  1. @rachelia160 The final paperwork is due to the resort 45 days ahead of time (can be adjusted some), so I gave my guests until 60 days before. I had a pretty good idea of the number but there were still some surprise bookers towards the end.
  2. Who can provide more insight on going through customs with decorations and welcome bag contents? I have heard there is a $300 limit. Does this include decorations and welcome bag contents? How strict are they? Our welcome bags are about $700 total for all the contents and our décor is about $400. Welcome bags include - bag, insulated personalized mugs, personalized koozies, aspirin, gum, chap stick, sunscreen, playing cards, and Kleenex. Décor includes - chair sashes, mini vases, water beads, floating candles, fake pedals, name place cards, and bridal party flowers.
  3. Ahh! We are officially 25 days away. I feel ready but I'm sure I'm forgetting something!! I have packed up all my decorations and welcome bags. Final dress fitting today. Sent in all my paperwork, budget worksheet, guest list, seating chart, and guitar playlist. I sent the weekly itinerary to my bridal party and parents yesterday. What else needs done?! I wish I had a packing list so I didn't forget anything. I still need to figure out how much I am tipping and who.
  4. Where did you use the soundlink? At ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception? Does anyone know if you can use a wireless microphone with this speaker or any other type of Bluetooth speaker?
  5. What are some money saving tips people are using at the resort.... this could include anything from welcome bags, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, décor, special things for your guests, excursions... it would be a nice thread to start and get other ideas on what people are doing. For example, we have 70+ guests going. To have them all go to the reception would be close to $100 more per person. Which is crazy at a place that is all inclusive, why pay for a meal that is pre-determined for you. Instead we are having a immediate family and bridal party reception for 2 hours then having everyone meet at the disco. Then we are paying for a 5 hour private party boat excursion for everyone that is only about $55 per person and probably going to be a lot more fun.
  6. I haven't has any problems with the spa. They have been very quick to respond. [email protected]
  7. Our welcome reception was included because we booked during a certain time when it was the special.
  8. I still have no idea on music for ceremony. We have the guitarist and I have his play list but it is impossible to choose. I want modern songs, not just the regular ceremony songs We are bringing fake flowers for the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Then using the included flowers with the package for the bride, groom, parents, and officiant. Our welcome bags are finally complete. Now to finalize some simple décor for the reception. Anyone else having the welcome reception? Are you bringing any décor for this?

  10. I really need someone's ceremony song list that used the guitarist.
  11. That is the one I have been using. And last time I emailed the other ones is when she told me I needed to only email in the future. Just want her to email me back and give me a few answers Luckily a lot of stuff I can get from past brides on here.
  12. There emails look generic but they are all actually a little different for each coordinator. I emailed her on 9/15, 9/12, 9/10, 9/8, 9/3, and 9/1 (when I sent my paperwork).
  13. Here is the contact from the hotel for the private excursions... he can tell you about ones going to Congo Bongo or private boat tours. [email protected]
  14. I was there when we stayed in Cancun. It is fun, a younger crown. Much more of a night life than the resort. But it is about a 40 minute bus/cab ride to get there.
  15. I have sent it more than once, at least every 4-5 days! Before I was officially booked I was talking with Ariadna too and she was very good getting back to me with my questions. Once I was working with Pilar - I guess she is my 'official' wedding coordinator then I emailed Ariadna a question and Pilar was not happy about it. She said 'if you want a different wedding coordinator then just tell me and stop emailing other coordinators'. At that point I didn't even know I was 'assigned' to a certain one. It seems like when you are first booking they are all about helping you then once you are officially booked they start blowing you off. I completely understand there are a lot of brides and they are very busy but this is getting a little crazy!
  16. UGH! Sent in my final paperwork and budget worksheet to Pilar over 2 weeks ago and still no response. I am trying to finalize my timeline so I can print out fan programs, timelines for the welcome bags, etc... I need to know what time she plans to meet me when I arrive, if we can have a rehearsal at the pergola, if our included private transfer can include my parents, and if the guitarist for the ceremony plays from start to finish and if there is a set song list or do I get to choose from songs he knows??
  17. 55 days!! So excited! So much to do! Set in my final planning paperwork last week to Pilar... no response yet!!!! I've already started re-thinking some choices. Is this normal? Started to finalize a timeline for the day yesterday. First dress fitting today! We booked through Apple and had enough people book to get one of our stays free. They told me we still have to pay it in full then they will credit us later. Is that the norm? Does anyone know if you use the guitarist during the ceremony, does he pick the music? Does he plan before and during? All songs... like prelude, processional, interlude, etc...?
  18. We booked the party boat with www.cancun-discounts.com We preferred something in Riviera Maya but the boats there only fit 40 people (these can be booked through the resort). We have 80 so we needed something larger. It ended up being very reasonable at around $55/pp. This includes transportation to and from Cancun, open bar (beer/liquor), snacks, music, snorkeling, and parasailing while on the boat.
  19. I am not sure about how they are setup in the bamboo room either. I sent in my final planning paperwork to Pilar last Tuesday and have not heard back yet. I requested to have rectangle tables setup in a big square so everyone is facing each other. We have 30 people and are not having a dance floor so I thought this would be fun. We have 80 people joining us but only have immediate family and friends going to the reception dinner... instead of paying the $80/per person for the reception dinner we are paying for a 5 hour party boat instead for everyone.
  20. 2 months from today!! Welcome bags almost done. See picture.
  21. Hi Leggi... I'm getting married November 6th! How many people do you have going? What are your colors? How do I quote something... seems like every time I write it starts a new one and doesn't carry anything over?
  22. She told me she would honor the $65 price since that is what my stuff says.
  23. Thanks for all the advice on Gonzalo. Just heard back from him... the price and amount of time was exactly what I was looking for. My pricing still says the $65 for photography pass. So excited!!!
