  1. I have not heard about getting any freebies for dinner but if anyone knows of this please share. We have over 80 guests at approx. $75 extra per guest. It is crazy!
  2. Can past brides post the timelines to their day. Include everything from when you woke up till you went to sleep. Also, I'm still looking for a private catamaran for a group activity for our guests. We have between 60-75 guests and all the ones I'm finding for that large of a group only leave from Cancun and we prefer not to travel a half hour for it. Thanks!!
  3. Hello. I want a dress with a removable skirt. That way I can take it off at the reception if it's hot. And we are also having a reception back home and I don't want to ruin the bottom. I found a site with beautiful dresses and reasonable prices. www.2in1weddingdresses.com What's everyone's thoughts?? Thanks!
  4. What are the various costs and photographers people are finding/using for outside vendors? I talked to Del Sol only so far and they were between $3000-5000.
  5. Did anyone do a reception dinner with just the wedding party? And then invite everyone else to join them for the DJ later? We have almost 100 people joining us and I can't justify paying $100/pp for dinner when it is an all-inclusive. Did anyone have there dinner/reception on the beach or by the pool?
  6. It is a little pricey to have the welcome bags delivered to the room by the resort, so we plan on having an informal welcome cocktail party the night everyone arrives and then handing them out then.
  7. At home reception RSVP vs. destination wedding RSVP..... Who is having an at home reception along with their destination wedding?? We are having our wedding at Now Jade in November and an at home reception in January. I don't know how to handle the invites and RSVPs. We need a final head count for Now Jade 45 days before the wedding date, I feel like this is early to ask people to RSVP for our January reception too. But I don't want to have to send out 2 invites / RSVP cards. What have others done??
  8. Has anyone with a large group done a dinner for just their wedding party and parents? We have over 80 guests and a wedding party/parents group of about 30. We want to do the Devine package, but have our guests go to cocktail hour and dinner on their own, then meet us at the reception room for dancing. Not sure if this would work well, but the cost to have everyone go to the dinner is over $4000... which seems crazy for an all-inclusive. We would rather spend that money on a party boat or something. Does anyone know if there is an additional price per person over 25 guests for the ceremony chair setup? And if so how much?
  9. Who else will be having their wedding November 6th or the dates surrounding?
  10. We have a large number of guests joining us. Near 75. We cannot afford $70 extra per person for dinner. We are thinking about only having out bridal party and immediate family attend the reception dinner. Everyone else could attend the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception dancing. Miss anyone done this? Is it possible? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Is it cheaper to have the buffet for your dinner. I see it says only available for over 50 guests. What is the extra cost when having the Divine package. Normally it is $53 extra per person over $25.
  12. We have almost 100 guests.... the cost add up really fast for the reception dinner for any number of guests over 25. What did other people do that had a lot of guests? Is it cheaper to have a buffet at the reception instead of a sit down meal? Can we have part of the actual buffet restaurant reserved for us and then use our 3 hours of reception time for cake cutting, speeches, and dancing? I know this isn't the nicest option but it could save a lot of money. Any other thoughts?
  13. Who has used BookIt.Com for their wedding? The prices are so much cheaper than going through a travel agent or apple vacations? Any problems with it?
  14. It's official!! NOVEMBER 6th, 2014!!! Having a problem with dinner reception costs... we are going to have almost 75 guests. That's an additional about $8000 for dinner!! What else have people done with large groups? That cost is just insane for an all inclusive. Also, can people share their timeline they used for the 3 hour reception. How long was your meeting with the wedding coordinator and who did you bring with you?
  15. PAST BRIDES.... What did people do that had a large number of guests coming? The costs for extra people over 25 is crazy! $70 per person for dinner $7 per person for cake $5 per person for Champaign toast $20 per person for cocktail hour That's over $100 extra you have to pay per person. What other ideas did people do if you had between 50-75 guests?

Another factor to consider is if anyone in your group gets sea sick? We had about 15 people decide not to come because they thought they would get sea sick. Also, a few people get sick on the boat, even though we told them it would be open water and possibly a bit wavy. How wavy or windy the day you pick will be is something you can't predict or control. Just a thought! I would love any information you have. [email protected] We plan to have between 40-50 also. I was down there earlier this year and did a catamaran excursion out of Puerto Morelos. It was great but I don't remember the company name. It was not private, but we had so many people in our group there was only two other couples on our boat. They took us out to the middle of the water and those who wanted to snorkel went on a separate small boat and snorkeled for about an hour. The captain and his crew were amazing, they were so fun, let us choose the music and made the best drinks. The whole thing was supposed to be about 3-4 hours on the water but they let us stay out longer. Then we returned to land and had lunch at a local restaurant, it was included and very good. It was not too warm that day so we did not swim while we were docked but that would be nice if it was on option, not sure if it was. Also, it would have been good to have snacks on the boat, we were all starving by the time we got back from lunch. Overall it was a great experience and I'm looking for the same thing when we go down for our wedding.
  17. What catamaran are people using in the Cancun area? We went on one earlier this year with a group on vacation but I can't remember the company. It was amazing, the staff was so fun and accommodating. It included all our drinks, snorkeling, and then lunch back on land. They extended our trip by a few hours for free because we were all having such a great time. It was less than $100/person. Please share what catamaran companies others have used or are planning t use and the prices. Thanks!!
  18. This website has great, personalized drinkware for very reasonable prices and they are running deals all the time. I have ordered koozies and other things through them several times. Koozies were super cheap and you are able to print on both sides for the same price. http://www.discountmugs.com/
  19. Who do a catamaran excursion for their guests or wedding party? We would like to do this as a thank you to everyone for coming. One that includes drinks and food. Please let me know who you have used and how much it was. Thanks!
  20. Has anyone used www.bookit.com for their weddings? The prices seem unreal because it is so different. For example a 4 night in early June us about $1100 on apple vacations or the jade website and only $800 on bookit.com. Seems crazy. Also I know if you use www.destinationweddings.com they price match. Would they match this?

  22. Has anyone used www.destinationweddings.com to book their wedding at Now Jade. What did you think? We have a local TA I could use but the TA's on this website seem like they would be really convenient and knowledgeable.
