    Thanks @! Did you book it with an independent TA or directly with Sunwing? @@calgarybride2015, yah YVR is Vancouver. I'm surprised as well that AirCan doesn't have direct flights from Vancouver. We have so many limited options in the West coast. :/

    Hi @, yes I do...but I keep checking the price and I didn't see the price dropping at all... How about for your hotel? Did you see the price lowering at all?

    We flew with AirCanada to Dominican Republic 2 years ago and we hated the layover. We had to fly from YVR to YYZ (~5 hour flight) and then YYZ to PUJ (~5 hour flight). We landed at YYZ at around 11pm. Everything was closed and we had to sleep in the airport because our flight is scheduled at 6am. Ugh. On the return trip (PUJ to YYZ), the flight was delayed and we ended up missing our connecting flight back to YVR. Fortunately, there was another flight we can take 3 hours later, but still...had to wait another 3 hours. I vowed to have direct flights for my wedding so I ended up specifically picking packages from Sunwing or AirTransat as they are the only ones with direct flights from YVR to CUN. We picked RIU Palace Riviera Maya. $1,608/guest from YVR $1,628/guest from YYC $1,455/guest from YYZ These are 7 day packages. 11th guest stays free. Price includes flight and all taxes.

    Hey @@TinkerSofi, my fiance is 5'2 so he is tiny, but he has a broader shoulder so some slim fits didn't truly fit his shoulders. Mexx was too big on him. We also tried H&M, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, JCrew, Alfani Red, Zara, Bar III, Le Chateau, Jones New York, Kenneth Cole, all the labels in Moores, Harry Rosen, etc. We hit the jackpot with Topman at The Bay and BananaRepublic.ca (BUY IT ONLINE! The actual stores have very limited selection!). His Topman suit is about $300. Fits perfectly except the sleeves were too long. We got it fixed for $15. His linen pants from Banana are about $60 each. Again too long. We got it fixed for $8.

    I did it after as well because I didn't want to pressure to come to our wedding just because I asked them to be the BMs.

    @@britt9702, I'm getting married in RIU Palace RM. If you have any questions about that resort, you can ask me. Pros: Access to all the RIU resorts nearby (I believe there are 5 of them) Outside vendors are allowed ($250/vendor - cheap compared to some other resorts) Good reviews based on TripAdvisor, Google, Expedia, etc. Within our budget Colonial style buildings (looks good as a backdrop for our photos) Close to PDC Not a rocky beach Cons: Cannot play music or have dance floor if having semi-private reception Semi-private reception is limited to 27 guests for the first seating Wedding information for the RIUs are some times hard to find Some people have trouble communicating with wedding coordinator. I did find some difficulty, but she usually replies within 2 or 3 days. Ceremony locations may be limited depending on what you are looking for

    Have you tried BananaRepublic.ca? Usually my fiance wait until they have 40% off and buy a whole bunch to get the free shipping. He just bring items that he doesn't like back to the store to get a refund. Last time he purchased (about a month ago), he bought a linen slim suit and slim linen shirt and it fits pretty well.

    I'm using it for my wedding. It is easy to use. Most of my friends only use iPhone to take pictures so it is a good idea to have an app to encourage them to post pictures. I have added some pictures here and there from our bachelorette and other photos.

    Hi @@NotSoWitty, thanks for reading my looooong posts. I can't justify the vendor fees, but I think it is just easier on the day of to have the MUA in the hotel. We are planning to have door games, the ceremony and then tea ceremony so it is just easier if I do not have to find a taxi to take us (my mom, mom-in-law, BMs) somewhere else to get hair and makeup done. With the language barrier plus new to the area, I don't know if I want that kind of stress on the day of the wedding. Are you planning to have your photographer there to take photos? If you are getting married off-site, can you have your makeup done @ the off-site location? I didn't get much info from inhouse MUA. I know some brides are happy with their work, but I am kind of skeptical. I haven't heard that they allow waiving vendor fee. Who did you contact in the resort?
