    I'm thinking Drag! Piss my family off. Ill wear a black tux and he can wear the damn dress. Hahahaha! I'm kidding.( kinda) just dreading the whole trying on dresses thing. We haven't decided on much. Well , at least not concrete. I'm leaning towards Dreams Palm beach or the Melia for our resort but i def know I want to do the reception at the Jellyfish restaurant. It just seems so damn cool! I'm not set on colors but do love the following.

    Christ you just scared the bejesus out of me. Lol I'm sorry you went thru all that. I pray it won't be that way for me as we'll. our families are huge and u can't please everyone. My wedding is October 31, 2014 . We just picked the date and are already getting comments about the appropriateness of a Halloween wedding. I love Halloween always have, it wasn't intended to be that day but that's how it ended up and now I'm psyched. Flights to Punta Cana in late October are going to be steep from Mia so I can hear it now. I'm being defiant as hell, I don't care. I've schlepped all over for people , their parties and allllllll their kids parties. It's my turn! Lol. Or stay home. I'm not offering a torture chamber I'm offering U the vacation of a lifetime.

    Although we are planning on having a website ( if thenFI ever get around to it) I figured is drop a small paper in the STD envelope that said something like " for the early bird planners or eager beavers , please contact ( travel agent)

    I say stick to your guns and go on a planned. When you travel anything can happen , theft, death, food poisoning . He'll any of that can happen @ home. Life is exactly that. Life! Continue with your plans, those that are savvy travellers will know that they just need to be cautious. That goes without saying anywhere you choose. Can they guarantee a theft free environment anywhere but in their own homes? Don't let anyone rain on you're parade . As long as I'm concerned the more people that back out( usually the ones who don't really care) the less mouths I have to feed! I haven't even sent invites yet, and I'm getting shit for my date. I'm gonna be pretty cut throat about it. The way I see it, my friends and family with kids that say they can't afford it? If I see you taking a yearly trip to Disney which costs a fortune then I don't wanna hear it!

    Hi May I ask how you go about reserving seats on an airline? Most of my guests will be coming from Fll but it seems AA is the only one who flies to Punta Cana from here that time of year. October. They also only fly out of Miami. The prices are steep and I wanted to know what airlines do for " reserving" dates or group rates. Thanks

    Lol. Thanks! And yes! Paris is awesome . What's everyone doing about kids? The jellyfish only holds 120 ppl. I don't mind if people bring kids to the resort, but is it horrible that they make sitting arrangements to come to our reception off property? I don't want to use up our numbers on kiddies. :0(

    Hi I've posted a few times but have mainly been lurking. Lol. Trying to become more " active" . I got engaged last month in Paris. ( on the love lock bridge) awwww. Lololol! Everyone's been doing that so I had to. It was a total surprise. Wasn't expecting it for another few months or a yr. but here I am, planning a function I've really never given much thought to. I did always know I'd want a DW. If I could find someone who'd want to marry me. Lol. I used to be in event planning, mainly wedding years ago before I became a flight attendant . I've always disliked the idea of 400 ppl coming to eat and drink on my tab. Lol. Especially since I'd see a lot more ppl show up to receptions than to the actual ceremony. So DW it is!!! I wish we could keep it small but it looks like small is inviting 100 of our closest family and friends. We have a huge family and inner circle. We have decided to do it @ the jellyfish restaurant in Punta Cana , not sure of the resort yet but leaning towards Dreams palm beach. Going scouting in September . So my wedding date is... Ready? October 31, 2014 ... Yes Halloween! We initially wanted Nov 1 but it was booked so I thought. Why not? It might be fun, we can make it a masquerade . Lol. Plus there will always be a party going on for our anniversary and he can't forgot it! Lol I'm getting a bit of negative comments and flack because its Halloween and because its a Friday. What do y'all thi,. I'm very much the screwem all type of gal.lol

    Mayte sent me a 2013 list last week for my 2014 wedding so I'm gonna hold her to those prices. Lol . I wouldn't worry too much , if u want to send her a deposit. As long as your sure this is where you want it. She is super busy and although we generally don't take that as an answer for " business " here in the states , it is what it is in DR. She's apparently the only coordinator and tries to get back to people one a week or so . She did say on the FB page that July is crazy for her. 27 weddings. Just be patient and remember this. When all is said and done there is not one bad review on here of her work Ultimately she comes thru . :0)

    Personally I am not turned off by the reviews at all. Not to be a contrarian or anything but this is social media. We are not only on here to pick colors and pretty invites. I appreciate their candid reviews , it is a "reviews of the resort " forum". That way I know exactly what I plan to address as well as nip in the bud when I get there. :0).

    F fanatstic note! Congrats on ur day. I'm sure this post will calm many a bride on here. May I ask you how many people you invited to get 86. I'm wondering what the ratio turns out to be. We need to invite about 120 but are hoping for about 80-90. Thanks again for the advice .

    Agreed! At the start I'd ask a whole bunch of questions and shed answer like one. Lmao. So now I ask her one question every few days , usually getting a quick response back with a few words. It's cool. I now know that's how she works and that she's soooooo busy. Apparently in July she has about 27 weddings booked. That's crazy ! She wrote me and said she hasn't say down to watch a movie in ages. Hahaha. So I guess if our wedding is late next year, little by little she and we will get there.

    Thanks Katya, I know this post is old but I just posted last night about the sky lanterns and were they allowed. I just found your info and I've decided against them. D.R is beautiful enough, and I won't to help keep it that way. I've followed a few of your postings and even copy cat some of your wedding plans. Lol.
