We plan to have dinner at the restaurant and poolside reception with DJ following... I received an email from the wedding coordinator that it was $120 an hour to rent out the poolside for dancing reception. Then the other costs are added - such as DJ (190/hr), bar, etc... They also gave me the option of renting out a hall for 120 an hour? did anyone else get these prices?

How many people does the 3,800 cover? We also plan to do live music for the ceremony, as well as possibly live music for 45 minutes during dinner.

However, we are not sure when is the best time to book our during the month of August due to heat and rain.... Is it better that we book it at the early, middle, or end of the month for August 2014? I agree... I don't want those cheesy getting ready pictures... But I am mostly interested in getting lots of pictures just just Arsen and myself... And course many of our family, wedding party, and ceremony :-)

Also, do you think you could pay for more pictures? Like if I wanted 50?

I think DJ is included with poolside reception price? That's what I heard on another post.... National Bar: Beer, Rum, Vodka, Tequila, Cocktails, Gin, Whisky $2680 USD Special Cocktails: Beer, Piña Colada Cocktail, Margarita Cocktail & Sparkling Wine $1400 This option is for 50 persons maximum , in case there´s more people will have an extra charge. This packages includes 3 hours of open bar, set up, soft lighting, cocktail tables, white tiffany chairs microphone and music DJ.

I actually really like the idea you have for the flow of things.... it seems like it is all sequential and wont have any issues with guests waiting around being too bored or too hot. I'm thinking of asking for a 4pm ceremony, so pictures would be 4:30 to 5, then drink at bar at 5, dinner at 5:30 to 7:30, and then reception from 7:30 to 10:30. Although a later reception seems to make more sense, in Mexico, I feel like 7:30 to 10:30 is perfect because the heat will really tire everyone out.

What is the deal with the photos and photographer? Does the photographer take a lot of photos and let's you keep disc but only prints out ten?... Or we only get ten total and that's it? Is he any good? Thank you :-) Kat

Hello, I am new to this site, and recently engaged as of July 4th My fiance and I have visited the gran bahia back in May 2011, and KNOW this is where we want to get married. I finally got a hold of Paloma today, I think we are going to do the Unforgettable package for $1710 with the poolside reception. My biggest worry right now is setting a date so we can get booking! I am in school for my doctorate so unfortunately the wedding has to be when I have a break from school... That leaves us with Christmas/new years, mid April, or the entire month of august. August seems the most cost effective and easiest for others to attend (my sister is still in college, as with my fiances brother, and 2 of my younger cousins....).. they also all have the month of august off. However, I worry that the weather will be TOO HOT and RAINY Any thoughts? Thank you xo Kat

Hello! I am new on this site. My fiance and I have been to Gran Bahia back in May 2011, and we KNOW this is where we want our wedding. We became engaged on July 4th of this year and I had trouble contacting the resort, but finally totally received a response from Paloma. After looking over the price list, I believe we are going to the 'unforgettable' package for $1710. We also plan to do the poolside reception, which from my understanding is about 1,100...The biggest issue I am having right now is setting a date. I am working on my doctorate degree so the wedding has to be around my time off from school... that leaves me with Thanksgiving week, Christmas/new years, mid April, or anytime in August of 2014..... august seems most reasonable because my sister is still in college, as are two of my cousins and my fiances younger brother. Furthermore, price to travel seems better in August... HOWEVER, I worry that the weather will be too hot and rainy Any thoughts? Also, I see that 10 pictures are included with the package.
