  2. Hi Ladies, It's me again. So I was looking over the different packages and we were thinking of going with the Devine package and substituting the things we don't want or need. Based on reviews I saw a lot of brides do this and it didn't seem to be a problem, however I know things can change. My question is for those who have used the Devine Package it says it comes with a silver menu cocktail hour and dinner reception AND a platinum menu cocktail hour and dinner reception. Is this correct? This is really important to me because I really want to do a welcome party for my guest and was planning on using the cocktail hour/reception for the welcome party. Can any of you wonderful ladies who have had your weddings here already or planning to answer this question. Many thanks! Brenda
  3. I'm going to be a Now Jade bride also and I am soooo excited! My husband and I are actually already married but we didn't do a wedding and NO FAMILY was there when we eloped at the courthouse. He promised me that on our 5 year anniversary we would have my dream wedding so that day will be here in 20 short months. (LOL!!! it's not really short but it sounds better in my mind). I am in the beginning pages of the planning as our date is going to be April 25, 2015 which is the exact date we married in 2010. I have really enjoyed reading this forum and going hearing about everyone's plans and journey. The reviews have been short of amazing at answering questions that I would otherwise be waiting forever to get answered. Since I have such quite a while before my big day I will continue to enjoy everyone's experience and post about my planning until my big day comes.
  4. Tiarra, That's Great! I too am staying on budget but seems I am at a higher cost than most people. Could you share your budget breakdown? I am currently coming in at around $6600 for everything including photography. This is for about 30 ppl including my self and FH. I am sure I can get it lower if I change my centerpieces but I am stuck on wanting a certain centerpiece that is EXPENSIVE!!! Sigh! Luckily I only need 4. Another option to lower cost that I have been thinking about is items that I can resell afterwords. Easy way to make some of your money back.
  5. Mrsbrowntobe: You have some good ideas and sounds like you should definitely be able to keep your budget under 7k. Which resort in Jamaica did you choose? I know a lot of people who have used dress makers from china and I can definitely share the info. Send me a private message for more info. The STD idea is a very good one. I am doing STD and invitations because I really wanted the passport invitations and since we are not inviting too many people I was able to keep it within the budget.
  6. I too am a 2015 bride but I have confirmed rates for April 2015. April 25, 2015- Now Jade Riviera: $115 per person per night based on double occupancy. Flight not included. So that's $345/3 nights.
  7. Congratulations monica! I too am a 2015 bride and it's nice to see someone else in the "early" stages of planning! I am pretty much sold on the Now Jade resort. i also really liked moon palace but it was outside the budget for my guest! Look through this forum under the review section and to should be able to gather alot of information.

  9. Hi everyone! Newbie here! Just wanted to introduce myself as I am super excited about having our wedding at Now Jade. I did ALOT of research and had gotten my choices down to Now Jade and Moon Palace. In the end I really did love both resorts based on pictures and reviews. My deciding factor came down to price per person for my guest. I am so happy to be a Now Jade bride and I hope to learn and share my planning experience with you all.
  10. My colors are magenta, purple, and silver. My dress will be white and I am currently undecided on what the men will wear. I want my wedding to be semi formal but lots of fun and sort of over the top because I am not having at AHR so with an 8k budget I am going to try and get the most bang for my buck!
  11. Great thread! Our budget is 8k. I definitely think it is doable based on my budget spreadsheet I created for myself! I have over 18 months to search for sales, deals, and the most cost effective ways to make my dream wedding a reality.
  12. I like this idea Tiera! I too am on a budget for our wedding. Mine is $8,000. When is your wedding? It would be great to follow eachother's journey. Ball on a budget as they saying goes. Congrats!
