked nervous before we left, only because, it's a horrible feeling only talking to the WC through email, but we met with Arise the day after we got to BBPD. We finalized everything that day. Easy. Took an hour at the most. Cake decision. Boom. Photography decision. Boom. Food. Boom. We added the cocktail hour, amazing. It was well worth the money, and we had it right on the beach where we got married. Arise really takes all of the worry off of your shoulders. She really is amazing, and we had absolutely NO issue at all. The only MINOR hiccup was that the judge that married us was a half hour late, which wasn't even a big deal at all, and they just moved the reception time back, so it wasn't affected at all. The professional photos came out AMAZING as well, we had Micelia. Couldn't have asked for a better photographer. I'll post pictures asap, or I can email them to you. And if you want to email me for anything my email is [email protected] There were 3 weddings happening at the same day/same time ish, and you would NOT EVEN KNOW. They take you on the trolley from the ceremony to the reception area. We all WOOOO'd whenever we saw people. Awesome ride. The food, really good. We got the tomato and goat cheese salad, awesome! The main course was the chicken, I didn't like it too much, but I don't like chicken on the bone. Other people loved it. We got the creme brulee, along with the cake. BOTH AMAZING. For the cake, we got 3 tiers all different kinds. The first layer we got vanilla cake with strawberry filling, second, vanilla with pineapple filling, and the top was the vanilla with guava filling. ALL AMAZING. The ONLY thing I could say bad about this place is that when we were trying to check out, there was confusion about us paying for the wedding. We paid for it a week before we left the resort at the front desk (they actually charge everything to your room, so you have to pay for it there and not at the wedding department). When we were checking out, they said that money wasn't applied to our room yet, even though we had a receipt. So our only wish is that there was better communication with that kind of stuff. Other than that, it was the best time of our lives and we would definitely recommend this resort. So, ladies. Do NOT WORRY AT ALL. It WILL be the best day of your life. Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your experience

We sent about 120 stds (some we know already can't make it but just for formality) so we might end up with 80? I think that's pretty huge for destination. LOL. I wish I can engrave something on the back of the luggage tags that's a little permanent like a quote or something.
  7. Yea, I just got the silver ones. My color theme is peach and gray and silver is pretty close to gray for me. LOL. with the 50% coupon they're pretty much $1 ea. I tried to look for the tags on the dollar bins bc some brides said they foubd it, but I think my michaels doesn't sell them.
  8. Thanks for letting me know about cost. That's pretty good. I mean Invities usually cost more than regular mail to sen anyway. Now, key word is IF I do the MIB, then I will post pics! Hehe. Other than that I have to google search ideas on how-to. haha. I'm not as crafty as you ladies. The other invite I was thinking of is just the boarding pass idea that a lot of other DW brides have done. We'll see which one my fiance agrees with, too. For favors, we're doing luggage tags which will double as escort cards. I found some at michael's and with the coupon, it makes it less expensive Thanks again for sharind ideas!
  9. I know the TA stuff takes some time, but it's good that it's going I didn't have to e-mail TP the spanish version of my question because I asked my WC if she can just help me book TP or how does the deposit work, and she replied that I don't need a deposit at all and that we can just sit down togeter with TP when I arrive, so I'm going her route. If I can wait to pay them later why not?! I just don't know why TP was asking me for 30% deposit prior to arrival.
  10. Thank you! I'll let you know when they reply. How's wedding planning?
  11. I've been looking at real touch flowers too. Do you know if real touch, true touch, natural touch and silk are all the same? I've seen the true touch at hobby lobby and it looks and feels real, but they only had roses and I was hoping for peonies or something other than roses. I see a lot of silk flowers online. Wondering if silk looks and feels real like the RT Which website or where do you think you'll get the RT flowers from? Thank you.
  12. Thank you. I asked my WC originally about tropical pictures and she gave me the email to contact them instead of making the reservation for me. Trop Pics keeps telling me to send a 30% deposit before they can confirm, but they never sent me the instructions as to where to send it, etc. So our emails would keep looking like "Hi. Can you please tell me how to send the deposit?" and they would reply with "You need to send deposit before you arrive." hahaha. So confusing! LoL.
  13. You are ao creative! Mine is going ok. We sent out our save the dates. They were just magnets from vistaprint bc we didn't want anyone to lose them. I found my dress last weekend that was fun We're getting married in the Dominican Rep in May. Looking for a photographer right now and like you, thinkiabout invitations. If you don't mind me asking, how did you ship and around how much was the cost of shipping your save the dates? I saw a cute idea of message in a bottle invitation. You inspired me to maybe do something more exciting for invitations. Happy planning and thanks for sharing your ideas.
  14. I don't know about having an outdoor photographer, so I agree with soonmrsD. It's best to ask your WC. For those who use or are using Tropical Pictures, how and when do you pay the deposit? Also, does anyone know what to do with carrying a bunch of wedding stuff like we're planning on bringing centerpieces, OOT stuff, favors. Do you think customs will say something? Thank you.

It took a very long time to get that last part right, but was worth it in the end. I just googled how to make one, searched on this website and then decided what the best way for me was. The bouquet that came in the package- they would not let me give it to a bridesmaid, so I just said I didnt need it. We didnt do a bouquet toss, because there was only about three single women/girls there, but if you were going to do that I would suggest getting the free bouquet for that! Good luck! You will love BBPD! It is amazing and Im ready to go back! Thank you so much! I finally went to hobby lobby and those real touch flowers definitely feel real, but there were only a few selections at the store. I think I will be doing a bouquet toss, so I will probably use the free bouquet for that. Thank you again and hope married life is going well.
  17. That's so nice that your cousin will officiate yours. It makes it more personal.
  18. Hi Ladies, I also have Pastor York. I chose him because we wanted the religious aspect of our wedding and he is open to adding any traditions that the bride and groom might have or even a sand ceremony if you want. He allows you to choose between a traditional religious or a contemporary ceremony or you can mix both. I've read great reviews about him and he seems so nice on e-mail. I'm also not sure who is the $300 minister, but I think ifyou choose a symbolic without the pastor, your WC will officiate your symbolic ceremony. Hope everyone has a good weekend and happy planning!
