  4. Thanks for sharing. This board really is awesome! I wish there were more hours in the day, I feel like I'm constantly thinking about what DIY projects I can start on.
  5. Thank you so much for sharing!! You did a really great job!! I've been trying to figure out how to start making my own DIY passport invites and this has been very helpful. What kind of printer do you have? I'm looking to buy one to make my invites but I'm not sure which would be best. Thanks!!
  6. This is great, hope I can reach 150 before my wedding. Will try to figure it out based on the examples. Thank you ladies! =)
  7. Great job!! And good idea with the Gatorade powder packs in your survival kit! I'll have to borrow that
  8. Congratulations Catwilliams! I almost booked my wedding at the same time!! It was a REALLY tough decision but I ultimately chose Hilton Papagayo over the RIU Palace. FI and I went to visit in July because I was so torn between the two, seeing the places made us lean towards Hilton. It's a little more intimate, even though we're having a rather large wedding, about 80 guests. I think our guests would have had a great time at the Palace also.
  9. I am also considering the RIU Palace in Costa Rica for my wedding next year. Antoinette, I was also debating between the Guanacaste and Palace. I was wondering if any one here has done a site visit or how did you settle on the resort?
  10. Hi everyone at BDW!! I love forums and I can see this one will be keeping me up til all hours. My fiance and I knew we wouldn't be having a traditional type of wedding and a destination wedding just seemed perfect, plus all our friends really wanted us to do it too! We are looking into Costa Rica, at the all inclusive RIU hotels and the Hilton. I do have a lot of questions and I hope I'll have them answered by looking through this forum. I'm super excited for all the DIY projects looking at the wonderful ideas on here!! A quick question... for the brides who have walked down the aisle already, did you go see the resort/venue first before you signed a contract with them?? I'm really struggling with that, on the one hand I feel like I'll be ok not seeing it, but on the other hand I want to get a good feel for the resort, quality of food/service. I imagine my guests will be staying longer than just the weekend and I really want to make sure everyone has a good time,I'm estimating about 75 guests. I've already gotten quotes back for some locations but at earliest I won't be able to go for another month... please help!! Many thanks!
  11. Great thread! I just joined this forum today, I hope it's not too late for a May 2014 wedding. So many amazing ideas on here. I was just thinking about this myself and wondering what printer I should get if I wanted to do my own invitations. Will be following, hope we get some replies!
